I was able to use my insurance as well so my actual out of pocket was just over $100. While at Kennesaw Mountain they told me I needed two crowns for the two root canals I had done at the Endo. The Endo recommended a crown and a filling, (one tooth was cracked), Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates told me I actually needed two crowns to the tune of almost $3,000. Come to find out I didn't actually need two crowns. The recommendation from the Endo was correct, all I needed was a crown and a filling this is after both dentists at my new dentist looked at the root canals done by my Endo. So in addition to being rude and lazy, they are also trying to over charge by pushing unnecessary dental procedures. Be very careful if you visit Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates. Make sure you reach out to your insurer prior to your visit and check your coverage or they may try what they tried with me and tell you that you don't have coverage. Also if they recommend a procedure don't hesitate to hit pause, take few days and get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.

Against my better judgement I choose to stay and have a crown replacement complete by Dr. Solomon, only to find out on day of appt, I was passed on to Dr. Iyer's replacement, the new dentist. It went downhill from there - injuring my tongue during the crown removal, a 90 min procedure was 3 hrs, with no explanation or apology. When I reminded the tx coordinator Dr. Iyer offered to replace composite filing at no charge, she tried to contest it. It was supposed to be done at my deat appt, it wasn't. No mention at all. So many other small issues, that all added up. Office manager Holly was rude and abrasive, saying this office is her "family" and they treat patients like family. My family isn't rude and condescending, saying she doesn't have time for my complaint. What a disgrace that this is the management representation for a growing professional dental practice. I am awaiting a call from Dr. Vaugh, but not holding my breath. If she should contact me, and make this right, I will update this review. The tooth had gaps where food was getting caught, and it was cutting my tongue because it was way too big and bulky. My bite was off and I had frequent headaches because of the pain it was causing. I did go in after and tried to tell them something wasn't right, but he said "the crown looks good," and scraped some food away. The office then charged my insurance for this visit. The other crown they did also does not fit correctly and there is still extreme sensitivity. The new dentist I now go to sealed it for now, but this one will need to be redone too. Also, my husband went in for a six month cleaning and they tried telling him that he needed a "deep clean" before they could proceed with his six month check up (which included a cleaning) and they wanted to charge him at least 1,500 dollars for this deep clean. He went elsewhere and had no problem getting his regular checkup. I would NOT recommend this place. I would give it a zero rating if I could.

I have been going to West Cobb Dentistry for 3 plus years since moving out to Georgia from California. I miss Dr. Chase Hall but the new dentist they brought on, Dr. Couk is fantastic. You can tell he has extensive experience and is very knowledgeable. He will go in depth what your symptoms are, root cause of the problem. Then he will lay out remedies and options for you. Unlike some dentists that try to sell you more services and products, he is looking out for your best interest. Believe me, I have had a dentist try to sell me a teeth guard that costs several hundred dollars telling me I can lift more weights! And of course, the staff here is magnificent! Even if you have dental insurance, unfortunately the cost of getting dental treatment is not cheap. I have had to get two crowns so far and Kellie Guffin has been very helpful with the process. I think being informed and knowing what the cost impact is going to be is very important. And I must add that the hygienists are very thorough and gentle. For the world of me I could not get my husband to get his teeth cleaned as he does not like going to the dentist but I "tricked" him to going and got help from the staff No need to say he booked his next teeth cleaning appointment. I really wanted to overlook those issues and continue bringing my family here, but when there are problems almost every time we visit, it becomes too stressful. If you're a new patient, my advice is to verify that the office has confirmed they are in-network with your insurance BEFORE your appointment--even if your insurance company lists them as in-network. The office says they verify insurance the day before your visit and will contact you if they don't accept it. Naturally, you assume everything is fine if you never hear from them and no one mentions anything at check-in. However, in our experience, they sometimes verify your insurance while you're already there, only to tell you at checkout that they don't accept your insurance and that you're responsible for the full balance. In all fairness for this instance, the balance was finally written off after I complained about it. The same applies if you're having anything beyond a routine cleaning. Make sure they've verified whether the procedure is covered by your insurance BEFORE treatment begins. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and was always reassured that things would improve, but issues continued to happen. The office considers it a courtesy if they don't collect payment at checkout and offer various payment options to make your payment. I don't see that as accommodating when the situation could have been avoided with proper insurance verification beforehand. In one instance when my husband was given the "courtesy" to not pay at checkout, the moment he left his appointment, I received a text with photos of his invoice, the balance due, and a payment link. I was also told that because the insurance policy is in my name, I am responsible for his bill and I will be sent to collections if the bill is not paid, which I found frustrating. I understand mistakes happen, and I know times are difficult for many families. That's exactly why clear communication and accurate insurance verification are so important. Unfortunately, I was told I am the only one having these issues with the office, even though they kept occurring. It's disappointing because Dr. Mitchell is a great dentist. Sadly, the ongoing problems with the front office and billing have outweighed the quality of the dental care for my family. I'll be relieved once this final bill is paid and we can move on.
