To address the terrible audio for my Toyota I Force Max Capstone truck I went to Cartronics where I purchased Alpine speakers and a Memphis amp at cartronics located at 490 NE 167th Street, Miami, FL 33162. After installation and $2,000 in the sound was horrible and anyone calling me on my I-phone hands free would hear an echo. I returned to find the business closed and shuttered. I went to another audio business and found they did not replace all my speakers and failed to wire the system correctly, as well as failed to do a correct system installation. I'm now having to spend more money to correct . I would stay away from Cartronics , don't throw you money out the window like I did. read more

I took my 2004 Chrysler Crossfire to Cartronics to have a stereo system installed. I'm not an audio expert so I told the guy (unfortunately I can't remember his name) that I primarily listen to Hip Hop and 70's soul and I wanted something loud,clear,and that I could hear the bass and drums. He responded with: "You want something good?" To which I responded with: "YES!" The guy (I believe his name was Carlton ) proceeded to pick out an Alpine Bluetooth receiver,four Alpine speakers,and a JBL subwoofer. He added it up and as I went to pay he said: "No,pay me after it's installed and you have a big smile on your face." I watched as the technicians installed the system because I was anxious and couldn't sit still. They worked fast and when they were done they put everything back together as it was. That was a concern that I had. I have to say that I couldn't be happier with what I have!!! It sounds so good that I spent hours in the car that night just riding around listening to music. I'm completely satisfied,a big smile was on my face,and I didn't spend and arm and a leg for the system. MAJOR SHOUT OUT TO THE ENTIRE STAFF AT CARTRONICS!!!! The message I got was "We could care less". I wanted to like this place. Went in for a written quote for a double-din stereo and four door speakers installed. For labor it was 89.95 for the stereo, and 79.95 for the front speakers to be installed and 79.95 for the rears. When I showed up a week later to get the work done I was told that the quote was wrong, by the same person who wrote the original quote. That I was quoted for a single-din installation, and that double-din stereos were 149.95 to install. And they acted like it was "only 50 dollars" and somehow my fault. They didn't care at all it seemed to me. And if they don't care about my business, then I won't bother with them. It's hard to imagine a business owner treating potential customers this way, so I can only guess that it was an employee. read more

This place quoted me $70 to LOOK at the issue with my external subwoofer. Customer service was horrible and they acted as if they didn't want to work on my car because I wasn't getting a full audio system. I needed minor repairs on an external subwoofer that lost connection and they wouldn't even look at it without charging me $70 first. read more

4.5 stars When I initially called for an estimate to install a head unit purchased off-site along with a front dash cam and reverse-camera, the estimate I was given was approximately $225. When I arrived on site, that estimate increased to $280. To be fair, I called a few other businesses as well, and their estimates were around $250-300. Since I was there already, I decided to forego the dash-cam to save a little money plus it was a cheap camera. I plan on getting a quality front and rear dash cam later (it's almost a necessity living in Miami). The only other issue have is a persistent & vexing metallic rattling noise coming from the rear cabin, perhaps in the trunk area or rear quarter-panel that only started after the install. I've emptied my rear-seat and trunk to verify it is a problem within a panel. I plan on returning to get the dash cam install done and hopefully they can resolve the rattling issue. Once that's completed I'm sure I will be leaving a 5 star review. The sad reality when it comes to getting service in Miami (at least in my experience) is that sometimes you have to pay a bit more than expected to get quality service. You could take a risk and go someplace cheaper, but you are more likely to get poor quality. This is why these reviews are so helpful. read more

Alan, Allen. Allan or however you spell your name. YOU ROCK!! I drive an old beat-up GMC Pick-Up. A few months away from antique plates. Suddenly the radio starts playing only the treble (highs). I called Cartonics on Biscayne and Allen said: "bring it in." As soon as Allan (friendly outgoing guy) turned it on he said it was the speakers. "No Way" - says I. It has 8 speakers and if you leave it on long enough it starts to work like it used to. Still, Alan insists it's the speakers. I don't believe him, but I got a quote for the speakers (not much) and a replacement Radio/Deck (a little more much) and took an Uber home. An hour Allan calls - says it is just the speakers) I only had 2 replaced as I don't care about the speakers in the back. Sure enough - it sounds great - it turns out I had only been listening to one speaker and had gotten used to it as they all failed one by one. The new speakers are not top of the line but so much better than what I had. Allen could have replaced the whole system and charged my top dollar. What did I know? Yet the final cost was less than his first estimate. Not many honest guys out there. Alan of Cartronics is one of them. (Also gave a nice tip to the installer) - still felt like I won the lottery! The camera backup in my 2014 Grand Cherokee stopped working last week. After a horrible experience at the dealer who refused to fix the system installed by them and still under warranty, I decided to look for greener pastures. MY CAR CAUGHT FIRE! I had these people install my amps and speakers in my Lexus GS 300 about a year ago . The quality of work was poor, and the fuse block in the front melted. After the install the owner was equally interested in how it worked out (totally new product, Kenwood's first foray into the smartphone interface market) so we used his Android and my iPhone to test it out for ease of use and how well it works. Our VAN caught on fire and is dead now! Yes... These people are a scam big time. We took our company van in to this place to have a horn installed and some lights put underneath it. every time we honk the horn the van died. Then the van began to smoke.(We just had this done yesterday Nov 1st 2012. ) When the car started to smoke really badly at a red light we pulled over and noticed that the guy who worked on the van dd not put the radiator cap back on... and he pierced the radiator on the van... DO NOT TRUST THESE LOSERS I never wanted them to do this work but the guy who owns the van insisted he wanted these things done.
