I visited CarsMetrics with my car after the misunderstanding through email and we had a great discussion about my car and why it was difficult to estimate site unseen. Unlike the other shops recommended by our insurance company, this shop does drive-in appraisals. I drove in. Estimator, Josh Roper came out and looked at the long, glancing blow that was along much of the driver's side. He returned with some "magic juice" he then used to buff away the vast majority of the damage, leaving clean paint and a few small ripples and distortions, all the while giving me details about what he was seeing and the cost implications for options from doing nothing further, to paintless dent removal, to re-skinning a door, to door replacement. He was very informative about their processes, and was proud of their painter and his experience. We're considering those options -- what, how, when... to take the nexts steps. I don't have experience with their actual work right now but I sure did appreciate Josh, his time and information. read more

Asked questions, allowed me to text photos of the damage, and gave me an estimate from photos. Followed up with me after a few days (I was on the fence about having the damage repaired. After a minor incident, I was on the search to get my rear bumper repaired again unfortunately. I initially went to Caliber Collision since they had previously completed all of my prior repairs. I had just got my bumper repaired in November after being rear ended & the final bill was around $700. When I came in last week for an estimate they stated $1300 for damage! I knew right away they were overcharging & made my way over to Carsmetics after reading another customers review with Caliber. Carsmetics came up with an estimate around $700 then even after adding everything Caliber listed it was around $1K. Ultimately, the bumper was repaired for $768 & completed within 24 hours, yes 24 HOURS! I thought it was a joke when I dropped it off on Monday but here it is Tuesday & I'm back in my baby! Updated Review! Nothing is better then when the manager of a place saw your review and tried to correct it accordingly. And that's what Jeff ( manager) of Carsmetic did.. He called me as soon as they got back from Labor Day weekend.. He listened to my concerns. And agrees that I have many validate points. And to make sure I'm happy at the end.. They stand by their quote of $893. And handle my car rental. Come to find out.. it only costed me $873 because a couple of things that's on the list ended up not needed. When I dropped my car this morning. Steve apologized for the misunderstanding. And I couldn't been more happy.. and yes, informations that wasn't clear get passed around. And Steve realized that's a few more things he learned now. He only been there for less than 2 months. So I get it. My baby look awesome. They buffed out the back bumper with no charge.. i brought my sisters car into the shop for an estimate. I'm trans, and the person attending me initially gendered me correctly using ma'am. I gave him my information, name, did the estimate and I agreed to order a new bumper. however after I gave my card, then the evaluator started calling me "sir". As I drove away, I felt like this was disrespectful in whole and wish I could just cancel my payment in full. If the evaluator didn't want to gender me as female after clocking me, he should have just used my name, which he had in hand. Obviously I only had the estimate and it was within the expected price range. But this place does not appear to be LGBTQ friendly. read more

Prior to this weekend, I was a huge fan of Carsmetics. I've taken cars there on 3 separate occasions, my family is apparently a magnet for dents and dings. This last trip my son took his car in to touch up a 2 by 5 inch scratch (no dent, just paint)...we just needed a basic touch up so it wouldn't lead to rust...but he was told it'd be "at least $1500 and he should just take it Maaco". WOW...just, wow. For comparison, we had an entire door-skin replaced and painted, for less (AT THIS SAME PLACE!!). I would expect an uptick in prices (pandemic), but not this. They painted the entire trunk on this very car for $300. I'd taken it in for the previous estimates, my son took it in this time. Maybe they were taking advantage of a teenager? These guys are awesome. The first time I came here, the underside of my car had been ripped up by a large hole in the ground. The damage was too extensive for them to be able to repair, but they recommended an awesome collision repair shop for me. This time, I had a crack in my windshield and a small dent on my front right side. They don't do windshield repair, but again, gave me a good recommendation. The dent cost more to repair than I was expecting given its size and the fact that no paint was needed, but I trust that they gave me the best price. They can give you an estimate in 15 minutes without an appointment which is really nice. They were able to do our repair two days later. The repair took a few hours and it looks great. You can't even tell where the dent was. This is a really good body shop and I highly recommend them for any work you might need done! read more

From the GM Jeff hopping up to come out for the estimate so I didn't have to climb out the passenger side (driver door wouldn't open due to damage), to getting me in for the repair within 48 hours of estimate and out the door the next afternoon after dropping it off, the customer experience was stellar! Every car owners worst nightmare- a car accident. I am just grateful mine was not life threatening. Some minor front bumper damage and all that was needed was a call to my insurance to file a claim. However, the issue was where would I take my car for repairs. I have been in my fair share of small accidents to know that body shops charge up the wazoo for refurbished parts and high labor. Some have pride in their work and others just see the potential to rake in the . While my insurance was doing their part, I was researching body shops in Charlotte that have a reputation for doing great work. Fellow Yelpers led me to Carsmetics. I sent an email with pics and a request for a rough estimate. Within an hour I received a response. I took the car in to get looked at. Not much of a change on the estimate sent via email. Now I had to take the car to my insurance adjustor for their estimate. This adjustor works in an office inside a fairly well known body shop. I arrived on time and waited 15 minutes before they came out. 45 minutes later the estimate from adjustor was $20 less then Carsmetics. The kicker- it was for refurbished parts! And most of the cost was for labor!!! Carsmetics estimate was for new parts and half the amount of labor costs then the other place. With Carsmetics, I would only wait a day or so for the work to be completed. The other place was a week. Factor in car rental costs to the final bill and Carsmetics came out on top as best option. Sure my insurance will cover the cost of repairs to my car, but I want to make sure its money spent on quality work and no other unnecessary expenses. Once my insurance gave me the green light, I made arrangements to drop off my car at Carsmetics. Joel was great to work with from email correspondences to face to face interactions, as well as the other guy (sorry for not catching his name). Both were very professional, down to earth, and quite attentive. This place is different. It's about delivering top notch service to their customer and ensuring their car is returned looking brand new. Jeff and the team at Carsmetrics have once again restored the beauty of my cherry red 1995 SC 400 Lexus. It was rear ended in June of last year.
