Recently bought a used F-250 truck and needed to have a rearview camera installed. Called around and really liked the way these guys handled themselves. Very knowledgeable and appeared to be reputable. Stopped in woth my truck. They looked it over and made a recommendation, which wasn't the most expensive, which I liked. I went here today to have a basic head unit and rear 6x9's installed in my car. It's an easy install and I would have done it myself but I am only temporarily staying in Atlanta and don't have tools available. Also I had purchase the stereo and speakers elsewhere but that has never been a problem anywhere I have taken my cars to have equipment installed. The place is clean and nice. A few high end cars in front of the place almost as if they are on display. No problems there really. The person that helped me was polite and wanted to take a look at my car and what I had to put in it. So we walked out to have a look. First off the guy says something to the effect that my car is a hard install because of the way the dash is. You have to pop out a pretty big part of the dash to get to the stereo mounts. Yeah it's a slight pain but I've installed on the exact same make and model before. It's easy but maybe a bit awkward. They're just little clips that pop off and then back in place but this guy kept saying how hard it would be. So he goes to get a tech to take a look. The tech didn't even say hello or make eye contact. And the sales person just kept saying over and over how hard of an install it would be. So here's the best part. The sales guy pulls out a calculator and the says "it's going to run $476.00". I just busted out laughing. Seriously. Almost 500 bucks to do a basic install on a Hyundai? A single din install with no blue tooth, external amp, extra wiring, etc. then he says that if you being in equipment from another place it's an automatic $109 charge. Something completely insane because purchasing from the place has nothing really to do with install. I just laughed and left. I got it install at a different place for $120 and it took 45 minutes. Yeah tough install. Avoid this place, is my advice. read more

Cartunes was great!! Last thursday my 2003 Dodge Durango would not start. After my father-in-law, a former mechanic, and I were stumped, we decided to take it up to the dealership, because we thought it had something to do with my anti-theft system/the car's computer. Four days of diagnostic later the dealership calls and says it is my remote start system acting up, and it needs to be removed and they are going to charge me $400! I decide to get a second opionon and since I knew Cartunes was experienced in dealing with remote start systems, I knew they would be trustworthy. I called and spoke to Nick Mullins and he was very professional and courteous, he said they were pretty busy and they might not be able to start working on my car until the next day. I brought my car in and met with Nick, very quickly, Nick called for Joe, the technician who would be working on my car, so I could explain the situation to him directly. After describing the situation to Joe, who has 22 years of automotive experience, he invited my wife and I into the back to take a look at my car right away. Within 5 minutes of looking at my car, Joe had my car started, and within another 5 minutes he had figured out and fixed the problem...it was a 5 cent ignition switch fuse. Nick and Joe also spent time writing a detailed receipt so I could go back to dodge and get a refund for the $110 they charged me for the "diagnostic", which I did get refunded. Car tunes only charged me for a 1/2 hour of their time. Remember, Dodge wanted to remove my remote start system and charge me $400 to do it...and that still would not have fixed the problem. JOHNNY ON THE SPOT, (Estimate only) I decided to stop in at Cartunes to get an estimate for a new sound system. I love that when I entered the store, several men were present and available and I received immediate attention. Steven came out and sat in the vehicle so that he could see my dilemma. He examined my sound system and confirmed my worst nightmare, it cannot be easily replaced and the current systems are deep within the console that removal and customization of a new system would come at a great price. Ouch! This is consistent with another estimate I received so I get it. Cartunes is just a great place for getting a quick estimate on the spot and the entire process took less than ten minutes. It is located on a major road, (Roswell Rd) and it can't be missed because it is a blue building with red accents. No appointment needed so you can easily drop by on your lunch break. I have decided not to have a major system installed because I only plan to keep this vehicle for two more years and because I do not need a booming sound system to listen to NPR. However, If I ever needed to have a system installed or replaced I would tend to choose Cartunes for the following reasons: I like the straightforward estimate consultation process and the way it was handled. The other guy seemed distracted and had to take a phone call during the consult. Cartunes was super easy to find and when you enter thee building, you immediately encounter the sales staff. When I went to the other place it was located in an industrial park with a very small sign that included other businesses. If I had not had my son along to help me look for the location, I would have missed it. When I entered this "other" business, I found my self entering the customer lounge and did not know where to go because there were no signs. Someone did come down the hallway after a short minute. Cartunes is much closer and the other place is in Marietta Cartunes was highly recommended by a professional business that uses them exclusively. read more

Brian at Butler Tire (Buckhead) referred me to Cartunes & I've had a great experience with both businesses. Cartunes installed an entirely new sound system including an Audison Bit One processor in my 2013 Raptor. But they do more than audio. They also installed a 50" roof LED light bar, and ADD bumper with 2 light bars & Rigid LED spotlights. They did a fantastic job & completely transformed the truck. Melvin was great to work with & gave me a wide range of options & prices. I never felt pushed or pressured. Melvin introduced me to Sean, a technician who takes tuning so seriously that I had to spring for the high end processor. My previous review was not so great but that was 2010, and the people are all different now and so is the facility. I went back with my new Porsche 911 Turbo S and I was amazed by the quality of their work. Best radar detector and laser diffuser installation I have ever had. This is THE place to go in Atlanta for custom work if you have a nice car,. What I liked: 1) Quality of work is excellent. The technician who worked on my car, Shawn, is a maestro. A true professional and master of the custom installation. These guys have clearly been studying and learning. They use brackets for the radar sensors, they mount everything very precisely. They know how it's done properly. They do it without drilling holes anywhere. The workmanship is simply first class. 2) The consultation and customer centricity is excellent. The sales person Nick was excellent. They really talk with you and get to know what you want. They do the install the way you want it, and don't try to get you to do something different just because that might be easier. When there are tradeoffs they explain it. 3) They are efficient. They take a long time to do the work right, but they don't take too long. My car was completed slightly early, but they clearly had taken enough time to do it right. 4) The new facility is much better too. You can see the shop floor, they have a waiting area. Lots of stuff on display. 5) They are expensive but no more so than the other shops which are of comparable quality. Their pricing is biased towards conservative - i.e. they estimate more hours than they might need. However they give it back to you if they finish early. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. read more

These guys are great. The sales rep who worked with me was extremely knowledgeable and had excellent suggestions that fit my needs perfectly. I was not looking for an ultra high end system - just something to replace the OEM stereo in my 7 year old car that would allow me to link my iPhone for music and provide high quality hands-free capabilities. They came up with a perfect solution for under $600. The installer was quite good and he went over the details with me in advance. When I picked up the car the salesman came out and walked through all the features with me, and that was very helpful. My one complaint was that I had to stand around waiting for 30 minutes before anyone waited on me. I was actually pretty disappointed with my system. I went in multiple times after the system was installed as I kept hearing a rattling in one of the tweeters and pink noise. Melvin and the technician insisted it wasn't blown. Melvin was extremely rude and condescending. The problem continued and I was extremely dissatisfied with the service and quality of the sound. I bought a cheaper system for my other car at Best Buy seven years ago and it sounded far superior... I've never had a problem since. After the third time going in to get it looked at, Brian assisted me. He was extremely attentive, nice and was willing to do whatever to help fix the problem. He worked WITH the technician to address all my concerns and I can't tell you how much better it sounds. Sorry to say, but I would give Cartunes ONE star if it wasn't for Brian. The guys at Cartunes are great. Jim helped us and he was fantastic. My son pushed a quarter into the DVD player in my car. The dealership would not work on it for me and they told me that I had to replace the entire stereo/navigation/climate control system. For some reason, the remote to my car's alarm system decided to randomly die over the weekend. First thing this morning, I called Cartunes to see if they carried the remotes because all the usual suspects for electronics (Circuit City, Best Buy, etc) either were out of stock on the remote or were WAY overpriced. Truly disappointed in the service I received. I brought in a Kenwood Excelon I purchased from Crutchfield to be installed, since they are authorized carriers for Kenwood. They installed it, however, I guess I was expecting more from a carrier of Kenwood. The first thing I noticed is they did not update the clock/time on the unit. They also did NO settings updates, meaning they just installed it, but did no adjustments to clarity of sound, music, speakers, etc. Not sure if they had a problem because I brought in my own radio instead of buying from them, or they basically are uneducated with sound quality. They mounted the tweeters of my $600 component set with enough silicon caulk that I smelled it for a month, they put the midbasses on cheap MDF rings with no finish so they swelled and fell apart, and they screwed a $2000 McIntosh amplifier into a waferboard seatback with 6 drywall screws and not one of them touched a piece of metal. The crossovers for the $600 speakers they glued into the bottom of the doors where nothing but rain could ever get at them again. Stay away... read more

Had my 1999 suv worked on by a well known mechanic in Buckhead. While working on my car they blew my stereo. They installed a new stereo and antenna incorrectly. There was major feedback coming through the speakers whether the stereo was on or off. I gave them an entire month to fix this problem and each time I picked up my car the problem was still there. Needless to say I finally gave up and took my car to Cartunes. In less than an hour they rewired everything and had the problem fixed. That's correct... in less than an hour they fixed the problem that the other place couldn't fix in an entire month. About a month or so ago, I visited Cartunes of Atlanta to have work on my new car. I've done the same at least 4 times in the past, doing various installs on several other cars. This time, I had them change every light inside and outside of the car with Diode and HDI lights. I also installed the Viper GPS Remote Start, Heated Seat Pads, front and rear DVR Cameras, a new Kenwood DVD/GPS head unit, and a few extra accessory installs, like roof lights, side panels, etc. The Good: Like in the past, I asked for Joe Finn to work on my car as I've always had good experience with his work. This time, I actually got to spend some time with Joe while he was working on my car, and was amazed of the care and the meticulousness he puts into his work. It really reaffirmed my appreciation for what these folks do, especially Joe. The Bad: By the time the work was done and I drove off, I could not use the Viper system at all. None of the remote features operated using the app, remote start, locating vehicle, sending or receiving commands, none. So I took the car back and the system was reset and everything went fine, but only for about 15 minutes! By the time I got home, same problem started again. I was furious! On top of that, I was not very happy with bumper light installations as wires were left exposed. So, once again, I had to return. This time, Joe called the Viper and spoke to their Tech Support to find out that the unit originally installed was defective. So, he changed it out for me, and reinstalled the bumper lights exactly to my specs. The Best: Well, despite all the problems and early disappointments on this occasion, I can honestly say that I couldn't be any happier. You see, I don't always expect everything to be perfect the first time, but the willingness and the desire to make it right is far more important to me than getting it all right the first time perhaps. And that is exactly why I love these guys, they never let up or get irritated until you're 100% satisfied. Perfect example of this was when I got home after my last troubleshooting visit, to find out that now my new Kenwood head unit mic was not working, so I couldn't make calls, use voice commands, etc. When I called Nick to tell him about it, Joe had already left for the day because his son was sick. Nick told me to bring the car back the next day, again! Next thing I know, Joe pulls up my house with his tools and reconnects something that he'd left unconnected while fixing the Viper unit. Nick had called him, he'd turned around halfway to his house, went by the shop, got his tools, got my address, and drove to my house, all on his own, knowing that he had to be home soon! That to me is going "above and beyond the call of duty", and "relentless customer service". You can't and won't find that anywhere else, trust me, I know. Things have been working perfectly and I couldn't be any happier, thanks to Nick and Joe for their attentiveness and great customer service. I would recommend these guys to anyone, and will always go back to them with no hesitation. They are trustworthy, perfectionists, attentive, polite, friendly, and simply fantastic.
