When the installer team came out, they did not replace the boards and told me new boards were unnecessary. I was still charged for the board replacements anyway. I disputed this directly with the company on March 19th, the day of the installation, and did not receive a follow-up. I had to reach back out on March 31st to continue addressing the issue. At that point, they asked for photos, despite my earlier explanation that photos would not prove anything because of the nature of the work. Today, they responded by saying the pictures were "not proof" and agreed to issue a refund, but only after I pushed the issue. At that point, it's no longer just about the money. It's about integrity, poor internal communication, and how a legitimate customer concerns are handled by this business.

This project was not an exciting "Lets update our 20 year old bathroom and make it stylish and pretty". Instead the project started due to an undetected leak, the stress that comes from random water leaking in random places, and was filled with questions and concerns. Countless others "assured" me that this was a plumbing issue or just due to some neglected maintenance on a 5 year old new-install shower - and then wanted to blast holes everywhere to "find" the leak. At the same time, I did not want to rip apart a shower to then find out it might be plumbing and now a full on repair. I felt overwhelmed in making the wrong choice and doing 2 projects chasing my tail. Lucas walked me through all the typical scenarios that he has seen, leaning on the most probably is a structural fail of the shower system and then did a methodical exploration. A couple hours later and a minimal demo, he confirmed that it was in fact not plumbing related and was def. a failure of the shower system -- and walked me through what it would take. Once his team was onsite, they were focused - creating a whole "clean room" at the entry to the bathroom. 1 day demo, 1 day water-proof, 2 days tile - all while providing the proper time for dry-out and leak testing between steps. Lucas is a perfectionist, being critical on the most minor details -- which to someone that also strives for this level, but has no idea what they are looking for, was very much appreciated. Additionally, he has instilled this value in his team - that are true craftsman with their skill. Each step of the process was walked through, discussed, and made sure we understood the task, goal, and expectations. Then DLM roofing should be first on your list to call to get an estimate from. DLM roofing is as good as it gets! Their workmanship is second to none and they get the job done on time and within the budget. Case in point. My historic home needed a new slate roof. Slate tiles are hard to install as they are heavy and care needs to be taken not to chip or crack the tiles. DLM roofing did a great job of putting on the new roof, putting in all new copper flashing and installing the "gutter guards" that are necessary in our climate for natural stone roofs to break up the ice in the winter.. Given that slate roofs last 80-100 years- the beauty of this roof will last for future generations in the house. They also do amazing custom copper work in terms of copper gutters, scupper boxes, raised seam roofs and overhangs, all of which they crafted for my old house. I love the fact that Enrique (the owner) wants to impress his clients so much that if he cannot find something that is right for your house- his workers will craft it for you. For me- those ended up being the scupper boxes which frame the front of my house like earrings on a woman's face. Scupper boxes (or leader heads as they are often called) are the ornamentation that you often see on old Victorian and English homes as part of the downspouts. Enrique brought me several pre-made ones to choose from but they were all too fancy for my simple style home. So he and his team custom crafted new scupper boxes based on a picture I had of my house from the 20's. They matched perfectly! I love the attention to detail that DLM roofing goes through to make sure everything is perfect. At one point, there was a craftsman making custom copper seam covers for the corner ornamentation with a hammer and anvil in my backyard!! Not the kind of thing you're going to find at Home Depot- that's for sure! If your roofing needs are simpler, DLM also does asphalt shingling and repairs. Custom crafted roofs and gutter systems are not for everyone nor does every house require them. But if you are restoring an old home or building a new one that requires more than "just a roof"- let DLM bid on your job. Their work is second to none and I've recommended them time and time again with outstanding results.
