Ordered carpet 8/2024. Called to see what was taking so long, only to be told it was sitting in their warehouse. Scheduled to be installed 10/1-2/2024. No one showed up on the first. I called, received no explanation, was assured they would come on the second. They weren't here by noon. I called again. They came at 11:30 and did a 2-day job in 4 hours. I believe there is a huge gap in communication and scheduling here. After 6 weeks of waiting for a phone call we had requested 3 times, we called about several issues. Someone was sent out to glue and repair some areas that were missed. He asked how old the carpet was. I said it was installed in October. He thought I meant the previous year, 2023. That is because after just 6 weeks, it looks worn. He was shocked. He reported this to Bryan, who came out to check for himself. He said the carpet needs to be vacuumed 3-4 times a week. He also said the seams will not be noticeable after a time. He said he would check back with us after the first of the year. It is now 2/2025. Haven't heard anything. Seams still show and looks even more worn. My research shows me Shaw carpet has issues. Tip bloom is when the fibers bloom or bush out. This was never mentioned before purchasing. I would think the more you vacuum it, the more it will bloom. Bottom line is..... I cannot recommend Shaw carpet. Do your research BEFORE buying. read more

Overall I am pleased with our carpet purchase and installation. My husband and I visited the store in November looking to replace our living room carpeting and put hard surface flooring in our dining room. We wanted it to look nice but not overspend because we will be moving soon. The person who helped us at the store (Ryan) greeted us right away. He listened to our needs and showed us good options and respected our budget. We went home with some samples. Once we made the decision on coverings they were able to set up installation. We decided to save money to rip up the old carpeting ourselves. This allowed us to save enough to get a better carpet pad. The carpet and the hardwood were scheduled to be installed on separate days a week apart. This was fine with us. The only problem I had was the installers were late arriving both times. By hours. Don't get me wrong they were very nice gentlemen and they did a good job. But if you have a scheduled time, you should arrive at the scheduled time. I am happy with the floor coverings and the cost. I would go here again. read more

We just wanted to post a shout out for Erik and the other Carpetland staff. We bought an area rug, that didn't work for our space. Snowstorms kept us away (it's 1.5 hr) for more than a month but they were so kind and understanding with the return. We are remodeling and will need all new flooring. Although there are closer businesses, we may make the drive. Erik was very informative and not a pushy salesman. read more

I'm excited that I can change this review from a 1 Star to a.4. I'd give them a 5 - but they don't carry the carpet I need. What started as very frustrating - they not telling me I couldn't return and non used boxes - ended very well. They responded to my review and made it right - which is all o could expect. It is not possible for me to give a favorable review. My condo was measured for carpeting throughout and vinyl flooring in the 2 baths and kitchen. The salesman who did the "free measuring and estimate" for the flooring neglected to add the kitchen install to my contract. I admit I assumed the kitchen install was included on the contract I signed. After waiting a month for an install date, I find out on the day my bathroom install took place, from the installer, that a kitchen install was not on his job order. After contacting Carpetland, they informed me that the salesman who measured my condo had left their employ, and not in a favorable dismissal. He took with him any measurement and detail of my install. I was informed that to complete the kitchen, it would cost me another $420. I, course had to agree to get the job done, but I still feel I overpaid in all the confusion. The only "Plus" side of the whole experience with Carpetland, was the wonderful installer(s). They worked with me to get the job done!! read more

I went to Carpetland to find flooring for bathroom . I did pick the flooring I wanted and brought back sample. As it took awhile because of covid and not getting items in but finally got it The people there were nice but when installed not happy about the entrance and base board. Finally got ahold of Joey who got ahold of Brian Downing or should I say my daughter got ahold of them. Brian after finding out about this came down and did everything to make it right with me because it wasnt right . I am happy to say it looks great and Brian is the greatest. Brian layed carpet many years and now manager and he is from the old school to do a good job and make the customer happy. I know would recommend them to anyone. I know I will be taken care of and so appreciate what Bryan did and the the kindness and careing he has. You can advertise but word of mouth gets a good bussiness and without that the bussiness wont be good. Thank you Bryan for your help They are lucky to have you. So appreciate you read more

If anyone is looking to put new floors in your house, don't choose Carpetland in Cedar Rapids. I had them measure my house for wood floors and paid them for them. The man that sold me the floors told me he included everything in the measurements. I waited three months and today they were installed. My husband called me at work and told me that the master bedroom wasn't included and now we had to pay an extra $3500 to complete the job. My husband called and asked the salesman (Phil) why he didn't include the bedtoom, and he told him because most people want carpet in their bedroom. I called him and told him that he told me everything was included. He said he didn't know why he didn't include the bedroom. I dont have an extra $3,500 to fix his mistake. I am telling you this because I spent a lot of money for floors that they messed up. They won't stand behind their mistake. I wanted to tell people so they won't get taken like we did. read more

Salesmen in store and over the phone were pretty rude and not helpful. But if you can out up with that, measuring, estimates, and ordering were quick and easy. Also a very large selection in a wide price range. Finding a time for installation took longer than I expected, it seems like they don't have a big crew that does their installations, but it looks beautiful and feels great. Old carpet was taken away and everything, very hassle free. If you can put up with rude customer service, I'd recommend. read more

Seems that every carpet place has mixed reviews. Maybe it comes down specifically to WHO you deal with? If that's the case, I hit the jackpot at Carpetland. Shelly knows what the hell she's doing when she sells you carpet. Before being in sales, she tore out old and installed new carpet for years. She combines that experience with great listening skills and patience; finding a variety of carpet options without being overwhelming. She truly wants the customer to be happy. She did the measuring, then called several times to keep me apprised of things in between ordering and installation. And the installers for my job, Neff and Ky, were punctual, safe, and professional. They respected the fact that they were working in someone's home. They worked quickly but not erratically. They cleaned up after the install. And they could not have been nicer people. Carpetland is lucky to have these three professionals. Hope you hit the jackpot too. read more

Had water damage to carpet downstairs and requested somone to meausre and we would order new pad for install. Took several calls and several weeks to get out to measure and once measured they never called us back to set up installation. Disorganized, unprofessional, and only interested in the "big" jobs. Won't be going back....ever. read more

Just left the store a little bit ago. Worst service ever. My wife and i were the only people in the store. Two guys working there. One older and one younger. They did nothing to help us what so ever. They were actually just watching and talking about the weather with each other. Nice selection of carpet though if your into over paying and waiting for any of it to be ordered. read more
