He used a grinder on the floor, I think that's what it's called... I paid extra for a vapor seal to keep out moisture, totally worked, then I got a coat of epoxy. I think it lasts 5 years or so before I can think about another coat. 1 coat worked well for me, but I'm interested in 2 coats in the future & maybe some decorative fancy flecks of color. Right now mine is gray to match the water heater perfectly. The glossiness is incredible. After I cut the grass I'm HOT, but I can lay on the floor, no one is watching, and it's so nice and cool. Cools me. That brilliant floor makes me want to use the garage more! I even moved a small tv out there. It's much easier to sweep the floor, & makes the space so much nicer. I highly recommend them.

Superior Floors to the rescue!!…read more Before moving into our new house, we had the tile replaced with vinyl plank (LVP) by another company, who really screwed up one of the rooms. There was a giant soft spot since they started removing the tile but then stopped and just laid the vinyl planks over the tile, including the big hole they left. We went round and round with the first company to try getting them to fix it, until they just stopped showing up or returning phone calls. I found Superior Floors on Yelp and called them to see if they would be willing to fix someone else's mistake. Ryan came out to evaluate the situation and came up with a plan. A couple of weeks later, the installers came out, removed the poorly laid vinyl planks, removed the tile that was supposed to have been removed by the previous company, and reinstalled the planks. The floor is now solid and looks great! I appreciate their willingness to come out for a smaller job and fix someone else's mistake. They'll be my go-to for the future!

Their showroom off of Silver Star Road is quaint and cozy, but they were able to show us more samples of Luxury Vinyl Flooring than ANY other shop we went to in the area (including SCS and Floor & Decor). Shane, the third generation of this family owned business, was warm and welcoming from the get go. He gave us a thorough education on the various options and their differences, explaining the pro's and con's of each as they related to our lifestyle. While our job won't be done until September, when we told our family that we were going to use Ability, they were immediately thrilled! Apparently Ability did their own floors (along with 30+ residential and commercial projects for friends and family), but sent us elsewhere because they didn't realize they also had EVP flooring!! Little did we know, we've stepped foot across an Ability Wood Floor EVERY day for years in the homes of our family, friends, and neighbors. When picking up my flooring from the warehouse, a forklift accidentally made contact with the tailgate of my truck. While the damage was ultimately resolved through insurance, it was an inconvenience. After the flooring had been installed for a few months, some boards cracked at a joint when a dresser was moved across the floor. I believed this issue would be covered under warranty, however, despite several attempts to request an inspection, I have not received a response.

I used Better Business Bureau to find local remodeling companies. I did this because I trust the BBB and I wanted a company which I would not pay if the job was not completed in accordance with the contract and my expectations; also, another reason to not hire a "friend." I called several companies and among all my projects, I had 11 quotes. I did not choose the cheapest. I chose the company that was the most responsive and seemed eager to do my work. I am glad I did. I choose Tile Metrics, located in Oviedo. I went to the shop and met with staff. My wife and I were able to choose all our products from this location. The store seems small and quite busy. Don't let that fool you. They have so much product and ideas to offer. Now to the important part. From beginning to end, the company stayed in contact with me. They emailed and sometimes called me almost daily to coordinate work, projects, and keep me informed. This was exactly what I wanted. They are also a one-stop shop in that they do almost all the work themselves. No separate contractors to deal with, just one single point of contact. Most of the work was done by an in-house crew, which if you do not know, is very important. The worker men that came to my house were clean cut, polite, professional, and did top notch work. Can you imagine having a remodel with almost no complaints? All you hear are horror stories about remodeling your home. Tile Metrics took care of everything. They did all the flooring in my house, including removing old tile and hardwood floors (dustless), new kitchen quartz countertops and back splash. Moved plumbing and electrical. Installed new toilets in 2 bathrooms. And a complete master bath remodel with everything new. The work was done quickly without delay. Once they started, they stayed on my project until it was done. For the parts of the projects they did not do in-house, the subs were equally good. As for price, they were fair and probably in the middle to lower end of all my quotes. I have no complaints, which is rare of me. I will be hiring Tile Metrics again in the future to complete more projects at my home, as soon as I save up more money.
