I had a facial by Mo on Friday and was amazed at how wonderful my skin looked. On Friday, I put a light foundation on to go to the Symphony and my face glowed. I have had expensive Hydrafacials and Diamond Glow facials at an expensive Spa/Surgical Center. My skin never looked as good as it did after Mo's facial. She never ask the hairdresser or I what services I received, she just charge almost 40% extra (the multiple times I was there) not including tips. BEWARE!! This review is for the special occasion updo service ($65). I was extremely happy with Rachel's styling! I brought in 2 pictures of updos that I like. Though the styles were different (a braided messy bun, and a sideswooped 'do of lots of curls), she worked her magic and combined both for me. The end result looked fantastic, and it only took 45 minutes! I got my hair did around 12:30pm, and the updo lasted all afternoon and night for the wedding that I attended. Not a single strand of hair fell out of place! (Just expect to pull out about 15 bobby pins and wash out some hair spray the next day.) Thanks Rachel! read more

Carolyn is a LIFESAVER!! My daughter got half of my hair stuck in a round hairbrush and I couldn't get it out. I called the salon in a panic right before it closed on a Monday night and they said they could take me in 15 minutes. Carolyn miraculously removed the brush and detangled the rat's nest in less than 30 minutes and I got to keep most of my hair. I was very impressed by the salon itself which is spacious and clean. Not sure what took me so long to try this place. But started going to Mindy for an eyebrow Wax. She does a fantastic job and so personable. Given my daughter is in a wheelchair this place is accessible for her. After speaking to Michelle the very friendly & helpful receptionist given our needs and Renee's thick hair she recommended DiDi. It was meant to be. A fantastic cut with a woman who has a special child herself. She had such patience with Renee. Made any and all accommodations necessary for our visit including the shampoo girl! Typically love this salon, but I had a really bad experience with the stylist Annie. I had gone in for simple haircut and blowdry, and left with my hair frizzy, ugly, and damp. She didn't use any product for heat protection or frizziness after I explicitly asked her to, and then tried to flat iron my wet to get rid of the frizz. I had to go home and use my own products and styling tools to fix it. DO NOT recommend for younger clients. read more

Debra recently cut my hair (Dec. 3rd). After the cut was complete I didn't like it. However, she and the other staff assured me that the cut looked good although I still hated it. It made me feel somewhat better that my daughter said it "wasn't that bad". Of course my daughter only said this to make me feel better. This haircut has been the Bain of my existence since that day and I felt I should write a review of my experience to help others. I had a DevaCut. Debra had cut both my hair and my daughter's before with beautiful results which is why I went to her again. Worst MISTAKE ever! Looking back, I should not have even paid for this cut seeing how it looks nothing like the picture I showed her, it's entirely too short, and most of all it is lopsided. I could handle the length if it was not lopsided. Nothing I do to it makes it look even halfway decent. My hair stretched to the middle of my back before the cut and now it barely reaches further than the base of my neck. The cut she did was what SHE wanted not what I wanted. Now I am going to have to pay someone else to fix the botch job. I did leave a tip mostly because she came in on her day off and I was showing appreciation to that fact but I wish she would have said no and stayed home that day. I am VERY disappointed by this cut and wish I had never entrusted my hair to her.  A mistake I will not make again. read more

I love Carolyn Lorraine Salon. My first time going in was on a Saturday before Christmas. Charmaine (I highly recommend) did a wonderful job! She took her time and made sure I was happy even though I was the last person at the salon. She never made me feel rushed, which I really appreciated. I had surgery 3 days ago and I have limited movement in my arms. At this time, I am unable to wash my hair, and my head was starting to get itchy. My mother, who is a client, called them since she had an appointment today and asked if they could fit me in (I am unable to drive so I am stuck going wherever she goes). They said that they would wash my hair and would not charge me for it. All I had to do is tip the shampoo person. I just want to thank them for their kindness. I felt like garbage, but now feel at least a bit more like a person. read more

I've been going to this Salon since I for forever but recently when I went back the woman who cut my hair did not listen to me at all. She cut off 2 1/2 more inches then I said and I asked for layers and got basically bangs. The worst haircut I have gotten and I am so upset. My review is for Carly. Carly started off by coloring my hair. I made it EXTREMELY clear I wanted the DARKEST shade of brown almost black looking. She agreed, colored my hair and when I washed it out it was a light brown and different colors near my ears. I told her it wasn't the color I asked for and she said not to worry and she'll step it up a notch so she colored it a second time and wanted to charge me twice for the color! Excuse me? You want to charge me twice when she was the one to mess up the first time? It doesn't stop there... she CHOPPED off the whole top of my hair and made me look like I have a mullet. She continuously said I didn't touch the top part of your hair. Really?!?! So the scissor ghost chopped off my hair?!??? My hair WAS all one length until she touched it. Please look at the attached picture. I'm still not done it gets better... she said she'll install the tape in extensions and if I didn't like them she'll take them out.. ok that's fair... so she installed them and they were poorly blended which I notice they were after I took a shower and saw all of my natural length hair shine through. I literally felt like ripping them out, so when I asked her for my money back she promised me she refused. So not only does she not know what she's doing , she'll rob you. I ended up going to Exsolance salon which Tony Odisho owns and sat with him myself and he too agreed what a horrible job she did. He agreed to take them out for me and couldn't be nicer. He asked who installed them and seemed pretty embarrassed his own line of hair wasn't being installed properly. read more

Used to love this place and would go all the time for haircuts and waxes and now I can't believe what I just payed for. Got my haircut asked for 2 inches and they cut off half of my hair probably 4 or 5 inches of it. Then I got my eyebrows wax, the lady didn't even bother waiting for the wax to cool off and applied it burning hot to my face. I left with butchered eyebrows, no lotion or cream for afterwards, she didn't even do the top of them, which i'm glad because she would have burned my forehead, and an extremely overpriced charge. I'm so disappointed in the service I just received and my skin is on fire. read more

I have gone to Carly twice for a balayage. The first time I had no complaints. However, the last time I went in August of 2019 I was completely overcharged, and I found out later that Carly had been overcharging people recently and I wasn't the first person. That time I went to Carolyn Lorraine with a friend and we both got balayage done but hers was $50+ less than mine even though she has more hair. When I went to pay and asked why mine was so much more expensive the women just ignored my question and shrugged. I can not complain about the quality of the work done at this salon, but it is ridiculous that people can charge as much as they want and it is obviously not dependant on the amount of dye used. read more
