While wandering the depths of Lowe's and having no luck locating my much-needed items, I heard a young man's voice call to me from afar. I was astounded someone was attentive, had their head up and focused on me, a middle-aged woman pushing my cart through one wrong aisle after another. My sights were set on gathering the necessary parts to put my childhood canopy bed together for my next home's guest room. I needed 16 parts and although I had no idea how I'd put them together, I began by purchasing what I needed. Once the young man was standing at my cart, complete with a ready smile, I showed him a photo of my precious project. His badge showed me his name was Kayden and I imagined he was in his early 20s. With hope, I told Kayden I needed those pretty little toppers for the canopy. He immediately knew their name: finials. He politely waved his hand and motioned for me to follow him. Once at the end of an aisle I didn't realize existed, Kayden showed me the array of reasonably priced finials and asked whether I had any more questions. I thanked him and assured him I was all set. After spying the finials I had to have, I noticed there were only three and I needed four. I wove through the aisles once more in search of Kayden and finally tracked him down. I showed him the finials, resembling the ones from my childhood bed, he said, "Oh, we have plenty of those!" I assured him he was wrong and let him know the hook was empty. He grabbed hold of a 100-foot-high lift and made his way to the top of the rafters. Within moments, he handed me the finial I needed to complete my set. I asked Kayden if I could write a Yelp Review for him and he said he'd be honored. Everyone who shops at Lowe's will do well to have Kayden in their corner. After going to Home Depot without any luck finding what I was looking for, we decided to try Lowe's. It just south down Churn Creek Rd. Easy to find and plenty of parking. Going in it looks pretty much like Home Depot, but with a different color scheme. Again not a lot of service staff to direct you to where you wanna go. But better than Home Depot though. Walking around I did see the door knob locks, and I did need to replace one of mine to the garage from the inside of the house. I think they call that a "man" door ... weird name for a door I say! Anyways, pick out a doorknob lock. Then I wanted to find the chainsaws. I wanted a small cordless one. I did find the power tools and the cordless chainsaws, but most were way bigger than I wanted to deal with. I wanna keep my feet and hands! I did find some smaller ones, but they were name brands and cost way more than I wanted to pay for something I was just gonna use occasionally. Don't trust the Redding Lowes. Ordered a 11 foot Sheetrock lift to be shipped to store. It took twice as long to even show tracking and when it was said to be delivered to store the order vanished. He helped me troubleshoot my apparently complex electrical issues and saved me a lot of money, time, and headache! I have tried many times to contact Lowes by phone and no one in the store answers either by department or in customer service. They have a robot answering the phone who makes no sense and after a long fight back and forth transfers the call, but no one answers. I placed an order for an appliance on February 14. The order contained the verbiage, "we will keep you updated along the way," or words to that affect, but no updates, and no response with regard to an order to be received today 3/4/2025. Is this a sign that Lowes store may be closing because they have stopped being available to customers. This isn't just disgraceful this is an affront to customers. read more

The cashiers at the lumber yard end are helpful as is the bearded guy who works in tools. The fork lift operator dragged his feet helping me for over a half hour and I ended up buying the nearly 700 dollars of materials at home depot instead. Recently I asked several times for someone to be paged to rekey locks I was buying. A half hour later someone finally showed up. That guy was helpful, but clearly my first few requests for help were not called in. Any time there has been an over charge compared to the price on the shelf, customer service strongly resists lowering the price to what's on the shelf, which can be a crime in california. They have several times accused me of grabbing the product from the wrong location even when I showed them pictures of the display which itself had a photo of the product right next to the price. I had to threaten to just return the item before they agreed to give me the price on the display. Several times this week I've had to hunt around for employees even in other departments to find help. I can't tell if the are understaffed or if they just choose terrible times for store wide meetings. I can't recommend the store at this time unless they're the only place that has the product you need. read more

I do not recommend getting delivery here home installations unless you know you'll be speaking with some in customer service or the store manager Such a conflict arises. I can see from the reviews others have not had a great experience either. I am still waiting on a response from corporate and the Redding store. I have reached out numerous times by phone to the Redding Store and no one picks up in Customer Service. I have called the 1-800 number they tell me some one will reach out in 24-48 hours. I am still waiting a week later. I ordered a tool box it came delivered damaged then I worked out an exchange delivery for a new tool box and they came picked up old one and never recdived the new tool box. I asked for a full refund and they gave me patrial. They have lied twice to me no new tool box and the remainder of my money. If you go to the reviews on Google you will see others have experienced problems with delivery and horrible customer service. I feel robbed twice. I have listened to my husband try to reach someone in lumber by phone for over an hour. He goes through the prompts and finally speaks to a human and has been hung up on twice after asking "can I speak to someone in lumber please?" The delivery guys said they would take it make to the store and said we can get it replaced for one that is not broken. I was ok with that. Being a contractor I have several issues with Lowes. 1. My C-card does not link to a pro account as it does at Home Depot. 2. I have to make sure at check out that my receipt gets emailed to me because of the incompetence of some of the checkers. It is the only way to track my purchases other than using a Lowes card or number that I have to care with me, what guy has extra space in his wallet for stupid cards from every store? Also, annoying to ask if my email is the same that's on the card. Wouldn't it be obvious that if the card had an email linked to it that it would be mine? Also, business cards aren't supposed to be used for cash back, why ask if I want cash back on a Business Debit? 3. I use a VPN for my internet connection because I don't like being tracked by scammers and spammers. Lowes's website doesn't allow me access to their site while using my Virtual Network, but guess who does? Yep you guessed it Home Depot. You might think based on my slant towards HD that I work for them but not. I am a GC and purchase hundreds of thousands at these box stores. I feel as if Lowes is more concerned about selling to homeowners who are looking for BBQs, Appliances, and Yard Equipment than they are concerned about the contractor. Maybe this is why it's a pain in the arse to shop there as a GC and track my purchases amongst other issues. The thing is I live close to Lowes and would prefer to shop there if they had their act together and were more considerate of the contractor experience. So I, like most other contractors drive the extra 5 miles to go to HD and you can tell because they do ten times the business at HD than they do at Redding Lowes. 4. Plumbing is better than it used to be but the aisles are laid out by someone who doesn't know the trades. My two cents. read more

I purchased a whole house of carpet for my mother in laws house on July 12, 2022 and was told the carpet would be at the installer in 3 weeks with a 1-2 week wait after delivery to get it installed. The carpet arrived at the installer yesterday and I was told the installation date is October 14, 2022. They are in breech of the contract we signed in two areas. I had carpet installed in my home a month ago that I purchased at Design Time and Tile in Redding. That carpet was installed in my home 3 weeks after making the purchase. NEVER buy carpet at Lowes. The salesman lied about delivery and installation times and I have had no help from the 877 phone line that I had to call. Once Lowes takes your money you are relegated to a phone number from someplace else to try and get your stuff. I will never shop at Lowes again and I caution people to not make purchases like this from Lowes. read more

They left the furniture leaned against a wall with rolled up carpet blocking it and Seth a manager at Home Depot told me to have my 70 year old disabled tenant move it. "I paid you to move the furniture not him." Seth told me to put him in a hotel. "He pays me to live in a house, not a hotel." I have filled out a customer survey after I sent in my satisfaction survey but never heard back. I called your customer service line. They said that my visit at Lowes should never have gone that way and a manager from the store will call me. Here is my storyL: On July 4th I was looking for a lawn mower on the Lowes website. I wanted an Ego and I found that you were selling one for $50.00 off the regular price. The stock at the Lowes store showed there was only one. I found the mower on the ground below the shelf. There was, indeed, only one. The box for the mower was severely damaged on the side but I figured you wouldn't sell it if the product was damaged. My wife left me to go get a cart. There was no cart in the store so she had to go outside and get a cart there. On this day at this time it was 110 degrees outside. She had trouble controlling this red hot metal cart and somehow she got it inside, through the store, to where the mower was. I am a frail 71 year old veteran and my wife is 68 years old.There was a sales associate 3 feet away talking to a customer who watched me and my wife struggling to get the box on the cart. He did not bother to call for someone to come help us. He simply observed us for 5 minutes as we struggled to get this huge heavy box onto the cart. The box is 85.62 pounds according to your web site and the box was large and clumsy to handle. Somehow we got the box on the cart and pushed this big box slowly through the store so as not to disturb any of the displays that were placed in such a way to make it difficult to get through the store to the self check out, which was the only way to check out at the time. Many, at least 4, customer associates who were not dealing with anyone watched as we struggled through the store. The customer associate who was monitoring the self checkout registers scanned the box for me. i told her there is a big gap on the side of the box. She said that is why it is $50 off. It did not say the box was damaged and that was why it was $50 off on the web site. I did notice that the shelves were properly stocked the next day so Lowes was forcing the damaged box to be bought before new stock was brought out. She asked if I was a veteran, I said yes, she entered my phone number and I asked if I got any discount because of my veteran status. She said no that I was already getting $50 off. Paid for the mower as several associates watched us stumble out the door with difficulty. Again, it was 110 degrees outside. When we got to the car my wife and I were struggling to get the huge box off the cart. A gentleman in a big pick up pulled up and asked if he could help us. I said yes please and thank you. As we lifted the box to the back of the car by the handle holes used for lifting the whole bottom of the box opened up and dumped the new mower and all the box contents on the ground in the parking lot behind my car.I told my wife to watch the contents of the box as I go in to Lowes to tell what happened and hopefully get some help. I dragged the huge empty box remains back into the store to the pick up area. It was 110 degrees, my face is red, my clothes are soaked with sweat. I politely waited my turn and told the associate I am having a problem and may I talk to the manager. She responded positively and used the phone to contact the manager. The manager called her back and said that she was at the other end of the store in the pro center, whatever that is. She told the clerk it would be at least 5 to 10 before she could come talk to me. So still red faced and sweat soaked clothes I walked all the way to the other end of the store. e I said I am looking for the manager and her name was Amber. Amber was the one on the computer with no customer to deal with. . She got up, presenting with reluctance, that a customer had found her. I told what had happened so far and that the contents of the box has fallen out into the parking lot. Her first question was are you going to pick it up. I said I have to just to get my car out of the parking lot. I told her I had made eye contact with several associates that were not doing anything. No one wanted to help the old man in 110 degree heat. The manager told the associate to take $100 off which was another task that took 5 minutes. The store manager said that it wasn't because of my age that I got not help. Nobody helped me to load the car still. There is more but there is limited space. read more

Stopped in here to buy $100 worth of moving supplies before packing up our 4 bedroom house a 2 hr drive away. The moving supplies aisle was blocked off and employees said oh you'll just have to wait. It seemed to be an indefinite wait because no one could tell me how long. First question is why they are doing this on a super busy Saturday. Second is why they are so incredibly unconcerned about their customers. Also a frail elderly lady had fallen and instead of calling 911 they were putting ice on her wrist. So not only do they not care about customers being able to reach and buy products they are now medical professionals too! They may not have called 911 to avoid being sued. Terrible awful place. We came here for a few pieces of planks and waited around forever to find out they could not cut them in the store with the machine, so it was a bit disappointing that it took about a half-hour or so for someone to tell us that. The Lowe's in Redding, CA is located on East Cypress near Churn Creek Road, about a mile east of Interstate 5. The Shopping Center is cool with a Safeway, CVS, Starbucks, Habit Burger, and a handful of smaller retails shops. Lowe's has the whole east side of the complex and faces East Cypress with a huge parking lot out front. The wife and I hit the Lowe's to grab a few items for a project that we are working on at the house. Remodel projects are fun, and allow for some great quality time with your spouse (are you laughing yet?). We walked into the Lowe's at about 6:00 PM on a Tuesday night, it was a complete ghost town in this place. There were about a dozen shoppers milling through the store. We quickly found the items we were looking for in the paint department. The store is overall clean and well-stocked, so you might ask why the 3-star review? We went back into plumbing to get some items for our project and hit the request help button, but low and behold no one came. We waited 10 minutes and no one came. The employees out in the store were not overly excited to engage customers to help. Worse yet, I heard the manager make repeated announcements every 2 minutes, almost yelling at one point for a member from each department to get out to the parking lot and round up shopping carts. That might explain why no associates could be found in the store. Hint to Lowe's Management Staff, don't encourage all of your employees to leave the store at once and leave your customers hanging. We wanted to purchase LVT or similar, but you guessed it, no one was in the flooring department, so we went to the cash register and checked out. I will say that the Cashier who was sporting a cool camo Veteran Vest is what saved our experience overall. She was friendly, had a good sense of humor, and checked us out quickly. She restored my faith in Lowe's a little bit. I am hoping we caught them on an off night, and that next time we come in the employees that work in the plumbing and flooring department will show up! read more

Due to the Dixie Fire last year 2021 I was forced to move to Shingletown and as such am trying to make the best of a very poor situation. While Shingletown is way down on the scale of livability compared to Lake Almanor I still am trying to make my little spot in the woods decent looking and usable. To this end I researched and purchased the best artificial lawn turf sold by Lowe's as it turns out. On 7/21/22 I paid for this turf "SynLawn Forest 15 ft. Artificial Grass at $38.48 per lin. ft. by 15ft.. I was promised delivery by 7/28. A few days after purchase I noticed the price had increased to $59.33 per lin. ft.. About a 52% price increase to be specific. And to my surprise today is 8/12 - 15 days late and no product delivered, no calls from Lowe's, and no explanation other than a recording it is on the way to the store. Same recording by the way for the past 3 weeks. It is clear to me that since Lowe's is still advertising this product they are trying to do a Bait and Switch and only delivering to the people who pay the now much higher price. Quite a pathetic situation since I try to spread my purchases between HD and Lowe's but I see Lowe's does not feel the same way. More than disgusted and I feel I deserve either the product I purchased or a valid excuse on why they are not delivering my purchase at our agreed upon price on 7/21/2022. read more

Lowe's employees are not always aware of the clearance or sale items in store, when you order online for In store pick up, an employee's becomes aware of the deal, and if you live in an area like this, those employees will cancel your order and buy it themselves. This has happened to me 4 separate times, at this Redding Lowe's. The last time when I went to pick up my item, the customer service rep told me they didn't have stock and my order was cancelled; little to her knowledge , my item was sitting behind her, in stock. Had an interview a week ago for a customer service position. The guy who interviewed me was very unprofessional in regard to his questions and how he held himself in regard to his position he had in the store. His arrogance was very obvious. I do not want to use his name here; he is in his 50's very thin and about 5'10" tall. When waiting for my interview, I noticed that an employee was talking down to another staff member, and I thought to myself, was hoping that he was not going to be interviewing me. And sure, enough he was the person that was going to be interviewing me. His tone is very sarcastic, and he shows it with his body language. I have noticed though that the Lowes here in Redding, CA has a big turn over. There always hiring. So, it kind of tells you something about management. read more

I asked several employees as I purchased the mower about their return policy and everyone said returns were 30 days from purchase. No "gotchas" or gimmicks. The mower was not what I was looking for and because I had opened it, I couldn't return it. This was an extremely expensive mower for us and the way we were treated makes this the final purchase we will ever be doing at any Lowe's. Almost every time I visit this store someone is able to help me find whatever I need. Their prices are competitive and usually better than the other big box store in town. And often they have enough inventory for me to fill a need. The other day I had an odd item I was searching for. When I found the bin for it, there were none in stock (even though online showed 80 pcs). I asked a worker nearby for help. She got a ladder platform, climbed up and dug through the inventory and found enough inventory for me to do my job. She was pleasant and helpful. And that's par for the course in this store.
