Was thrilled to see this place at Sky Harbor, an airport that has consistently disappointed me over the years with its generic chain offerings. I bought their Ethiopian light roast. While I didn't find it as amazing as the light Ethiopians from Stumptown and Heart, it was still delicious. I also really appreciate that they give you a free small coffee when you buy a bag of beans. I'm looking forward to trying more of their roasts in the near future. read more

Told me outright that what I wanted (one shot latte) would be 'disgusting' and that I should just get the double shot. I asked politely if they could just pour half the double shot and she responded with 'I guess'. Also, the chia parfait was not delicious, I could barely eat any. It's one of those off brand coffee places. They brew the coffee fresh and in front of your eyes. I ordered a black tea cause wasn't feeling coffee this morning and it was kinda cool to see them brew it. They also had this amazing selection of pastries. They had muffins, cookies and scones and all looked delicious! I opted for the muffin. Cranberry white chocolate to be exact. Not a big cranberry fAn but it looked so good I had to try it and boy was it good. Very moist but kinda crunchy on the top not too sweet just perfect and hit the spot! Next time I'm through here I will definitely have to stop. I might just take a pit stop here from now on. Enjoy! read more

I love cartel so much, but I never go to the ones outside of the airport because the employees are pretentious and I don't believe that's good customer service. However, for whatever reason, the managers at the airport cartel did a much better job at hiring and this place is a must whenever I visit the airport. The coffee is high quality and these employees are not rude. They are welcoming and kind and I believe they deserve all the best in business. read more

A little overpriced, but decent double dirty chai. I went here with a friend after seeing the great reviews. I enjoyed my drink, but my friend hated her Iced Americana. She took it back and the baristas were awesome and kindly gave here an iced coffee instead. Unfortunately, she hated the coffee too, but we figured it must be their roast that she doesn't like. As for my double dirty chai, I've had better, but this one wasn't bad. I don't think I'll go back though, because of the price... just not really worth frequenting. I'm still giving it three stars for the great service. read more

The espresso is good, don't get me wrong. However, the service is not for everyone especially not for commuters at the airport in the morning. They take a good 30 minutes for a latte and they treat you like dog crap if you ask them for updates on your drink. It's not worth it unless your delayed And you have time to spare. read more

This might be the best coffee shop in an airport that I've ever been to. There is plenty of seating and it's in the southwest terminal. I ended up getting a cold brew. It was very flavorful and tasted great overall. I liked how they also sold whole beans. I look forward to having a lay over in Phoenix so I can come here. read more

I fu(kn hate starbucks and every time i'm dragged to the lowest point in existence and grovel at the coffee god's and give in to there powers and have a starbuck's coffee only because i am in an airport i am quickly reminded of why american consumerism taste like burnt toast from old tires on your grand dad's dentures (whatever that means) anyways the coffee angel's have been conspiring in my corner and every time i visit my earthly father in Arizona a bit of heaven forms in the magic we humans call coffee. Cartel kills it!!! Their espresso is socks and pant dropping, the frothy emotional appeal from the crema is enough to make a 14 year old boy have his first... And the finish dances a nutty smooth magic down the back of the tongue with the perfect amount of bitter and sweet on the sides and front. Onto the coffee, shit$ ill wit it g'unit! Great selection, choices on prep from chemix to clever to aero to hario to magic unicorns of cafe en tu boca!! And they have the option to serve everything in ceramic because lets be honest, if your as fukin gangster coffee drinker like me you don't mess with paper. Save trees beaches! Also If you like double mocha caramel frappa dappa doo da chinos with vanilla chocolate doo doo drippings, fear not!! Theres starbucks all over this airport;-) Ok and here is the best part: the employees!! Imagine smooth butter meets fresh blackberry and mango preserved atop honey agave dripping goodness of love magic... Thats the flavor of customer service! But on the real real they are beyond knowledgable and so open and nice about their mad skills. I know a litl about coffee so it's nice to pretend that i'm a wizard and then ask questions and still get a smile and some love from the original ganstarista's at Cartel. They were even out of bagged beans for sale and made a custom one for me and still gave me a free cup with it! I am a tea drinker. They offer a nice and unusual selection of tea...I had the qimen. It was good but not great. Issue..they brewed in a tea sac and it was not enough tea for the cup size. Result was tea not strong enough amd was messy. For this price it should be pot brewed and then poured or at least provide as an option. Especially with so much science for coffee this was a poor excuse for a real cup of brewed tea. They can do better I know and hope they will. Also the bar stools were cute since they mimicked those found in Chem class but they are terribly uncpmfortable with too small seats. Otherwise very helpful barrista and a fun concept plavce. read more
