From Mrs. Grace - Admissions Advisor to the Program Director and all of the instructors, everyone has been so supportive, kind, and caring. They are always quick to respond and willing to help with any questions, paperwork, or concerns. This journey is not easy, and studying for this program can be challenging. Took my daughter for career exploration day there were maybe 8 different trades there to get information from. They provided snacks and water, gave a tour of the campus. We all know that the world is suffering from COVID19, people are getting laid off especially students in school who don't work what is considered an "essential job" during this pandemic. So as you can read in my previous review, the school required a drop payment. NOW, this is the ONLY company in the world that isn't offering differments or grace periods of no payments for awhile during this pandemic! I called to see what I can do since I have no income coming in what so ever until hopefully I'm one of the people that gets money from the stimulus plan that President Trump has issued. Honestly this is BEYOND pathetic and shows how much this school doesn't care about anything but the money. God forbid their CEO gets or loses someone to COVID19 because it's ridiculous!!!! They are nothing but a BUNCH OF MOMEY GRABBERS! DO NOT ATTEND OR ATTEMPT TO DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THIS SCHOOL! SAVE YOURSELVES PEOPLE! This school is a pro-profit school. They will make money off of you anyway they can. I find it said and ridiculous because I was enrolled for 4 years then dropped by them even though it's a 2 year program. Its because I got kids to provide for and need to work. So when they say it's a school that can work with availability they are lying. I find it very sad because I loved the most of the professors because they are actual vet techs but they don't even make enough there that literally all of them worked two jobs and a lot even quit because they found better paying careers. Like how sad is that a school that is pro-profit doesn't even pay their techs enough money. You need to have a passion for animals and saving them because if not you're not going to make it in the program. Which I do, just picked the wring school to receive an associates degree in veterinary technicians. The school a down the street, PLATT college honors the same program and way more flexible. My friend enrolled in that program the same time o did and she now has her degree and even finished before two years. Carrington talks smack about Platt saying the students don't pass or pass the state test to practice but they're passing rate is higher than Carringtons for the past 3 years, and Platts intuition for the program is way less and way more flexible. My friend worked so much more then I did at work and Platt worked around the schedule. Then one last thing, don't make the mistake I did and believe them and say your can take breaks from school if you need too in order to work and provide for your kids. Because that's why they dropped me. They said there is no cap or maximum on taking breaks but clearly there is. They said I took too many so they dropped me and I still need to pay a withdrawal fee of $4000 even though they dropped me. I'll say this again because I can't stress how important this is. It's sad, the only reason I'm leaving a review is so others looking for a veterinary tech program don't make the mistake and enroll in Carrington college. Tried calling multiple times and got nothing. Almost every time someone answered and would hang up immediately without a word. I have tried to call multiple times about a program they have and was even suggested this school but judging by some of the other reviews maybe somewhere else is best. read more

This review is strictly about the staff (lack of, immense amount of changes, no communication to students, etc) After several attempts to speak with Marina T, Anthony W, Sherri R, front desk, etc I am looking to hire a lawyer. They send their "finance department" who is off campus and does not know up to date charges to each specific student. Funnily enough, my student finance director now has left Carrington College, as well! Suspicious much? Warning- when I started here in 2015. Things were perfect. Ms. Sanders, Smith and Funston were AMAZING. PD Ms. Funston always went above and beyond. Updates were given. People KNEW what the heck they were doing! Now? New staff is a crock of crap. Sherri R is clueless and the staff flips quicker than a pancake. It's insane, unreliable and wrong. Look into Penn Foster, Stanbridge University, Mt. Sac or the alternate route if you have hands on experience in the field. read more

What a rip off college! 36,000 dollars for a year and a 1/2 vet program??? When only 50% of the population even PASS their vet exam?? Don't kid yourself and go to this for-profit college; you will only lose your precious money and might not even PASS the vet exam at all, further wasting your money. Horrible horrible school. Graduated in 2013 and it was horrible job placement was horrible and now as an alumni you can't even get them to answer the phone. I suggest if you are in California if you can't get to the Sacramento campus don't go at all. That's the only campus with dedicated workers willing to help. I'm in love with this school!.. This is my first term for RVT program but I already know I made a right choice. I attended another schools before and difference is huge! Stuff in Carrington is amazing! Bianca from Enrollment services and Flor from Financial aid helped me so much with getting into school(I had a lot of difficulties but they were working with me very patiently:) Program Director at my old school was the rudest lady ever and everyone was scared to talk to her. So I was really happy that Program Director at Carrington Mrs. Funston was very nice and friendly. Another teacher Ms Newmyer has such a passion for animals and her labs are very interesting. Mr Chamberlayne is new but everyone loves him already because of the way he explains material. People here are so nice and helpful, they really love what they are doing. Cant be happier with my school choice! read more

Update: I give a school yesterday and spoke to Ms. Kim, one of their staff from financial Aid. She did try to help but my discouragement of the unprofessionalism from the other staff leave me a bad taste in my mouth. I decided to move on to another school. -end of note I don't think Carrington College, Pomona Campus staff takes their job seriously. We started the enrollment process to get my Veterinarian Technician degree last week. This past Tuesday I had a remote Financial Aid meeting. It was supposed to be "one on one" but there are more new student on that call to assist the test of our FAFSA. After I submit the entrance counselling and all the necessary financial doc they needed, Wendy (the financial advisor) specifically told me that she will email me 3 forms that needed to fill up before our meeting tomorrow. Wendy stated that she will email it to me after she hang up the phone. It's been 48 hours and I had called to follow up 4x, leave a vm and I still haven't received any form or call from both Kris and Wendy. My excitements on going back to college, getting my degree, make my life better, turns into stress and disappointments. Right now I don't think the quality of service and assistance the school provide will be worth $30k or investments. I'm super disappointed. read more

I am half way through my 2nd term in the veterinary technician program here. so far I have enjoyed attending this school. my teachers are very willing to help, I am also taking my general education online as I attend school. we have a complementary lounge: two flat screen tvs, a lot of seats, and cafeteria with sandwiches and coffee. 3 different vending machines, one is a snack vending machine, a soda vending machine, and a coffee machine. also have 4 microwaves for bringing your own meals. classrooms are spacious, not like the typical college class room though. much more personal. I am loaded with work, so if you plan on attending, be ready to set all personal life aside to complete school!! which is understandable though because my program is only 2 years old when it would of taken me 4-6 years to complete this at a 4 year university. so it is a very fast passed program. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE. The teachers here are great although I don't think they're treated well I saw multiple staff members quit while I was there. Even the dean left. My biggest issue is with the financial department. I received a letter in the mail after trying to contact this Maritza Diaz on the phone letting me know my account was sent to collections. When I asked her what this balance was for she couldn't explain anything! She just said it's an out of pocket expense. I explained to her that nothing was mentioned when I was physically in the office going over my student loans. She was no help at all. read more

Enrolling at Carrington College was the best decision! I'm in love with the school! The campus is always super clean and nice ( inside/ outside ). I have the best MA instructor! She is super nice and helpful! I'm about to finish my second term as a MA and I wish the course was a bit longer instead of 9 months. My experience at this school was terrible. Due to personal issues I had to leave my term early but returned the next track. Upon returning the dean sat me down and according to fellow "returning/repeat" students sat them down as well and told all of us we had almost no chance of passing. As a school administrator you should be inspiring your students. Not putting them down. My instructor, who I shall not name, seemed very down to earth and very educated. But let me tell you, she will not hesitate to gossip to you about other students. I was gone one day and next thing I know I'm receiving calls from classmates saying she's taking about me in front of the whole class. I've seen her do it when other students aren't around as well. The classroom is drama and feels like high school. Friends and I have been tripped, shoved and harassed. But administrators do nothing. In the end I left due to me moving. But after I exit my instructor went to tell people that I "could not run away from my loans". Excuse me? I pay all of my loans. And why are you talking about me to other students? And these are just SOME of the issues me and classmates have had. If you go here just keep your mouth shut and keep to yourself. read more

It was hard time finding a school that I really enjoy until I found carrington college. The teachers are so helpful and the students are a huge family. I am in the medical assistant program and I admit I was afraid of needles but I'm getting over it since we do a lot of hands on things. I'm so excited to work in a clinic or hospital. Im currently in my first term of their RVT program and im loving it. All the instructors are really nice and accessible if I have any questions. I really like how the program is set up we have class Tuesday through Friday, Thursday being lab the other three days we have lectures. On top of that we have to find a animal clinic to volunteer at and practice what we've learned. Hands on is totally different than just reading about it i feel like I've learned so much already and still have a lot more. read more

The professors and the campus is all that you could ask for in a Vet. Tech institution. However, the influence of Devry's over zealous, and woefully undertrained staff leads less to a college atmosphere and more of a gestapo mentality. God help you if you acquire help or need to use their supposed "help line. This will generally lead to your suspension. Their most unprofessional director of education Colleen makes a point to isolate you from all you peers and making it next to impossible to return to school. She never asks you what happens. She just laughs at what is wrong with you. She then locks you out of the building and when you ask how to return your books no one answers you. Now I have thousands of useless credits and books I can't return because no one will answer about it, but the sure are trying to bill me for it read more

I had some great experiences here and some not so great experiences. This school's programs are way overpriced for what you get out of them. I finished my medical assisting program and completed all of my externship hours. The MA program was very unorganized and the instructor let us do our own thing most of the time which I did not like. I need structure and organization. I am now in debt from this school, with full regret because I could have easily been hired as an MA without experience or education for that matter. I don't recommend this school to anyone! This school is a joke, you pay all this money to get jobs that don't even need these degrees or certificates. I went in for billing and a lot of the people I work with now started off as reception or just at an entry level and moved up. Don't waste your time, the teachers are very careless with how they teach and what you learn in the class is nothing relevant to what you do in the office. The teachers don't step in and really help you, you basically have to go out of your way to get it, and the financial aid lady is a joke, she is so rude and tried getting all crazy with me and started cussing me out one day, very unprofessional. I just finished the dental program at CCC in Pomona. I loved every second of the program. Ms. Riddle, the program director/teacher is very hip, kind, and understanding. The program has 4 dental operatories equipped with x-ray machines, Eaglesoft programming, and a very nice lab. During each course, we are learning hands on techniques so that we will be prepared for the field. Also Ms.Riddle makes it very important to know that this field is always changing and that you will learn how to do one thing, but other assistants have 5 other ways of doing that task. I just started my extern and already the dentist I work under is saying that I'm well- educated and confident in the procedures I do.
