Such a fun experience. Went on a weekday which made the appointment so much more private and enjoyable. Aspen, my consultant, did an exceptional job helping me find the perfect gown. My experience was good, I got my wedding dress from here. My only concern was when I said "yes" it was towards their closing time and they were rushing to get me measured- I noticed after that the measurements were off. I got measured with 3inch heels and somehow my dress was still super short. I couldn't even wear the heels I had planned and bought. I had to wear sandals! I definitely think someone dropped the ball here. My recommendation make sure you go to an earlier appointment where theres more time and make sure you check your dress when you receive it. read more

She made me feel very comfortable and made sure I absolutely loved what I chose. One of the things she told me that resonated with me and the ladies I had with me was "I want you to LOVE your dress, not just like it". Carolina Bridal World, absolutely amazing service! I drove from Raleigh and I want to say it is definitely worth the travel!! Katelyn helped me pick my wedding dress out and I am IN LOVE with it!! I researched so many bridal shops and once I found Carolina Bridal World, I knew I had to go to their shop. As soon as I walked in I was in awe. I went to 2 other bridal shops and had a good experience at both but once I walked into this building, I knew I'd find my wedding dress that day. I really expected more of this place but was highly disappointed. I would not recommend coming here unless you know exactly what you are looking for, IF they have it in your size. There is not a wide variety of dresses and the staff is very pushy about making a purchase. I love shopping and trying on clothes but the store manager told me I would be "confused and overwhelmed if I tried on too many dresses" -- I know what I like and don't like and found this to be very rude. I would not recommend this place. After reading other reviews, I was skeptical to make the drive from Raleigh, but I'm so glad I did. I would highly recommend this place. I came on a Saturday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by how calm it was (that's a weird way to put it, but other bridal shops I've been to have been SO chaotic). It was clean, cute, organized and spacious inside, which is typically not the case for walk-in bridal shops. My family lives far away, so I came by myself (brides, I would HIGHLY suggest doing this- so much more relaxing). I was greeted immediately and got paired with Edith and her daughter. What a dream team! I loved these two. I instantly felt a connection to Edith and trusted her opinion. We went through the dresses and pulled a handful of ones I liked. After trying on the first two, Edith brought me a dress she thought I would really like based on my feedback from the other dresses. The dress she brought me was PERFECT. And not at all what I thought I originally wanted! Without Edith and her daughter, I don't believe I would have found "the one" and I'm so grateful! To start...if you don't believe me just take a look at the other comments below that mention "Connie" or "customer service"....At the beginning of this journey of finding my wedding dress I was beyond excited. After dealing with this "professional" bridal gown boutique I couldn't be further from excited and happy. The people who helped us try on dresses were very nice but when it came to actually picking the dress and the correct size that I would need, they basically told me that I needed to order a size up from what I was trying on even though the sample dress was already too big and I told them I will be losing more weight. I was right and when the Dress came in I was swimming in it and my seamstress has had to take it in 3 times already now. If that was the end of it though I could have dealt with it no biggie, unfortunately it wasn't. We wanted to add more fabric to one of the dresses and asked them if we could order through them with rush order they said of course but they could not do rush order and that they would let us know when the fabric was going to come in but that it should be here by the end of February. This was at the end of December we ordered this fabric and have repeatedly called asking when it is supposed to arrive and if they have heard anything from the manufacturer about a date. At this point it is now Feb 16th and they still can't give us an exact date on when it will be here other than sometime at the beginning of March (my wedding is in April). Because of the uncertainty of when it's going to arrive my Mom decided to call and cancel the order because we were never told we could not cancel and we did not sign a contract. When my Mom tried to cancel, Connie proceeded to talk over my mom basically bulldozing her concerns on the fabric. After hearing about how my Mother was treated I proceeded to email Carolina Bridal and try to cancel our order over email, after sending my email Connie called me while I was at work (I told her I was at work and could not talk) and proceeded to talk over me telling me how she has never been treated like this and how she can't believe that we are doing this and that our money won't "make or break her". This is beyond unprofessional and I genuinely can't believe that people actually act like this in a place of business especially when they are dealing with very important, special, and stressful times in peoples lives like a freaking wedding. If she truly is the owner like she claimed I hope she gives this place to someone or learns how to conduct herself in a more professional way for the sake of future brides. read more

We went today for my sister to hopefully find a wedding dress which she thankfully did. It ended up being the very first one she tried on. We were greeted shortly after getting there and getting signed in. We told the lady helping us what her budget was and she didn't pull anything over it and she had a lot of dress still to try on (long sleeve and they weren't as common). After a discouraging appointment elsewhere I chose to shop at Carolina Bridal for my wedding dress. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. My consultant, Erin was PHENOMENAL!! She took the time to help look through the rack, help get into the dresses and choose the right accessories that complimented the dress and myself. The store was clean and the dresses were organized by size which made a huge difference. The owner was also available and treated us like family, even though we just met. I could not recommend this place enough! I visited on a Saturday morning, and I arrived promptly at 10 am (when the store opens). As soon as I got inside I was greeted with a friendly face. I was immediately assigned to an attendant (Rachel); Rachel was awesome!! She asked what types of dresses I was looking for, and the walked me through pricing, sizes, order lead times, and more. She then said I was welcome to look through the racks of dresses myself and that she would also pull some dresses for me. My mom, sisters, and I picked out several dresses for me to try, and Rachel took me to a dressing room. My mom helped me into the dresses, and Rachel did the buttoning, zipping, hanging back up, etc. After seeing the dresses I was liking, Rachel headed back out to the floor because she had a dress in mind she thought I'd love. I tried the dress on that she chose, and it was perfect!!! My family and I knew immediately that it was the dress. Since my wedding was just 60 days away, I needed to buy a dress off the floor but my dress was a tad too small. Rachel talked to her manager and called their Burlington store to have them hold the dress for me in 1 size larger. We headed out for Burlington and I bought the dress. Carolina Bridal is inviting, clean, organized, and awesome! I love that they let you pull your own dresses AND also have an attendant assigned to each bride. They have couches and comfortable seating for your friends/family to sit and enjoy the show. And I cannot say enough good things about Rachel - friendly, polished, not pushy at all, and so helpful! 10/10 recommend CBW! I had a vision for my wedding dress and I couldn't explain it to anyone. I wanted a western/boho dress. I didn't want it to be traditional lace and I didn't want it to be so boho that it lost its bridal feel. The girls at CBW found a dress that I fell completely in love with, BUT it didn't wow me. It was missing a few details that I knew I wanted. They told me with Casablanca I could CUSTOM DESIGN my dress. We started by letting the designer know what I wanted changed and within a week I had a sketch and it went from there. My dress became exactly what I wanted it to be. After I left I searched high and low for a veil. CBW again knocked me off my feet when they told me I could have a custom veil to match my dress. Throughout all of wedding planning I think finding the perfect dress was the most stressful part for me! I chose to shop at three different stores: New York Bride & Groom, David's Bridal, and Carolina Bridal World. While New York Bride & Groom had a great selection, I would not recommend their customer service. Buying the perfect dress already comes with self-imposed pressure, it does not help to have salespeople manipulating your decision and pushing you towards the more expensive dresses, which is what I received at this store. David's Bridal had good customer service, but the selection was not very good and the experience was lacking. However, Carolina Bridal World was by far the best experience I could have had. They have a large selection, amazing customer service, and overall provide a great experience. The experience includes a large viewing room for your guests, a comfortable changing room where they bring your dresses for you, and a champagne toast when you find your dream dress! I had Ashleigh working with me and she was incredible. Going into wedding dress shopping, I had a vision for the dress I wanted. When I tried on that style I decided it was not what I wanted at all. Ashleigh was extremely patient with my indecisiveness and helped me find the perfect dress for me. I trust Carolina Bridal World so much that I am receiving my alternations from their recommendation, Betsy's Finishing Touch. This has meant that I will have had to take 3 trips to Burlington from Raleigh (buying the dress, meeting Betsy for alterations, and returning to pick up my dress and make sure alterations turned out how I wanted). I do not mind this at all. I genuinely enjoy going to Carolina Bridal World and feel like the experience has made the drive worth it every time so far! read more

I first came to Carolina Bridal World on August 11th, 2018 (a Saturday) to try to "beat" a dress that I liked at Davids Bridal. I got there on a Saturday, right at 10AM when they opened. I was paired with Mikayla. Mikayla helped me into dresses, was able to answer any questions I had, helped me find dresses and gave me a great experience. I found a dress I was dead-set on, but wanted to give it a week or so to think about it and be 100% sure. I came back to the store August 23rd (a Thursday) to try my favorite dress on once more, and look to see if I missed anything the first time. Apparently Mikayla has left the store because of schooling, and I was paired with a new consultant girl. She was nothing to be desired, to say the least. I couldn't even tell you her name. She didn't help me look for any dresses, didn't know any information about the dress I liked (i.e. what colors it came in, accessories, etc.) I wished Mikayla was still there. If I hadn't met with her first, I don't think my experience would have been the same. I definitely wouldn't have purchased a dress if my first time at the store was with my second girl. I would recommend definitely going during a weekday to get a more personalized experience. It was jam packed on Saturday, but I was the only one in the store when I came back Thursday. They should definitely be open on Sundays, I think it would help a lot of brides out. read more

Ok, so in terms of Bridal shops this is more along the lines with a Nordstrom Rack than a Nordstrom. I ventured from the high end stores where the dresses in my budget were limited in numbers, to mid-end bridal stores, to David's bridal. This would be mid-end in MHO and that being said, I FOUND my dress here! The pluses here: The ladies are awesome. I came in during a week twice and tried on maybe 20+ dresses. They had lots of dresses at great prices. And most of the dresses were in great shape. I went in not really knowing what I wanted and through the course of trying on dresses at different stores found the one here! The ladies were suggesting dresses based on my reaction and actually suggested the dress I ended up choosing. After I found my dress, they called the manufacturer to see what they had coming from their end and to ensure a shipment date. Unfortunately, if I wanted a 'newly' made dress, it would arrive after my wedding date:( I ended up buying the floor model from CBW and they gave me a reasonable discount. Really my dress really was in great shape I ordered my BM dresses from here and they matched the price of another local wedding store to save me some serious cash! They worked with me and called the maker of the dresses to ensure the timing would work out so I didn't have paying a rush fee! It really was perfect timing. The dresses, without spending extra cash to rush them, came in 2 weeks early and gave my BM plenty of time to get them altered. Overall, this is not a stuffy judgmental bridal store. It is a perfect store to shop for dresses! Note: They recommended a Virginia Owens in Raleigh for alterations. I would not recommend using her. I have called the store and let them know what happened. This does not reflect on my review of CBW. read more

DIY Bridal Shopping If you are expecting a boutique atmosphere with champagne offered when you walk through the door - then you probably shouldn't come here. However, if you are expecting a DIY experience then this is your place! The reason I gave it 2 stars: 1. I was only bridesmaid dress shopping, I wouldn't recommend this place at all for gown shopping, however, I had 3 girls with me so we were all able to help each other out. 2. I LOVE the fact that they have older Alfred Angelo dresses. Since boutiques are always getting new inventory in sometimes they have to get rid of the older styles so this place had some of the older styles that I wanted to try on. I will say one thing REALLY and I mean REALLY upset me there. I went to sit in a chair and I leaned back and got poked by a PIN!! Thank goodness i t didn't break the skin however it did pick my sweater! TWO, not one, but TWO employees walked by and heard me complaining about it and neither said anything, not even a generic sorry! I was so livid! Yesterday I had an amazing experience at Carolina Bridal World. Rachel was my consultant and she was training Ashley... they both were fantastic! Let me tell you how fun it is to have two amazing woman pamper you for hours. They did not pressure me in any way and allowed me to take my time. When I found the one they knew it and shared in the excitement and moment. They allowed me to take my time with telling people via FaceTime. They were extremely professional from top to bottom. The facility itself is huge and decorated nicely. They have a wall of mirrors with comfortable chairs for family. Great lighting!! They allow you to look through the gowns yourself and pull samples but they also listen to what you want and pull for you too. They have large dressing rooms with chairs for family. Once I said YES they went the extra mile for a custom sign and champagne toast! I could not have asked for a better experience! If you're expecting a boutique experience, this is not your place. I didn't realize that before coming, and was (not so pleasantly) surprised. I picked CBW because they carried Maggie Sottero dresses, and once there was willing to deal with the lack of service. Our "consultant" was not at all helpful. They sent us to the racks and we started pulling dresses. It was like shopping blind. I'd come with a list of dresses I liked, and handed the consultant my list and asked if she could help me find those dresses in the sea of racks. She wandered off with my list, and never came back. Luckily, one of my girls took the sample pictures I'd printed out and started going through the racks looking for dresses. I only ever ended up trying on one dress from my list. I did find THE dress, at an awesome price. The downside is that they don't list prices on the dresses, so as you're trying on you never know if the dress is within your budget. Luckily, the dress I found and loved ended up being $500 under my budget. Towards the end we had a very helpful lady working with me. I wish she'd been my consultant from the beginning and was disappointed that she couldn't get my commission. I'm glad with my purchase, and overall it wasn't a bad experience, but if you're looking for outstanding customer service don't expect to get it here. read more

Drove 90 minutes to Carolina Bridal World because of a friends recommendation. When I walked through the door a lady pointed to the rack and told me to help myself. I pulled out my own gowns and someone brought them over to the changing room for me. After trying on 15 gowns only once during that time did anyone offer to help me get into them. Even then she only buttoned it half way for me. The staff was very lazy and made rude a comment to me about how the dress looked on me. There were 5 people there on staff one siting on the floor, one vacuuming and the rest were laughing and carrying on back in the break room. While I found a dress that I loved, I will be ordering it from a professional establishment that deserves the business. read more

Not everyone is a wedding person, but when your sister is getting married you need to be one. We drove out to Carolina Bridal World in hopes of a great experience and of course, finding THE dress. Neither happened. When we walked in and said it would be a smaller wedding, we were directed to one row of dresses. "Informal dresses" as the woman called them. They looked like wedding dresses to me. We were told that there could up to 5 dresses in a dressing room at a time, and when it came time to try on the dresses, no help was to be found. I had to go up to the front register and asked if they had clips because a dress was too big. The girl working asked who needed help, I took her to my sisters fitting room, once my sister was clipped she quickly disappeared. There was no one assisting my sister in her search for the perfect wedding dress. Even standing on the pedestal, in front of a wall of mirrors, no one offered to help for quite a while. Another staff member appeared and fluffed the dress, and told us that the dress could be altered, repaired, or discounted as a floor sample because of the condition of the dress. Being so disappointed with this experience my sister went back in the dressing room, took off the dress and we left. As we were walking out no one approached us to see if there was a problem, and the store was well staffed and not busy. The lack of customer service is something you would expect at a thrift store, not when you're getting ready to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a dress. I agree with the post before me, this place was a nightmare! I felt like I was in a Forever 21, not a bridal store. The dresses were so dirty and ripped, I probably got MRSA. The employees could care less about helping you out. If you are interested in a cheap, stained wedding dress for $99 this is the place. Brides and Brides maids BEWARE! Cheap. Dismal. Poor. My girlfriend and I came here to shop for a wedding party dress. When we walked in, we were greeted no more than 4 minutes after the stares from the staff and local patrons. Noticing by their attire, I can clearly see that anything with shear and bedazzle me stones would amaze them and have them in awe. The stores inventory of prom dresses and brides maids dresses is not just limited but very dismal. All of the dresses were no in bags and 99% of the dresses were in very rough shape and here is the kicker, ALL of the sticker prices were marked as NEAR new condition. WTF? Some of the dresses we looked at had some visible stains, nicks, snags, and even tears and yet marked at NEAR new pricing. How can you explain that? Oh but they offered a 15% discount on what appeared like a hand-me-down dress from the last Wedding Crashers event. My personal advice to YOU the normal consumer, DO NOT waste your gas, time and money here. If you are looking for a hand-me-down dress and a chance to throw money away then please by all means visit this store. They help you zip and clip and take pictures. I also loved that I didn't need to make an appointment. I went to several other stores before this one and had horrible experiences. My sister came here to look for an IDEA of what she wanted her dress to be, but thanks to the wonderful and helpful staff she found THE dress (at a much lower price than we had anticipated!) The only reason we drove so far out of our way to come to this store was because of how friendly and helpful the staff was on the phone. After we got there we were given free reign of the store for a while so that we could pick out what we thought would be pretty. The person helping us also looked at my sister's inspiration photos and pulled a few dresses for her to try on. After 11 dresses, the girl helping us brought my sister the perfect dress. They were very honest about alterations and helpful when it came to deciding what length the dress should be ordered in for the height of shoe she is wearing, they also helped her get the neckline she wanted on the dress. Vicky was very helpful in suggesting gowns for my daughter and in fact suggested the one she ultimately chose!! They let us take our time and we got as much attention as we needed each time we were there. They were also very good about not suggesting dresses outside of our price range. They did a good job measuring my daughter for the gown, so it needed little alteration. It arrived when they said it would, it was pressed and ready when we needed it. So, my experience with Carolina Bridal World & the girls that actually work there was over all pretty good other than the time frames on ordering my dress were no where near close. The consultant I worked with was Kayla, she was very sweet & helpful when I went to try on dresses. I did find a dress I fell in love with & was told I had to order it in the next 2 days to receive it in time for alterations, that it would take at least 4 weeks to come in. So, I went home & slept on it before making my decision & then called to order it the next morning. I got a email not even a phone call exactly 1 week later that my dress had arrived, much sooner than they quoted me! They have a woman they recommend for alterations Hannah (DO NOT USE HER FOR YOUR ALTERATIONS) but is not employed by CBW. The consultant had recommended her, saying she is good, quick, & affordable for alterations. She comes to CBW on Tuesday evenings for fittings. So, I waited another week after my dress arrived to go since I live over an hour away & the alterations lady Hannah would be there for my first fitting & to make that drive. I met with her yesterday at CBW. She is there on Tuesday evenings for fittings then you pick up your dress at her shop in Goldsboro. I arrived at 5:15 & didn't get into my dress until 6:30 & was cut in front of by another girl since CBW employees do not seem to organize or help much with Hannah & the fittings. Kayla did help zip & button my dress. Once in my dress Hannah did not introduce herself or even say hello. She asked where my shoes are & when I said I didn't have them yet she got very nasty & hateful with me. Kayla brought me some shoes over so biggie about the shoes. Once Hannah had the shoulders & sides pinned in she then proceeded to in a very rough way pull out around my underarms to shove in push-up cups, & my dress is all lace at the top so very delicate but she was rough & forceful! I was asking her about length bc my plan is to wear a short heel for the ceremony & switch to flats for dancing at the reception so I wanted the length to be right for flats so I'm not stepping on the front of my dress while dancing. She then just kept saying in a hateful & aggressive tone "you girls change your mind too much" & repeated that several times. I've never met this lady before this! When Kayla recommended she just do the alterations at the top & I come back with my shoes then do the length Hannah then stated "no, one time only then you pick up" I asked if the length is too long I would pay extra to take it up a little more & Hannah proceeded to repeat herself about "you girls change your mind too much" & " no, one time only it be perfect, no changing length". I was very confused bc from all the research I've done on wedding dress alterations there is suppose to be a second fitting & when I asked about the second fitting she then repeated herself.. & this went on back & forth for another 10 minutes or so with her not listening to my questions & just repeating herself.. Kayla then helped me get out of my dress & quickly apologized about Hannah & how she had just treated me but needless to say I left there a complete mess, stressed, & in tears! I feel as if I just paid $$$ for my wedding gown & I am paying you for alterations then you should at least be kind & courteous, listen to my questions & concerns & address them with care & thoughtfulness. I don't expect to be treated like a princess but certainly don't expect for someone I'm paying for your services to be rude & hateful towards me! If you do buy your dress from CBW I do recommend finding your own seamstress for alterations & not even bothering with Hannah the seamstress they recommend. Hannah is not an employee of CBW but they do recommend her to their Brides & its just bad business. I don't like that this is now a reflection of CBW but I will not be returning there for any more services & possibly, not even to get my dress steamed complimentary. A++ Went here today to maybe find my sister her wedding dress and she found the PERFECT dress! We were greeted as soon as we stepped in, my sister showed the lady some pictures of the style of dresses she likes. She took us over to the rack and we picked out 5 styles that she liked. She was very helpful getting the dress fitted and clipped. The very first dress she tried on was absolutely gorgeous! She tried on two more after that just to see but she knew and we knew that she had found THE one. There were maybe 3 or 4 other girls trying on dresses and they were all being helped trying on dresses as well. The staff were all very pleasant and smiling and offering compliments to the girls. The environment in the store was smiles and excitement everywhere you looked. Not sure what happened with the other reviewers, this place is great! read more
