It's a wonderland of products for an outdoor enthusiast: clothes and shoes for any activity, camping gear, biking gear, fishing gear, hunting gear and hats galore. They even have other miscellaneous items to keep non-adventurers excited like soaps, toys, dish towels, hot sauce, dog toys, etc. Truly, they have it all! And... it's all priced the same as REI. Plus, staff has always been helpful when I've asked questions. And... they allow dogs in their stores! It's been a great spot to take our pup to socialize. :D

They would check it, send an estimate and with acceptance repair and ship it back. That seemed unnecessarily complicated from a place like Boulder, home of many outdoor gear companies and repair support. We stopped in to the place we had purchased it, our REI store being incredibly helpful and knowledgeable of such repairs, though they don't do any themselves. They gave us two names, Bare Boulder being the most comprehensive and a 20 minute drive away, on a prominent street in Lafayette. I called, got info from the owner, Eli, about general pricing and timing. We took the bag of poles out 3 weeks ago, the estimate in person was at the low end of general approximation on the phone. We dropped it off and was told about 3 weeks as my husband had no need to camp with for at least a month. We picked it up today, ready on time and beautifully done with even higher quality cord than original. The shop is amazing, with antique sewing machine display, thousands of sizes and colors of zippers, piles of buckles and straps. It appears he can fix such parts on almost anything, luggage, jackets, backpacks, scuba BC vests, tents handbags, tote bags, recreation gear galore. We will certainly return as we wear out more and more of our gear.

Was told it would take a few weeks, but they would call me when it's ready. I said no rush, it's winter time and I won't be needing to ride anytime soon. After a few weeks had passed, I never heard back. I called multiple times. Left multiple messages with no returns to my calls. I stopped by multiple times, to find a hand written note on the door says they're closed. Which contradicts their business hours posted online. Fast forward 4 months later to March of 2021. Not a single effort was made to reach out to me. Finally, I walk in on a day they happen to be open. I sh*t you not, I see the bike is sitting exactly where it was left 4 months ago, untouched. The associate said, I'll jump on this right now and have it ready within an hour. I said calmly "cool, I'll grab some lunch and come back." I came back 2 hours later, he was sitting behind the desk doing absolutely nothing, and the bike still wasn't even touched!! I literally had to say I'm going to wait right here and watch you do this, so I can take my bike home. He did it in 15 minutes. The phone was ringing like crazy, with no answer (figures). Not one apology, or explanation was ever given. I wasn't charged for the labor, but Jesus.. How do you expect to survive running a customer facing business without doing the absolute bare minimum of effort to meet expectations?

This while both clerks continued happily engaged and laughing with another Caucasian customer. I've been looking for a clever new business jacket and dress for an upcoming gala and was drawn in by a Shop Sale sign on the sidewalk, but found no indication of any sale inside the store. During my eight minute visit, no one approached or engaged me in any manner as I moved through the store browsing their few offerings, though I never left their watchful gaze. I briefly considered addressing a sales clerk myself before putting my card back into my wallet . I cannot endorse nor recommend anyone to this effete core of impudent snobs. I wish I had checked their reviews prior to my visit to be aware of the condescending attitude reflected in the owner responses. A similar offputting bravada is clearly carried through to the demeanor of the staff. Bottom line, you judged me on site so you lost my sale. In summary, I was generally disappointed at the arrogant lack of effort in their blatantly inequitable customer relations, combined with the tragically overpriced and limited selection of this shop.
