Not sure what happened but being our first time there, not sure we'll be back. They overcharged a smidge for the tree too, my husband measured it to be 6 ft they said 7, I guess wouldn't have bothered us if the check out issue didn't occur. $90 for 7 foot. But the tree is gorgeous and holding up great. I recommend it for the selection and location. They have a small store and hot cocoa. They have some farm animals in the back too.

None of the places we've gone to in previous years (Sears parking lot, Main Street in Milltown, etc.) were set up. I know it was raining, and rain can deter tree shoppers, but Thanksgiving was late this year, so not only is it quite common for people to get their tree sometime during the holiday weekend, but Christmas is only about 3 weeks away -- so where were all the trees?!? We decided to drive around and see if we could find any place that was selling trees. We almost drove right past the sign for Harris Farm, but, boy oh boy, am I glad we didn't! What a great selection of super fresh trees! And despite the fact that it was cold and raining cats and dogs, the young men who greeted and helped us were warm and sunny. The tree prices are reasonable ($49) and actually less than what I thought a "farm tree" would cost. I still can't explain why there were no Christmas trees to be found the weekend after Thanksgiving, but this bizarre day led us to the farm we'll definitely go to for our tree from now on.

This was my first experience getting a real Christmas tree and I was super excited and ready to chop down my own tree and haul it back home. That would have been $65. We drove an hour to get there. But when I got there, I was a bit disappointed with their selection on the actual farm. They were all like 4 feet tall and very rounded out on the bottom. They had cut down all the nice looking trees and put them out for sale for $90. We walked around and decided to just buy the nice looking one that was pre-cut for $90. The tree was 8 feet tall Frazier fir and they were able to trim it down to around 7 for me. The staff wrapped it all up and placed it in my car and helped my friend tie hers to the rack of her car. Staff were all super nice and helpful with the tree. They sell tree stands but I would highly recommend investing in the Genie Christmas tree stand that you can buy online so you don't have to worry about screwing the tree in properly. Otherwise they were selling tree stands for $40/45 I think. Bring cash! I would have given 4 stars if I found nicer looking trees on the actual farm. Overall, I was super happy with the tree it made my apartment smell so nicer

So we googled and came across Wolgast. Here is how it works..... You arrive and park off the gravel road, cross the road on foot over to the giant field of trees. Once you choose one you can either opt to cut it down yourself with a hack saw or wave for an employee who will cut it down with a chainsaw. All trees are $45 from little baby ones to the 15 footers. Dave and Lynn Beck are good family friends so even though there are 3 or 4 other tree farms close by, we always go to Beck's. It is a tradition to go after church on a Sunday afternoon and pick our tree. Um, most people drive home with their tree tied to the roof of their car. My family is NOT like most people. Dad feels it's much easier to uh, drive our John Deere tractor/wagon here and load it up in the wagon so we can forgo the hassle of tying it to our car. It's been a little different since my brother and I left the nest as the tree is usually up when we get home from Penn State or DC, respectively. When I moved to DC and bought a fresh tree 2 years ago, I was astounded by the $50 price tag. A 4-5 foot tree for $50!? Not the case at Beck's. I believe the price is between $40-45 for a 6 or 7 foot tree which is amazing. Beck's also has a huge pile of garland behind the barn that patrons are free to take as much as they want. Mom usually takes a few pieces to assemble mini trees that she puts on our front porch as decorations. Go to Beck's for your Christmas trees. It's worth it.
