I recently had new carpeting installed in my living room, dining room and both bedrooms. I want to acknowledge an employee of yours that did the work. I was fortunate enough to have had Kevin. This young man was polite and professional. As I wasn't staying at home when the carpet was being laid, Kevin called my Sisters house ( where I was staying) almost every day, keeping us informed on his progress. When I was finally able to go home and walked into the house, I was extremely pleased with the outcome. Kevin did a wonderful job. Since I'm elderly and disabled, Kevin even went as far as to move my refrigerator back into its spot and also, a big heavy dresser back into the bedroom. Prior to putting new carpeting into my home, he had done my Father's house which we recently put on the market. That is how I became aware of Kevin. I will end this by saying that good employees are hard to find. You struck gold when you hired Kevin. Thank you Carpet Depot for having an employee such as Kevin. We got brand new carper 5 or so years ago on our rental. Now we see sides that are pulled up from the wall, seams splitting and unraveled carpet in corners. I know 5 years is a long time, but this is ridiculous. We will not get carpet from this company anymore. This kind of stuff is all over the house. They have lost a good customer. read more

The owner's son removed the old carpet and installed new carpet in 3 bedrooms. After rolling up the old carpet in one bedroom, he left a big mark on the freshly painted wall when the rolled up end rubbed up against the wall that I didn't notice at first. A neighbor came over after the old carpet was removed and asked for some of it for her goats. It was enough that I should have received a reduction in the dump fees. He left a number of small holes at the base of the wall while installing the new carpet in the master bedroom. In the master bedroom he did a sloppy job at the door entering the bathroom. It overlaps the floor plate and I notice it each time I leave the bathroom. I would not recommend to family or friends. read more

The Victorian Inn and Redwood Suites have used this business for 20 years and their product, pricing and customer service is outstanding.

I had a previous owners bid by "JR" in hand and was ready to purchase. The front desk woman on the phone was abrupt and kept insisting this was Carpet Depot I had called. I said yes and the sales person was "JR". She refused to send anyone out to measure with samples until I walked in the door. I do not drive. I was ready to buy. They lost a sale of three rooms. This place doesn't have enough competition so they pick and choose their customers based on who doesn't need much service at all. Heaven help a person who needs someone to come out and measure and bring samples because they are disabled. This place stinks. read more

After a rough decade of hard renters, my poor house needed a lot of love. Carpet Depot worked with me while I was out of the area to replace the carpet in 3 bedrooms and the living/great room. They were professional, timely and skilled. Based on that performance, I called them back to install new laminate in the kitchen and back bedrooms. They went above and beyond, even taking the time fix the imperfections in my floor to complete what can only be described as an absolutely professional job. They installed carpet in my house and left a big visible seam with a gap between the two carpet parts in the middle of my living room. One worker came out and said they flipped the carpet pieces and the two naps were going different directions making it look two different colors. Woops...When I complained they flipped the pieces and then left the big gap. I called again. The owner said they had to leave the gap/seam there and I just didn't know carpet mechanics. This is the third carpet I have had put in this house and I have never before had a seam down the middle of the living room. He just wanted to convince me it was normal and I just didn't understand. Being a female and all...... Taking them to small claims court but having someone else repair the carpet. Go elsewhere! read more

I couldn't be any more happier with the carpet we chose and the wonderful service we received. From start to finish everything was professionally handled and prompt with no surprises. They have a big showroom with plenty of options to pick from (carpet, hardwood, vinyl, etc.) and they work with you and more importantly, your budget. It was great dealing with Janeen at the showroom. She was patient, gracious and taught us quite a bit before we made our decision. We were also very grateful as she really did her best to get us all setup because we were in a bit of a time crunch. I also cannot say enough about the crew that came in and installed our carpets -- they were FANTASTIC! Hardworking, courteous, and fast but VERY thorough (especial thanks to NATE). They did a clean job and it was not necessarily an" easy" install with our funky stairs and patterned carpet. Anyhow, as we get situated here in Humboldt, I'm glad to see locally owned businesses like this. Fair prices and good product. I've never been treated so rudely by a professional business. I visited the store twice with questions about my residential floor job. The customer service was perfunctory, but not friendly. After asking several questions about pricing, I formulated a rough budget before the owner came and measured. His customer service demeanor also left much to be desired and his estimates did not match what the store had quoted. After still pursuing the install and purchase (was going to spend $2,500), I exchanged an email with the company (was routed to yet another customer service agent). I politely asked a few questions in one email and requested to schedule on a certain date; they responded that they were "respectfully pulling their bid." This is the first time I've EVER written a Yelp review b/c I'm so completely shocked by their unprofessional behavior. I understood they thought I was a pain, but I still pursued the job b/c it's my right to ask questions about prices - $2,500 is a lot of money - I don't know what else those women in the store are for, if not to ask questions about products and prices. I am also a local business owner and was polite and professional in all my communications. I cannot believe how much of my time was wasted by dealing with Carpet Depot. I hope others don't have the same experience. I don't know how they're still in business. read more

I had Andrew and Vern install 1600 sq feet of Burke's Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring in my entire home 1 1/2 years ago. They did a beautiful job on the installation and I was very pleased with the service I received while making the purchase. Janene helped me in the store. Basically I had the Burke's LVP in my home where I previously lived and wanted the same pet friendly flooring in my new home. She was very helpful and the guys did a fabulous job. It was during the holidays and they were busy so I did have to wait, but it was better install than in my old home from someone else. I am in town from Sacramento to help my dad get a few things done at my grandmother's house. First on the list was carpet. We were referred to Carpet Depot by a family friend. The estimator came out to the house at a time when I could not be there & my dad was called into work. By elderly grandma was very sick & distraught, the estimator made my grandmother tea & brought it to her on the couch. At that moment we knew we didn't need any other estimates but that we were going to go with this heart warming company! When the guy came out to install the carpet, he also, was very wonderful! He did his job promptly, correctly & was very wonderful to talk to. His name was Pete, and we called the office to make sure we got Pete as our installer for the second day of installation. If we could have Pete to do all of our handy work at the house you better believe we would! Carpet depot is lucky to have an employee like him!
