My home is no youngster being built in 1953 so floor level and plumb are not in its vocabulary. I knew replacing carpet in my 3 bedrooms and vinyl in my laundry room with LVP was beyond my diy skills. I am fit but my 71 year old knees are not up to the task. I stopped in at Pritchett's Flooring in Colonial Heights and got to know the owner Sam. I picked out samples of LVP to take home and to get necessary approval from co-CEO (wife). Sam's daughter Tina was able to schedule Sam for measurements, floor evaluation and quote for that afternoon which was a pleasant surprise. Sam is very courteous and knows his business. The prices were fair. We hashed out the details, signed contract, paid fee and scheduled the work for about a week away. Luis and Jose arrived on time the appointed day. Super nice guys. They quickly sized up their plan and got to work. Aside from knicknacks which I moved they moved all furniture carefully. All removed carpet and old vinyl were placed in their van but what surprised me was how thorough they prepped the area. No carpet staples, carpet threads, not a trace of leftovers. Nada. I felt bad for the workers but they continued nonstop. No breaks for lunch or snacks. The job that I felt would take 1.5 days was done in one day. The completed job far surpassed my expectations in quality. I watched and sometimes gawked at how efficiently Luis and Jose performed the installation. The seam fits of planks and molding are perfect. I have a 4 inch stepdown from living room to laundry room and figured this would require multi pieces. Somehow they were able to manufacture a curved 1 piece LVP bullnose that looks terrific. These guys are GOOD. In hindsight we are very happy we chose Pritchett's Flooring and will definitely keep them in mind for future needs.

We figured out that our county's website has a record of all of the permitted work done in the county in the last 3.5 months, and you can sort by project. It also lists the sq footage of the project and the cost. We could see that Kefficient had done the most permitted projects in our county and they had a fair and competitive price compared to other companies who got their work permitted. We ended up deciding to work with Kefficient. What a world of difference! They quickly got a permit and did the work and had it inspected and it looks great. What a relief after such a poor experience with a different company!

Black lady judge said that by me allowing them to put the clear coat that a verbal contract outweighed a written contract in the state of Virginia. So I paid them the other half in court, in front of the judge. They reported unpaid on my credit for the next 7 years. I had my lawyer send them letters. I called the courts, it done no good. I got to explain it every time i applied for something, i had excellent credit other than them. So they got free advertising. We were very nervous about the trees, and called a couple of tree services out to give us their opinion as to what trees needed to be removed. Both services recommended removing all of the trees as they were too close to the house and all had branches hanging over or endangering the home. We chose Orleans Co Tree Service because they are not landscapers that also do trees, they are a liscensed, insured, dedicated tree service with certified arborists. Their pricing was excellent, and the bid was total, any taxes, fees,etc, were included in the price. Additionally, they took away all the wood, cleaned up any limbs and leaves, and ground all of the stumps. They had 10 trees down, including 125' pine, a 59+ foot rotting maple, and the 4 dangerous to cut dead trees, stumps ground, and detritus cleaned up, in 5 hours. Amazing!
