BEWARE -- Terrible & Rude Customer Service ORDER OF PHOTOS ATTACHED: -1. Marta's previous balayage on a different guest I showed her I wanted for my VIRGIN hair (I AM STARTING TO BELIEVE THESE ARE NOT HER ACTUAL CLIENT PHOTOS SHE POSTS) -2. ME! At the washing dish.......completely stripped blonde hair that Marta said was "perfect," but suggested a $25 extra fee of toner to neutralize. LOL!!!! -All the other photos are of my hair. There is no comparison to what she did to me and what she posts of her Instagram. I truly think the photos she posts are not of her work. I never thought I'd ever be one to write such a review. The salon experience and customer service I received at Salon Pure 11/5/2019 which continues today 11/20/2019 has been an absolute nightmare. Marta T, NEW owner of Salon Pure seems to have learned her business management skills from the previous owner Adriana. I trusted Marta to balayage my NATURAL, VIRGIN hair from a strong recommendation by a co-worker of mine. I ignored the reviews from when the previous owner Adriana ran the salon but clearly nothing has changed here. To begin my experience, a week prior to my balayage nightmare from OWNER Marta, I came for a quick 1 inch trim and blow out. $85 before tip. No problem, I thought...except for the fact my blow out did not last more than ONE day. I called her the next day and told her I still want to get my balayage done by her but not to do a blowout service. First note, inside salon is COLD. Cold inside on both service days I came. The day I came in for my balayage was 30 degrees outside. *keep this in mind while story continues* I showed Marta what I wanted from her Instagram page (@traveramarta) on an actual balayage she posted that *she* "completed." I told her if it were to turn a *little* more blonde, I would be ok with it. She did NOT show me color swatch book. She proceeded mixing and hand painting the color on my hair and applied plastic wrap in true balayage style. When at washing station and Marta is washing my hair, she said my hair lifted a *beautiful* blonde and I won't need to tone, BUT IF I WANTED TO, it would cost another $25. Weird, I thought...considering I haven't even seen it and she already is talking about how *perfect* it lifted YET there is a fee to tone... I OBVIOUSLY was SHOCKED to see YELLOW bleach blonde stripped hair that Marta claimed was "perfect." I was almost in tears and told her we MUST tone. We went back to the washing station and began toning. When she rinsed out, Marta simply dried my face framing section. It was clearly nothing like the photos I showed her but I thought, it's ok, I can make it work as it was my first time ever coloring my hair. Remember how I said I called the day before about removing the blow out service (which costs $50 and previously only lasted me one day)...well after Marta dried my face frame, she expected me to leave with soaking WET hair in 30 degree weather. I have never been to a salon that does not do a rough dry, which especially seems unheard of after a COLOR SESSION! I had to blow dry my own hair while Marta went on to color another guest. The following days, I would run into friends who ask what happened to my hair. The outcome I am left with was nothing close to a balayage. Marta gave me chunky orange highlights and let me leave thinking I looked GOOD! As of today (11/20), I am ****STILL**** waiting for a refund. I have damage to what was once beautiful, virgin hair. Marta claims it is "virtually impossible to duplicate a hair color," but a TRUE PROFESSIONAL (btw she claims is she a Matrix Educator....I am contacting Matrix over this too...) would LOVE to work with never before processed hair. Marta told me that I am taking advantage of her. My final result and attached photos will tell you differently. My salon service was $145 and I asked her for $200 back. I believe this was reasonable since the correction for HER ERROR will cost more than $145. Marta, OWNER, is GREEDY and has NO customer service skills. She does not reply to me to resolve this amicably and switched from offering me a refund of $145 to saying her FINAL OFFER since I am "TAKING ADVANTAGE OF HER" is $145 of **CREDIT** to come back to her salon. -- LOL NO WAY! This whole situation has been a nightmare and a normal salon owner would admit their MASSIVE error, but instead, here I am, writing this review for the world to see on every platform I can share it on. I cannot see this new salon being successful in Glenview. The business practices are horrendous and the services match. Cheers. read more

I've been going to Marta for years and I have always left happy after leaving her chair. She is very talented at what she does and leaves you feeling like a million bucks. Marta is very busy because of her demand so I asked her for her opinion on who I should use for both my sons haircuts and she suggested Nikki. Apologies if I spelled her name wrong. But, Wow! I am so happy I listened because Nikki is great with both my boys. She gave them the exact cut they wanted and we were very happy! Definitely check this place out! Salon Pure is under new management and has made some updates in the last month. Marta, the business owner has been my go to hair stylist for years. She is detail oriented and she has helped me through various hair transformations, which have been many. It's exciting to see her in the role of salon owner. Purely unprofessional. Adriana ,the salon owner, continues to lose clients and staff with her inability to recognize the life cycle of successful business practices- putting the customer first. She puts her own personal drama above running the business. Late for her own appointments, She doesn't return phone calls after the weekend on appt changes. Northshore clientele won't put up with this behavior long.... No wonder it's always empty in there. Go elsewhere - no stylist is worth so much aggravation. read more

Two stars because I love the products they use, gentle on the hair, organic and smells great! The reason why I won't be returning is bc of the lack of customer service. ! I had highlights done and was left with parts that were totally uneven, contacted the owner and she told me to come in and charged me again to fix her mistake! For first time I had gone there to fix my hair. The owner promised me satisfaction. But after they messed up, she didn't take responsibility and kicked me out l, refuse to help and treading me with calling police! On the consultation day I wrongly felt friendly and trusted her words, but she called me nasty names when I asked her to help me fix it. She is a terrible person which has no manner to treat people with respect. Avoid her if you want to have peace in your life. read more

Love this salon. Adriana is great. She does color and cut/style and I have been happy with the results every time.
