After reading other reviews, I was skeptical to make the drive from Raleigh, but I'm so glad I did…read more I would highly recommend this place. I came on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by how calm it was (that's a weird way to put it, but other bridal shops I've been to have been SO chaotic). It was clean, cute, organized and spacious inside, which is typically not the case for walk-in bridal shops. My family lives far away, so I came by myself (brides, I would HIGHLY suggest doing this- so much more relaxing). I was greeted immediately and got paired with Edith and her daughter. What a dream team! I loved these two. I instantly felt a connection to Edith and trusted her opinion. We went through the dresses and pulled a handful of ones I liked. After trying on the first two, Edith brought me a dress she thought I would really like based on my feedback from the other dresses. The dress she brought me was PERFECT. And not at all what I thought I originally wanted! Without Edith and her daughter, I don't believe I would have found "the one" and I'm so grateful! The process was quick and easy and I got to celebrate with some bubbly and a cute "I said yes to the dress" pic afterwards.

The consultant did not seem open to suggestion, and it was only when she was told "NO" that she changed the silhouette of HER chosen gowns. We were not allowed to look around. My sister did finally choose a gown but was not thrilled with the experience at Carolina Bridal World, nor was I. The gowns are fairly priced, but the experience is definitely lacking. I wouldn't shop there again.

I arrived about 15 minutes early and was told the tailor was just getting to it and that it would be about 45 minutes. I waited in my truck, came back around 3:00, and the jacket still was not finished because the buttons still had to be put back on. What bothered me most was not simply the delay. It was the fact that the work apparently was not started until my scheduled pickup time, despite the shop having the jacket for ten days. To make matters worse, the vent lining had previously been opened while we discussed a possible alteration to the back of the jacket, and when the jacket was handed back to me, that lining had not been sewn closed. I had to catch that myself. The final cost was $85.60. I understand that shops can run behind, but a scheduled pickup time should mean the garment is completed and ready to be inspected and taken home. Starting the work at the pickup time, then returning the jacket with part of the lining unfinished, is not the level of service I expected at this price. Unfortunately, this experience left me with very little confidence in bringing another garment here. After getting home and inspecting the jacket more closely, I also found the stitching used to close the lining was unusually loose and uneven compared with the construction on my other sport coats. I no longer have confidence in the quality of the alteration and will be taking it elsewhere for evaluation/repair.

On Saturday, February 28th, 2026, my wife and daughter visited Carley's Formals in hopes to find a…read moreprom dress (we have purchased from here in the past). They were met with very young employees who they described as "very nice". The employee asked my daughter to sign a card consisting of her name, email, and phone number, but never explained as to why she needed to sign the card. During the "fitting" my wife said there was an older short blond female who they later found out was the owner of the establishment named "Denise". Denise was described as being very rude during their visit. At one point a dress was handed to my daughter with the lace corset straps untied by the employee. My daughter tried on the dress (with the help of a friend), but after getting the dress on realized it had a zipper in the back that had not been unzipped. They attempted to unzip the dress to remove it, but the dress would not unzip. They requested the employee help them, however the employee was also not able to unzip the dress. The employee then asked if she could remove the dress without unzipping it? My daughter explained that she was able to put it on without unzipping it, so she could take it off in the same manner. Denise then confronts my (juvenile daughter and her friend) in a very rude manner accusing them of damaging the dress. Then begins to yell inside of the store at my wife. Denise tells my wife that they have a policy that only the person trying on the dress and employee's are allowed in the fitting rooms, that my daughter & her friend damaged the dress and my wife was responsible for the damage. My wife attempts to explain that the zipper was non-functional when it was handed to my daughter and asked if was their policy to not have anyone else in the back, why was it allowed? Denise continued to yell in the store at my wife and her employee's and stated "And that's why we have the policy, because of people like that". During this interaction the entire store stopped shopping and watched Denise belittle my wife in front of her family and other customers. Denise was very rude, unprofessional, and will never have to worry about anyone in my family ever buying a dress from her again. If you're looking for beautiful dresses and great customer service, please go to Bella Esposa at the Carolina Outlet Center in Smithfield! PS for Carley's Formals: Please don't give your standard "copy and paste" response as you normally do, if you want an honest review you got one!

We were immediately asked by the owner -short blonde hair- do you have an appt? She went to explaining that they could go ahead and see us bc they had availability but if they didn't we would not be able to see the dresses. Considering this was our first stop and first prom we were not aware of needing an appt to prom dress shop. Very awkward feeling. No video, no cameras, no FaceTime allowed! I do have to say the ONLY person that made us feel welcome there is the lady assisting us with the dresses (I don't remember her name but she had curly brown hair) Unfortunately we didn't find anything in the end but honestly the way the vibe / atmosphere in there I don't think I'd give a penny! Before leaving I asked to use the restroom... it seemed to be a BIG issue and I almost said don't worry about it but the two girls decided finally who was going to show me where the restroom was. After being the only customers in there for about an hour I don't understand the big deal of having an appt if you want your business to succeed... making your customers happy should be #1. Don't turn them away if it's "too booked!" People like us drove an hour to your business to feel awkward the entire time! This is a place where you should make your customers feel happy, excited, and beautiful... not feel awkward! 1st tip I would give is making the customer feel special the moment they walked into your facility! If you're looking for a beautiful dress try BELLA ESPOSA in Smithfield. They are helpful, NICE, laid back, and the prices are affordable! The girl that helped us deserves a 5 star however the others would get a zero star if able.

Once I was ready to pay, no one was willing to wait on me. If I'm spending over $500 on a suit, somebody probably needs to check me out. I was about 30 seconds away from dropping my purchase and walking out. In retrospect, I probably should have left. 3. The guy that checked me out seemed like he was in a hurry to get me out of the building. 4. Once I was rung up, and came home, I checked my receipt and was overcharged $30 from the tags on my purchase. 5. When I called the hotline to have that fixed, the girl helping me, Carmen, seemed annoyed at my request. I wasn't asking to save money, just to be charged what the tags said I should've been charged. 6. Rather than refunding the overcharge to my card, Carnen made it seem like I was at fault, and said the only options were to drive an hour+ to the store and get a refund, or get a store credit. 7. When I stated I didn't want a credit or to drive over an hour to the store, I told her I wanted it put on my card and she said we can only send you a check that will take you over a month to receive. Additionally, she said I would be returned the 29.99 that was overcharged to my purchase, and not the additional tax that I was charged. Other than one guy at the store, and a great suit that I purchased, I was overcharged, treated poorly, and was made to feel like I was wrong. I would not recommend the store to anyone. Although I still endorse Men's Wearhouse, I highly recommend everyone to avoid the CARY location. It is an absolute crap fest. Will NEVER shop at this location again. The guy that checked me out even complained about other employees for not putting up signs reflecting a discount on ties. Not at all professional, and after being overcharged for what I purchased and told too go look at the ties, I'm glad I didn't as I likely would have been charged full price as apposed to the sale price he was offering.
