Stopped in with hubby for an early dinner. Restaurant appeared clean and welcoming. Pros: Greeter was welcoming and server was nice and efficient. Resolved issues that arose during our visit. Cons: Bathroom smelled like a sewer...very off putting. Food came out before appetizer and both apps and food were cold. Server fixed the issue appropriately. Started coming to this spot 13 years ago (when we moved to the area) based on a recommendation from the front desk guy at the adjacent hotel. Picked up dinner on Saturday and once again they met or exceeded our expectations. I had a trio (chicken parm, lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo). Partner tried a new spring linguine dish with chicken. Both meals were excellent! The order was ready even before they said it would be! As usual, had enough food for lunch (or dinner) the next day. They offer delicious eats that are amazing and not on the regular menu with great wine pairings. They even give you an extra tasting for each wine. The food is always good however the service continues to go down. The last two times we have been and I have order a glass of wine so I could get the signature charcuterie topper, they have been out. I find this to be poor planning on management. If this is something you offer with every glass and suggest pairings then you should ensure you have the products offered. read more

Hats off to the Waldorf location. I catered a christmas luncheon at my home. I easily went to the website and ordered the best spread ever. The food was so delicous and hot, ready to serve. I found this restaurant over a decade ago. My daughter and I would come and I recall that the customer service was always surprisingly stellar. I say surprisingly because as far as local chain restaurants go, the young adults they usually find to serve are normally subpar. I stopped coming many years ago but yesterday had a craving. And the service is still stellar! I had Skylar this time and her level of attention was superb--not too much but just enough to allow me an excellent dining experience. So many servers get this wrong. They're either doing too much or much too little. They don't realize that they should correct an issue and so many other simple things that can leave a customer unhappy. Skylar wasn't perfect but wayyyy better than I expected. I don't go often but would now easily return. We made our way to Carrabba's after being completely ignored by the employees at the Chili's down the road. When we first got there they told us that the bartender wasn't in, but luckily for us, she arrived right after we did. I got their holiday drink, which was served in an ornament, that you got to keep. It was really cute and tasted good too. All of the food we had was delicious, especially the calamari. Chelsea and Clay both went out of their way to make sure that our experience there was good, since we had such a terrible time at the other place before we ended up there. While dinning at the bar during happy hour I ordered TWO small bites off the happy hour menu. It took an hour and 20 to receive my food. The bartender was very apologetic and checked numerous of times to see if the food was ready. The manager was very polite as well but didn't offer any reasonable explanation as to why the food would take that long. The food was nasty the chicken seemed to be refried so it wasn't edible at all. The shrimp appetizer was ok. The only thing that was decent was the drinks and the service the bartender provided. read more

We ended up at Carrabba's on a whim after traveling out to Waldorf for some shopping. I honestly had no idea this restaurant was even close to the DC commuting area, and haven't had it in years. We arrived around lunch time, and it wasn't too busy yet. The service, and food were all as great as I remember years prior from the Carrabba's in my hometown. We got the prickly pear margaritas, bread stick tower appetizer, carrabbas trio, shrimp and scallop linguine, and the cannoli cake for two. Recommend if in the area. read more

Carrabba's has monthly wine dinners. They serve a different wine with each course. There are usually 4 courses in a dinner. My wife and I attended the Feast of Seven Fishes wine dinner. It had 5 courses and 7 types of seafood. Each course is described below.    They started with freshly baked bread and olive oil with herbs. The bread crust was slightly hard while the inside was soft and slightly elastic. The olive oil had Italian herbs in it. Everything tasted fine.    The first course had Calamari Richardo paired with Rionda Prosecco. The calamari was breaded and tossed in lemon butter sauce with a blend of pepperoncini red bell pepper, crushed red pepper, and oregano. The calamari was firm but not overcooked. The coating was light and crispy. The sauce was slightly peppery with a distinct lemon flavor, but it was a bit too tart. Despite that, we enjoyed it. The Rionda Prosecco is a sparkling white wine with notes of apple and pear. It was bright with a clean finish. It is named for the Monta Riondo Mountain in the Veneto region of Italy,    The second course had seafood chowder paired with Imagery Sauvignon Blanc. The seafood chowder had Mahi-Mahi in a creamy lobster and red wine base with lightly puréed onions, carrots, celery, garlic, potatoes, and tomatoes. The chowder was stew-like because it lacked any milk or cream. It wasn't creamy, thick, or rich. It had a good depth of flavor though. Imagery Sauvignon Blanc is a California white wine that is citrusy with very light notes of lemon-lime and grapefruit. The grapes are grown at the top of Pine Mountain in Glen Ellen, California.    The third course had Linguini Frutti Di Mare paired with Cecchi Chianti Classico. Linguini Frutti Di Mare had scallops, shrimp, calamari, and mussels steamed in marinara sauce and tossed with linguine pasta. The sauce did not have much tomato flavor and it was peppery(black pepper). The linguini and seafood were well cooked. The sauce could be improved, but it was good overall. Cecchi Chianti Classico is a red wine from Tuscany, Italy. It had notes of tart cherry and cocoa. It was acidic, slightly bitter, and had a dry finish. It is rich in tannins and has a well-rounded flavor.    The fourth course had Salmon Nino with Lobster Ravioli paired with Chloe Pinot Grigio. Salmon Nino with Lobster Ravioli had grilled salmon topped with 2 shrimp, lemon butter, mint, basil, and diced tomatoes. It came with 3 lobster ravioli and boiled broccoli. The salmon looked properly grilled, but the inside was slightly dry. It had a good salmon flavor. The shrimp were excellent in taste and texture. The lemon butter was peppery and overly tart with a modest butter flavor. The lobster ravioli filling was subtly sweet with a hint of lobster and ricotta cheese flavor. Most of the ravioli had hardly any filling. There was no sauce on the ravioli. It was supposed to have a cream sauce. The broccoli was plain, no seasoning or sauce. It was mushy on the outside while chewy on the inside. This entree had so much potential, but it was ruined by so many mistakes. Chloe Pinot Grigio is a bright crisp dry white wine with notes of peach and apple. It has a citrus undertone. The grapes come from Northern Italy in the Valdadige DOC.    The last course had Cannoli Allo Siciliano paired with Seven Daughters Moscato. The Cannoli Allo Siciliano had a crispy pastry shell stuffed with a sweet ricotta cheese and chocolate chip filling, topped with pistachios and powdered sugar served over drizzled chocolate sauce. The cannoli was filled at both ends, but there was no filling in the center. Short on filling? Why? It was creamy and moderately sweet with a light nutty vanilla flavor. The shell was too hard and thick; but the flavor was good, like a sugar cone. The Seven Daughters Moscato was a sweet white wine that was slightly bubbly with notes of peach, lemon curd, orange zest, and almonds. It is made from 100% Muscat grapes sourced from Northern Italy.    The service was slow. It took 4 hours for our dinner. There were only 2 servers in the restaurant and it was roughly 75% full. Our server showed up only when he was serving wine, so we took each opportunity to get things that he should have provided without being asked. Such as bread plates, water refills, spoons, dessert forks, cream and sugar for coffee, take-home boxes, and the check. The wine glasses were NOT changed with each wine. So, we had to ask for clean glasses. I have never seen a wine tasting with this type of illogical cross-contamination until now. This is the first time that we have had poor service at this restaurant, so I am not letting it affect my rating unless it becomes persistent. Based on the food and wine, my rating is between 3 and 4 stars. So, I rounded up because recent experiences here have always been solid 4 stars. The food and wine at these wine dinners have been educational and enlightening, so I recommend them. It usually takes around 2 hours. The cost was $55 per person. read more

I ordered an entree size house salad as well as a side order Caesar salad and I was completely disappointed at this quality of the food not to mention the portion was just ridiculous considering it was a total of $18. There's no way I could bring myself to consume a salad with so many brown markings on the lettuce and a pathetic presentation. Also, the sangria was perfect! Unfortunately, there is no Carrabba's Italian Grill near our home- Solomons, Lusby, or Prince Frederick, which could be inconvenient for those living in those areas as it is a 45-50 drive (one way). It's our hope that Bloomin' Brands will consider opening a Carrabba's in one of these areas in the near future. My husband and I attended the Wine Dinner tonight and it was an amazing experience. As soon as we walked in you could see how beautiful the valentines decorations were and how much work they put into them. They were gorgeous. Then the wine, service and food were all exceptional.
