We stopped in for some coffee during the First Friday of 2026. I got the Son of a Nutcracker Latte speciality drink and it was delicious on a cold night in downtown Canton. The customer service was great, super friendly staff. The atmosphere of the coffee shop was very pleasant, inviting and comfortable. We will definitely be going back. read more

A very nice find and space for coffee and breakfast. The owners are extraordinary people who work hard, make GREAT coffee and pastries, and have such a lovely vibe here! I spent a little extra time here today, getting to know them. There was a fundraising event for local women and I learned while I was there that this is not the only event they do to give back to the community. Carpe Diem is a lot better than expected. I thought the atmosphere wouldn't be that great. That was because of judging its location. It's in an office building. The menu is simple and they are friendly. It's in the middle of downtown Canton. It's not a a pretty area but it's been improving. There's not that much interesting around here except the Canton Brewing Company. It's right around the corner. The coffee menu has most of the common stuff. A latte is about $2 for a medium. They have several non dairy mills. In addition to coffee there's also some food. They have several vegan snacks like the almond butter treats. It's a good place in downtown Canton. It brings some much needed business. They are a great small business that needs support. read more

People are super nice and feels as is like small town coffee shop. :) I'm from Cincinnati here for the HOF fashion show and stopped in here to grab a cup of joe to keep me going... the really nice guy behind the counter was funny and when I told him I'm new/ not from here he started asking what I normally drink, flavors, etc... This is a cute little place, tucked into a building in downtown Canton. I was in the area for work, and wanted a light lunch before heading back out. Figured I'd walk around the block, see what might be open. Glad I did! The staff is laid back and friendly and I got so tickled hearing the phone ring and the answer, "Carpe Diem!" several times. ANYWAY. They have all the coffee, and I had a delicious avocado toast and a scone for the road. It looks like they serve local everything, which is great. This place is awesome. I've never been a coffee shopper kinda person but wow! Coffee is coffee, Latte is latte but it's the SERVICE and atmosphere this little place dishes up that is so outstanding. Exceptionally friendly - my friend and I are new here yet the staff spoke with us as friendly as if we were regulars. We have been coming here from Ann Arbor for about 6 years, every Labor Day weekend while in Canton for a family reunion. Our trip is not complete until my husband and I go with our four daughters stop by Carpe Diem! We look forward to trying the latest beverages, treats, seeing the updates to the store and chatting with the owners. The recent addition of a glass-covered restored fire door to the classy, eclectic environment was a nice touch.There is such a very welcoming environment there, fostered by the owners, Patrick and Cathy. I will be honest! This place is a treat, even if its only 15 minutes for a quick coffee or a sandwitch or Feista Rice from BAM! I like the lounge area in the back and if I'm meeting someone I can sit up front at multiple tables without loud music or someone trying to sing or rap at a open mic night or in some places everynight! Winter Fantasy is a latte (although I suppose they could flavor a hot chocolate or a mocha in the same flavor) with cinnamon, vanilla and maple (hope that's correct!) and it was delicious. They have LIGHT whipped cream, which only has 1g fat, but all the flavor, and they understand that there is a milk between NONFAT and FULL FAT. Friend had a caramel latte and another friend had a regular coffee and both were pleased. The decor is inviting and there are little fun things for sale. Found this place while poking around downtown Canton. I got a large black house blend which was so smooth. Amazing flavor. Also had a pumpkin spice coffee cake which was moist and flavorful. I could have eaten a few more. The atmosphere is relaxing and laid back; the staff is super friendly. There's no free wifi as far as I could tell, but that's not deal breaker for me. Would recommend as an afternoon relax spot to get out of the office by yourself or a few friends. read more

It was a pretty cold day and I sat in the back and warmed up with coffee (which I don't drink that much) and read for awhile. The coffee was excellent. The space is fun. Stumbled across this coffee shop when I was looking for a place to work on my computer and the library wasn't open yet. Cute little place and very affordable. I got a small cappuccino for $2. Wifi works great. Being an out of towner, this place seems like a great community hangout. While I was in here there was a group of women drinking coffee and chatting with the owner. I absolutely love Cafe Carpe Diem. I had never been there before but, I heard it was a nice welcoming cafe so I figured I'll try it. First, I can say the cafe is very beautiful and has a warm vibe whenever you step in. I LOVE that is located in downtown canton. Secondly, the customer service was GREAT. I asked who owned the place and the nice lady behind the counter said she did! I was even more shocked that she was working behind the counters getting her hands dirty. How can you not love that? A "hands own" owner. She was very kind to me, didn't put pass any judgment, and even shared a few words of encouragement to a young inspiring business owner. Lastly, the quality of products are wonderful. The coffee taste very good. I had a MOCHA with soy, it was very good. Along with a parfait from a local business called BAM! I love Carpe Diem!! Their coffee is very high-quality (and costs less than Starbucks) and their syrups don't contain high-fructose corn syrup which is important to me. The shop is adorable and has a great atmosphere. You can even get packed lunches to-go. The owners are so friendly and know how to make you feel welcome. They work very hard to be the best in Canton and it sure pays off! Carpe Diem also sells their beans (pre-ground or whole) if you prefer making your coffee at home. This is a very comfortable Mom and Pop coffee store. The vintage detail and love put into the design is a unique experience. I absolutely loved my coffee Cathy recommended.
