zero stars, bad business, horrible customer service, sorry dalene, just calling you out, fitting…read moresince you never returned my calls either! so, cheap, yesssss, it was a warehouse. shitty product, double yesssssss! should you stay away????? yesssssssssssssss serves us right for thinking a company stood behind their product, dalene obviously doesnt, so maybe you shouldnt STAND on theirs! (OMG, im so good with yelpuns!) history. wife went looking for a new floor several months ago. she did her due diligence going to ANY flooring store in connecticut and landed on a few options, this seemed to be the most appropriate. seeing that we were on a budget, went to try their warehouse in hartford. getting in isnt easy, you need to make an appointment, but so it is sometimes. mike met us out there a couple days later and answered our questions, pretty hands off, but available should we ask anything (should have asked do you stand by your shitty product!) found something we liked, biggest concern was keeping it under 3 a sqft and loaded up the minivan (they did help us bring it out to the loading dock) and we loaded up out 700$ of new flooring and brought it back to the house. we unloaded, let it acclimate and then off to install, and curse, and lots of cursing!! the product kept breaking with little effort, after 8 (EIGHT!) boxes worth of attempts, we figured out this wasnt going to work. either the product snapped with install, or it popped apart if we could get a line done. finally after DAYS of effort down the crapper we knew this wasnt going to work and we needed an alternative. let me also put this in writing, this is a warehouse, its final sale. silly us as we assumed it wasnt going to be broken from the go, so in this case, i would have expected some sort of consideration, maybe just take back the unopened product, sure we were going to eat the 8 boxes of broken attempts, but at least its something back for money basically left to burn on the front lawn. ultimately we went with costco, yep, they sell flooring. Life Pro Tip, if you pick it up, its way cheaper then shipping (about $2.50 a sqft). after getting their product, the LVT snapped as it should, and off we went, took about 4 days non stop to get it installed, but 3 months later, still looks fantastic and better yet, we realized it wasnt our ability, it was Dalenes inferior product. well, as you would expect, we tried for MONTHS to get ahold of the GM, no returned calls or emails. i gotta tell ya, shocking considering how 'great' they were with follow up before they got our money. I even went into the manchester store and spoke with brian, he assured me someone was going to give me a call, only fair and respectful (his words) well, 3 weeks later, im still waiting and since they dont care, i figured i would share with the fine viewers of the internet. still looking for a flooring company? try costco! I stand by my flooring review (ok, i did use it twice, but its clever!)

I'm talking about my daughter here.. just what was she thinking is beyond me. Any trip to a Home Depot will leave you broke not to mention we should all try to support our local small businesses, as in what is left of them here in CT. Dalene Flooring Outlet Center has a great selection of tile, wood and carpet choices from basic to unique. Michael Leite was knowledgeable with a no fuss easy attitude. He was helpful without crowding me or trying to push a more expensive product over another. Offered a discount as I choose to purchase a padded carpet square to ease the hurt on my wallet without any haggeling or other sales gimmick which was much appreciated. You can't go wrong checking out this place if you are in need of decent flooring wether its for your businesses or residential and you want to stay cost concience. "Gimme three steps, gimme three steps, mister Gimme three…read moresteps towards the door?" (Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!

Staining and refinishing floors and an entire wall of 70sq ft of tile. We had a major issue : matching the new wood floors' stain to the existing 100 year old floors. Eddie came out for a 1 hour consultation, and not only had techniques and products to help encourage the high and low lights of the new wood grain to match the existing floors, but also knew the finishing products to encourage the aged patina. After our professional home kitchen build firm couldn't find a flooring specialist in their expansive network who were even willing to try to meet our needs, I found Elite flooring by chance. Eddie and his team scored a home run with accuracy, professionalism, precision, and work ethic. His team completed the job under budget and ahead of schedule. Not one inch of our custom cabinets or appliances were damaged, and the clean up was impressive. The tile backsplash again was a precise job, and he finished it ahead of schedule and under budget. Three guys, one day, left my home all day and would even trust these guys to babysit! I will be having Elite flooring back to refinish the floors in rest of my house, and to do bathrooms. Katie, who mans the Murphy Rd showroom is spot on accurate and helpful, and the entire process was a dream. If only they did more than floors and tiles!!

One of the quotes we received was from a big box store, and I do not recommend. On top of taking forever to receive, their specialist told us they couldn't do something that Epstein said was absolutely no issue. The two men who came to do measurements for Epstein Brothers were clearly professionals to the point that this was second nature to them - bouncing ideas off of each other on the spot, keeping me in the loop with their suggestions, making sure anything I decided on was something that wouldn't need to be changed down the road (for example, making sure we weren't redoing the downstairs bathroom anytime soon before they custom cut vinyl planks around the existing vanity and toilet). The installer that showed up was incredibly professional, efficient, and even helped my husband move a heavier object to make room for the new carpeting. The salesperson who helped us decide which carpet and vinyl we were going with in the showroom was also incredibly helpful. Not a single person was pushy, and they were all honest and upfront with what was and wasn't a good idea. We will definitely be going to Epstein when we inevitably need to redo the kitchen and upstairs bathroom. They earned a customer for life out of me!
