When the crew showed up in the morning (about 8:30), they started to removed the old, follow by clean up the floor, then put up the new, I was there from the beginning to the end, it was amazing when it's all done around 3:00pm, they were quick, efficient, and what I was most impress was they pay attention to small details, and that completely changed what I think about contractors (some bad experience from others). I highly recommend BFE for anyone's flooring need, and forget about big chain store such as Home Depot or Lowes, BFE is where you need to go first, you'll be happy, I know we did!!! Not sure what happened or why they apparently shunned us…read more Had passed their store on Pico Blvd. for decades, and when it came time to replace our carpet, we wanted to go to a reliable company with a long track record. So I called, and then visited the store (trekking from Encino to Beverly Hills) and they were very nice. Met with Evan Biren, whose father and uncle had started the place about 70 years ago. He was knowledgeable and patient, and we came up with a few options to consider for our home . He had samples sent to our home on a timely basis and also sent a woman to measure our home. This is not a small job, over 200 yards and we weren't looking for cheap carpet (the two other estimates came in around $20K). So we were surprised when we didn't get an estimate whatsoever. Multiple calls to Evan -- ten days after the woman who measured had visited our home -- were unreturned. I'm disappointed and confused. Our interactions with him were, in my opinion, very friendly. Not sure why they chose not to bid on this job...maybe they only want business from people on the westside? He just ghosted us. Maybe we dodged a bullet? If it's like pulling teeth to get an estimate on the front end of a job, what would have happened if we had some sort of issue AFTER it had been installed? So, the three stars are based on a 5 star performance when we visited the store, and a one (or zero) star performance thereafter. Like I said, I would have appreciated the opportunity to do business, but perhaps Encino just isn't cool enough for a Beverly Hills store.
