For example, coffees = Infusion Coffee Roasters in Tempe, loose leaf teas and chai = Maya Tea Company in Tucson, kombucha = Milly Moon Kombucha in Phoenix, and breakfast burritos = Lua Lua Catering. [Parking]: Mostly metered parking and I ended up parking few blocks away from the shop (plenty of metered parking spots near the intersection of E McKinley St & N 5th St). [Atmosphere]: Inside of this historic house, the wall features the work of local artists. The shop also has a cute outdoor patio area with tables. [Menu]: Apparently Matcha Latte is one of the more popular drinks here. The shop offers 12 black tea options, 9 green tea options, 8 herbal tea options, 4 white tea options, and 3 oolong tea options. *** Matcha Latte (16 oz, iced - $6.25): I was surprised that my drink was sugar free by default and I probably say yes when the staff had asked about adding sweetener. The drink was not as creamy as I thought and it was honestly a fairly mediocre drink. Minimal food options, mostly pasty and muffins. I had the ice latte. The interior has lots of second hand furniture and local art on the walls, adding character. Over the last several months, Songbird has become my favorite coffee and tea shop in the valley! Everything from their delicious drinks, charming interior and courtyard, to their recently installed trinket swap and regularly scheduled community events make it an all around great place to be. My go-to drink is their half spicy half sweet chai tea, though I occasionally order their matcha or their thai tea which are always delicious. My favorite thing about Songbird is their resident cat, Inky Bob. If you're lucky you'll see him roaming the grounds or napping on the couch inside. Who doesn't love a cafe cat? Matcha latte is *chefs kiss*. You can tell the matcha is really high quality, and their sugar free vanilla syrup that they make in house added just the right hint of sweetness. Peanut butter cookie is gluten free and freaking delicious, highly recommend. read more

I was out for a morning walk when I passed by the café. In a city of glass and stone and desert sand, the rustic house and green plants seemed to breathe and beckoned me to step in. I went up the steps to the front door and stepped into the reading room. The morning sun filtered in and filled the room with warm, yellow tones. Going farther back, I found the counter where I ordered a latte with almond milk. I picked up my latte and sat on the couch in the nook to enjoy my drink. My coffee was nutty and smooth. The tender milky notes melded with the delicate bitter notes, a hint of maltiness gracing the top. The coffee warmed my heart and picked up my soul. This was a well-balanced start to my day. I was delighted to find a cat napping at the other end of the couch. His name was Inky Bob (a fitting name for this furry ink spot with a bob for a tail). As I sipped my coffee and Inky Bob rested with not a care in the world, time came to a standstill. But eventually, I had to move on with my day. I enjoyed the moment of rest that I found at Songbird Coffee and Tea House, and I'll have to come back and visit again the next time I'm in town. read more

Cute coffee and tea place within walking distance from our hotel. Went around 7:30 and there were several people already there (mostly sitting outside). Cute indoor area (comes with a cat, which is adorable). Another customer brought her pug in- but both were well behaved. Decent pricing and quantity for drinks. I tried their summer special which was an iced americano with coconut cold foam. I am not a americano fanatic, but it was alright! I love the ambiance of this Cafe. It does not even feel like downtown Phoenix. It feels like a small quaint village in the north east. The decorations are beautiful. The theme is (as one might suspect) songbirds and the entire Cafe is decorated with small songbird items. As a detail oriented person, I was in heaven noticing all the cute decorations. I ordered the matcha latte and it did not disappoint. My friend ordered an iced americano. Both are classic items and they delivered well. There was parking in the lot to the north and I believe there is parking behind the back as well as metered street parking around. It was pretty busy and it's a small spot inside to wait. I went with one of the holiday specials, an iced sugar cookie mocha. The employees were welcoming and friendly and my drink was ready within a few minutes. My sugar cookie mocha was made perfectly. This place has such a cute exterior--like, the kind of spot that makes you stop and go "aww" before even stepping inside. The inside feels more like you've walked into someone's living room than a typical coffee shop. It's definitely makeshift and a little odd, but there's something cozy about it too. I got a lavender matcha which tasted really good--smooth, sweet but not too sweet, and nicely balanced. That said, $8.50 for a small drink felt a little steep. You're definitely paying a bit for the vibes, which in my opinion would not be worth it if you wanted to sit indoors. We ended up sitting outside, which was absolutely lovely. The outdoor space had beautiful Japanese trees and the music playing was perfect for a chill study session. Easily the highlight of the visit. The staff was friendly enough--they took our order and got us our drinks, but don't expect anything over-the-top. Met a friend at Songbird Monday morning for coffee before work per her suggestion, as she is very experienced in the coffee scene around the Phoenix Metro area. I tried the Earl Grey latte, which was Bergamont and vanilla syrup inside an espresso latte. I appreciated that their almond milk is unsweet to not add any additional sweetness or unnecessary sugar. The bergamot flavor was subtle, I did taste it on the back end, but it wasn't forward or as strong as I had hoped. Also opted to take a chai latte to go because it came highly recommended by multiple people! I got the mixed sweet and spicy and I thought it was a little bit on the sweeter side and not spicy enough :) Next time I will try no sweet, all spice! The staff were super friendly and amazingly patient with answering all my questions and offering their opinion/suggestions when I asked. Inky Bob was snuggling up in a hoodie on the chair by the register and let me putter him butbut wasn't exactly feeling it. It wasn't crowded when we arrived around 8:30 AM, but it was a packed house within an hour and for the rest of the duration that we were there. Several indoor and outdoor seating options. Spanish Latte- Not on the menu but I specially requested this drink. Two shots espresso, condensed milk, ice and a little bit of water. This place is great to relax. Right across from The Moon Tower. This is a cute little coffee spot. I met my cousin here who I have not seen in years. The young lady who was working by herself was extremely nice and helpful when I inquired about what to order. My coffee was very good. I could not figure out this parking app that u have to use and there was a young man who helped me without my asking him. Thank you young man. They do have first come first serve parking in the rear of the building which I know now. It's small inside but very home like. There were several young people in there working. Last time we were in Phoenix for work, we ate at the Farish House and noticed this super quaint coffee shop next door. We didn't get the chance to go last time but now we're back and we had a chance to check it out this morning. From the outside, the house itself looks pretty big, but Songbird seems to occupy only a portion of it so indoor seating is pretty limited. They did have some outdoor tables as well, but it was 44 degrees this morning lol. The drink menu is simple and straightforward - we got our usual, an iced oat milk latte and an oat milk matcha latte. Their online menu said they had breakfast sandwiches with or without bacon but unfortunately, they only had breakfast burritos when we stopped in and no non-meat options :( The pastries all looked delicious - there were a few options, including scones, muffins, cookies, and coffee cake. The barista was super friendly as well! The drinks were pretty decent as well, though I'm personally not a fan of the oat milk they use. It tastes a little sweet and overpowered the espresso in my latte. All in all, it's a nice little coffee shop that is very near (less than a 10 min walk) the downtown core. First time at songbird coffee and tea house, and it was such a great experience. I got their vanilla caramel latte iced and my friend got their lavender latte hot. I really liked my latte, it wasn't overly sweet, that over powered the coffee. I could get a hint of coffee with the caramel and vanilla. My friend liked his lavender latte which was one of the seasonal flavors. Songbird coffee is literally in a coffee house as the name states. It's a little off seeing the house among all the high rises downtown but that's the charm of the coffee shop. They have a big out door seating, so after we grabbed our coffee, we sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Cute coffee shop. Burrito was bland and coffee was decent. The real reason I'm giving a low review though is due to the customer service I received. I asked if they had a cold foams and was told they had vanilla. That was perfectly fine and I ordered. As I was waiting for my burrito, another customer was ordering and asked the same question. The cashier/barista replied "we tell people we only have vanilla but we actually have more and we only make it for people we like". As a place that touts "inclusivity" throughout the cafe, I feel like a paying customer (especially one who paid $45 for her whole order) should be offered the same products as everyone else.
