If you encounter an unforeseen problem (we did), the co-owner, Rich Dalene, is very accommodating in working through the problem with you. A word of advice: Carpet is a huge investment. Make sure the carpet you choose is compatible with your vacuum cleaner - or be prepared to buy one that is. If not, you could find that trying to push your vacuum over your new, soft, thick, or high pile carpet is a real chore. We recommend Dalene's and would purchase from them again.

Steven, the owner stopped over to take a look at our floor, measure etc. I was a bit thrown off when he asked where he should send the estimate as our builder Elzear was 100% going to stand behind his worker that caused the damage and pay Dalene whatever the cost was. Not sure he understands it was Dalene that came up with the idea of waiting until the entire floors need a refinishing to take care of our punch list item (This should have been relayed to Elzear by Dalene so he would not be surprised years later since it was Dalene's proposition) I.e. The refinishing in front of our refrigerator that that was damaged when our builder installed it. We lived with the marred surface on our brand-new home only to have Dalene not come through on their what seemed to be reasonable, albeit now to be more of a delay tactic idea on waiting.

(Lynyrd Skynyrd) After we had our hardwood floors and steps sanded and refinished, we decided to pretty up those steps with a carpet runner, which explains why we visited Galaxy Discount Carpet Store today. That decision ended up being a FIVE STAR experience. Their two floor showroom is just incredible! Sample boards, rolls stacked on the floor in rows, area rugs hanging from the ceiling, gorgeous stuff everywhere. We met with Charlie and explained to him what we were looking for. He said that staircase runners can either be pre-manufactured in big rolls, or custom cut from carpeting meant for rooms. We knew we wanted a runner in some shade of gray to complement our wall color, and decided on a carpet runner to be cut from a big grayish roll and then finished with black binding along the edges, to complement the black stair rail and contrast with the white stair risers. It was installed 72 hours later, and that was pretty amazing in it's own right. Communication with Galaxy was great. Charlie was a dream to work with, the installers called us the day before install to confirm the date and time window, and the van with two workers arrived as scheduled mid-afternoon and did a neat professional job on the install. Charlie's price was $140 less than one we had from a flooring company out in our neck of the woods, and the carpet quality was better at Galaxy. Everything went well, and the stairs look great!

Next day Scott with 2 canes and his helper AJ came and Scott insisted he walk up 13 stairs To get the job done. I live In Simsbury a good drive away. I set him in a chair in the doorway and he gave AJ the plan In 2.5 hrs job was compleated and Scott 70 plus years old 2 canes with me in the front walked down 13 stairs to his truck. His company 45 years old AJ and Scott should get A Medal!!! Never seen more determination in a human in my life.
