I came here on a recommendation from the owner of H&H Automotive, another great business, so I knew I was going to be treated well. I wasn't steered wrong. I needed a new door handle installed for my Yukon. I'm thinking it's going to cost $500. I don't know anything about auto body repairs. But I was invoiced for less than half of that. Editing to address the comment from the shop: It's not about mistakenly thinking the vehicle could be repaired; this is about the customer service received and no accountability from the business, plus extra damage done to my car. Frame damage was very obvious, especially to an expert, in the photos. And still, Mason, who was supposed to see this through, hasn't addressed me. In short, this shop may be sufficient for those referred through insurance or with minor cosmetic repairs, but the treatment I got as an out of pocket paying customer truly sucked, for lack of a better word. In short, the owner, Mason, brushed me off, and his techs will only work on cars they deem worthy. Don't blindly believe the hype on the good reviews. I have an older model vehicle that was badly damaged and couldn't be inspected in person. Despite this, the owner agreed to create an estimate from photos he requested and even said he would begin ordering parts. He was confident his shop could take care of the work. Just a few days later, he became unresponsive, ignoring several emails from me. I finally called, and he was still adamant that the work could be done and to just have the car towed in at "any time that is convenient for you" which happened to be on a Friday. When I called to check that the car had arrived, he was "working on the paperwork." On Monday when I went by to finalize things and sign the paperwork, I found out that, at some point, he'd decided the car was irreparable but failed to reach out to share this information with me. There were ample opportunities along the way to let me know this. By the way, Mason was too busy discussing classic cars with a couple of other customers to be bothered to even acknowledge me at any point in time, even though I was told he was the one in charge of my specific case. After being ignored for a good 20 minutes, another tech explained that there was nothing they could do for the vehicle. I asked how soon I needed to remove it from their yard, the answer was an apathetic "soon," as if I was the nuisance, even though the shop agreed to this. As supposed experts in this field, they should have had an inkling these parts would not be easy to find, first-hand, since they don't use salvaged parts (which I didn't learn until after the fact). Ultimately, I ended up having to tow the car back home on my own dime. To add insult, there's now damage to the back bumper which was fine before it went to their overcrowded lot. read more

Car was supposed to be brought back after repair to Mazda of south charlotte but wasn't I had to pick car up at Mc clure collision it wasn't a good area and the smell of Pot in the air was awful at the dealer and the car had overspray on all the windows along with the hydraulics on the hatch door wasn't replaced nor was the wheel that received the impact. Andrew was very rude. I would never take my car there agin. People beware of this place it was very congested and no where to park and the place was dirty! Andrew said the hydraulics wouldn't have been damaged yet the hatch door had been moved with the impact picture of hatch included and I'll add they were a allstate cost wise shop which would figure why they are penny pitchers other photos of how bad damage was on the car at hatch door!! read more

I had gotten some quotes from other shops and McClure was near the top of the price list. This made me start to wonder why other places were less. Then I started reading the reviews. All of the other cheaper places were rated lower and countless people had some issue with the shop, either communication issues (not getting the work order written correctly), or more often, follow-up work to sub-standard work. I am a believer in you get what you pay for, and that was exactly the case here. McClure did a FANTASTIC job on my 8-year-old Nissan. It's an older car (by today's standards) and McClure made it look brand new! I had some self-inflicted dents (bad judgement) when backing up. Quarter panel was indented and tail lights were badly aligned. My car didn't even look the same when I got it back! I have nothing bad to say about McClure. I have no doubts I would have ended up paying more at the cheaper places to fix issues they missed or not included in the estimate. Working with McClure was a pleasure: Charlie was awesome and communicated al work thoroughly. He also "pushed the pencil" to give me the best price possible. Carlos was helpful in buffing out a scratch that was not part of the estimate. Shane was a miracle worker to detail my car to look so great. I would recommend this shop hands down. Did a really nice job fixing a dent in the trunk of my car. Wasn't sure it was possible and was very glad to not have to replace the entire door. I would have preferred a little more communication but they responded quickly when I did reach out about the status of the repairs. This place is superb - I am so thankful we found McClure for repair of a vehicle involved in an accident this past spring. Some other body shops refused to work on it due to the extent of repairs needed but McClure was more than willing to do the work. My insurance company made things more difficult / complicated but McClure was extremely patient and understanding. Special shout out to Andrew and Yanela - they were wonderful to work with throughout the process. Cannot say enough good things about this place. They also stand behind their work, even helping with an exhaust sensor issue that arose just after the repair took place. McClure's has helped me several times over the years with minor/major fender benders, scratches, paint jobs, etc. I would not recommend ANYONE else. Andrew is great! He always goes above and beyond to make sure you can be fit in, quick turn around and has even reached out to enterprise to help get me a rental car when needed at a very reasonable cost. I backed into a mailbox and my poor Volvo got the best of it...after McClure's was done (2 days time) you would have thought I just pulled off the Volvo lot it looked so good if not better than before! I'm so glad I found McClure Collision Center. Mason has a level of professionalism that exceeds his expertise in automotive body work. He is a true class act. I recently moved to Charlotte, and essentially started life from scratch, purchasing everything new, including my vehicle. About a month ago, I opened my door a bit too aggressively and created a small chip on the driver's-side door. I'm pretty handy, and the chip was innocent and small enough that I thought I could fill it myself. After one pass, and not being satisfied with the result, I made a second pass, sanding away and applying a blob of touch-up paint in a 110-degree garage, that resulted in a half-quarter sized atrocity. I inquired of every paint and body shop I could find, trying to identify someone who could undo my self-inflicted automotive wound. Every outfit I consulted told me something to the affect of "we'll have to paint both doors," which I couldn't justify for something that started with a 3mm chip. Amidst the labor of trying to make my myself comfortable in a new city, still being in "new car mode" and having this touch-up debacle become priority number one, I was beginning to think the abscess on my door was just going to be something I'd have to accept. That is, until I emailed Mason. Mason responded very promptly and was the only one who put my mind at-ease, telling me exactly what his procedure would be, and didn't give me the impression he was trying to create unnecessary work for himself out of what could have easily been written off as too small of a job. I knew that, if his straightforwardness and confidence was any indication of the quality of his work, I'd be in good hands. I ended up visiting his shop a few Fridays later, he greeted me warmly with a firm handshake, and got right to work, without farming it out to one of his employees. Within a half an hour, the sin I had committed against my car had been expunged, and my door looked as though it had never been touched. After we dropped off the car, Mason called and told us that when they took the damaged parts off the car they found additional damage that they had not included in the estimate. Mason wanted to be completely up front and did not add any additional surprise cost to the bill without speaking with us. I scraped my suv back quarter panel entering my garage . I was certain it would take $400 to repair as the " scratch " was a foot long. I took it to McClure Collision for repair. The owner came out to look at it and immediately started to work on it in the parking lot. In 10 min he cleaned off the rubbed in paint , buffed The panel and car looked perfect . The first time a tree fell on my car and Mason (the owner) made my somewhat traumatic experience a breeze. He took care of the situation with wonderful customer service and helped make my experience with the repairs easy and speedy. I took my car into McClure to have the bumper replaced, passenger quarter panel repair and painted. When the car was finished, the bumper was one color white, the quarter panel another color white and the passenger door that was to be blended with the quarter panel was completely painted so I have two different color doors on the passager side. In stead of screaming, I asked how much it would cost to fix the mistake, Drew gave me cost of additional $800 on top of the $2000 I had just paid. The owner of McClure just smiled and told me that the color white fades faster than any other colors and let me leave with the understanding I could come back in 6 months and pay to fix their mistake. It has been a year since the repair, please find the attached pictures, color never faded. My experience, they didn't care and took advantage of me since I didn't scream at them. I had an excellent experience at McClure Collision. Prior to deciding to go with McClure, I stopped by one location of a national chain body shop. They informed me that I would need to wait a week to get a quote - not to fix the car, just to get an estimate. I stopped by another location of the same chain and they were able to provide a quote but couldn't start work until mid- February! how is it that i am the first person to review this place, and i've only lived here 6 months so far? anyway, i was referred to mcclure through select import auto. to preface, we had a weird sliding door issue with out toyota sienna. the door would make a grinding/scraping sound and sometimes would not close--but reopen and even stay open unless we pushed on it hard enough to keep it closed. it was pretty annoying, and of course all dangerous. since we have a new addition on the way, it was imperative that we get the door fixed to have access to both sides of our van. plus, who wants a car with only 3 working doors?! ** i did a little research online, prior to calling mcclure, and found that a lot of people have had issues with their sliding door(s) on their toyota siennas (no matter what year). most people were saying that it was costing them or gonna cost them minimum $1500 to over $2000 for parts and labor. although a lot of the doors seem to have this issue, toyota has never issued a recall or will count it as a manufacturer error. all repairs done to the door have to be sucked up by the car owner. good one, toyota. i scheduled a time for mcclure to do an estimate, and they pretty much did it in about 20 minutes or so. they estimated the repairs around $300, which was actually $700+ less than i thought. after this, we brought in the van for the repairs--which were only to last overnight (since we prescheduled the repairs, so they could order any parts necessary). i called the next day to see when we could pick up our vehicle, and they had good and bad news. good news was that the door could be fixed. the bad news was that it could not be a sliding door again, unless we were willing to spend $1100 on the parts (which had to be ordered from toyota) plus any extra for labor costs and whatnot. mcclure recommended we just repair the door so that it was functional and not worry about turning it back into a sliding door, because they could repair it for us and do it for $200. of course, this is the route i chose. he also said toyota keeps the parts in stock to repair sliding door issues, because it's so common for the doors to malfunction --which leads me to believe they're bigger chumps than i thought. anyhoo, if you have any major car repairs that require dis-assembly or collision repairs--go here! they charge a reasonable price, and they do not charge ridiculous prices just to cheat you (like dealership repair shops). read more

I had a bad experience here but it seemed to be a rare case. First, I was promised a 2 week period for my car to be fixed ($6000 of Body work). Every time I called Mason for an update, I was told there was some new issue and was promised that the remaining additional parts would be in "the beginning of next week." After having to call at least three times a week every week, I got my car back about 6 weeks later. When I received my car, the body work looked great. Upon pulling out of the parking lot, two hard plastic cover pieces fell down on the underside of the front of the car and on the passenger inside floorboard. I turned around and asked for a new part since it was still broken. Instead of ordering a new part, he just used some hot glue to try to put it back together. Long story short, it kept falling out and I went back twice for him to fix it properly and he never did. As far as the extensive body work, everything was great! Update: after posting my review, Mason personally contacted me to make this right and offered to do whatever it took to be certain that I was satisfied. Since I had recently moved across the country, he ordered me the part I needed and mailed it to me with a personal apology letter. The repairs are lifetime guaranteed as long as you own the car! That is what this place does. They take care of your car, use quality parts and do an honest job. We brought our car in after getting rear ended. Mason, the owner, dealt with us directly. He told what he would do and about how long he thought it would take. He let us know that he was working for us and not the insurance company. He probably had opportunities to use lesser parts or do lousy work just to move to the next job but he didn't, instead he did a great job on our car.
