I recently had work done on my 2003 Saturn Ion at Anthem Automotive, a new spot on the edge of Buckhead. I had my back break pads and rotors replaced, replaced my air filter and belt, threw in an oil change, and had unexpected muffler work done. Here's my review on certain aspects of Anthem: The price: Everything was 25% off for the first week of service and the oil change was only $9.99 as part of their first week deals! What would have cost me well over $500 ended up costing me at the high end of the $300s. Without the discount, Anthem's rate are comparable to other shops. The service: Top. Notch. The owner Wes and his service manager David were men of integrity. Being the cynic I am, and having been to many a shop before, I can honestly say that these dudes were completely honest. The didn't try to gouge me or offer me unnecessary services. They told me things to keep an eye out for, but wouldn't need serviced for a good 6 months to a year. This is the kicker though: when pulling my car up the ramp they just barely scraped my exhaust underneath, which was completely rusted out from many a brutal northern winters. The pipe totally snapped in the middle. It was hanging on by a thread. The next time I would have scraped it, it was a goner. They knew it and I knew it, but since it was on their property, they took care of it, no questions asked! I got a few hundred dollar repair done for free! The locale: The lobby is incredibly modern, clean, and comfortable. With coffee and free wifi, I just decided to hang around while my car was getting fixed up. While I didn't use it, they have a complementary shuttle that will drop you off at the Lindbergh MARTA station right down the road. All in all, the price and actual location were great, but it was the incredible service that got me. They hooked me up and bought a life customer! read more

From the first phone call with Forry to getting my receipt from Brett, every step was above and beyond. I love to learn about cars so when my CEL and EPC light came on in my jetta, I wanted to use it as another learning experience. I replaced my spark plugs and ignition coils, but my car still wasn't running right and I knew I needed to take it somewhere. The dealership was my first call, and after hearing it would take 2-3 days to just diagnose, I never called back. So I called Anthem Automotive because of the previous reviews knowing they would be timely and they had the tools to [hopefully] repair my car. They worked with my unusual work schedule and I was in 2 days later to get it diagnosed officially. We were hoping to have the diagnosis done that day and I would bring it back on my next day off work. But, instead, between 11am and 5pm, they diagnosed it, found all the parts needed, and repaired it! And they kept me updated with each step along with getting my permission to repair it knowing it would cost money. Most shops will just go ahead and "fix" everything they see an issue with and you find out at the end when your bill comes out hundreds of dollars higher than expected. But Forry and Brett, patiently, explained each step to me because they knew I was interested in learning and had it done quicker than I ever expected. The pricing is very fair and reasonable too! Update to my review: I got my brakes changed by them about a year ago, and later I called and reported that they started sounding a little bit weird. Wes told me they had switched to a new vendor for a short period and just a couple customers from that time had problems with faulty pads before they found out and switched to a new vendor. I had been within that window so he replaced my breaks for free! I wouldn't expect him to do that for any problem but it just shows that he is intent on doing what is right. Top notch shop. Top notch owner. Top notch work. Old Review: I talked with the owner, Wes and learned that in his past life he was a Mechanical Engineer traveling all over the nation(world?) because people needed his expertise in Industrial Engineering on their production lines (he's a brilliant, efficient engineer). And on the weekends he was fixing his friend's cars because he loved it! Then he worked for a while along side other mechanics to get a handle on the biz, and had gotten additional mechanic degrees and certifications beyond all of them so that he was pretty much more qualified than any of his coworkers. Then he started the shop! His shop is a block or so away from a Marta station. It's beautiful and well thought out. And has top notch tools. A system to get parts from all over the city within 20 minutes. I trust this man with my cars. And he's just a great guy. read more

Took my 2000 Jaguar for front end work which I knew it needed. First impression was how clean and aesthetically pleasing it is. So well put together that I thought it might be a national operation. Turns out to be locally owned & operated. Never been treated so well & honestly. They worked long hours on my car until they got everything perfect and that's not easy with Jags. So much so that I doubt they made much if anything on my job. They stuck to their original quote even when costs turned out to be higher. Who does that?! They do! Their priority was getting it done right. A rare thing today. Final bill was much lower than dealership quoted. As if that wasn't enough when my car took longer than expected they covered the cost of a rental. Never has any auto repair place done that for me or even offered it. I've dealt with a lot of auto repair centers & dealerships over my many years and this is by far the best service & work I have ever received. Mercedes & Jaguar dealerships could learn from Anthem and I've dealt with both. If you don't go to Anthem first, you're nuts! read more

I brought in a 2000 Honda Odyssey Minivan that I had just driven across the country. It was in need of a few routine repairs and a solid once-over before my return back across the country. Wes and his team are solid mechanics. I was told (in lay-person's terms) what needed to happen and why and given an upfront overview of the cost. Very reasonable and very fair pricing. I LOVE that Anthem has specific diagnostic tools for each make of car. I found out the had way that these can be critical to accurately diagnosing certain issues with your car and can save you money down the road. I brought the minivan into another shop when the check engine light came on. They put a generic scanner on it and then began hunting for an issue ultimately giving me my van back, charging me, and telling me to take it to the dealer. Having these diagnostic tools puts Anthem on the same level as the dealer for MUCH less. I wish Anthem were in Portland. I would only use them. Sadly, that's a little bit far of a commute for my routine maintenance. read more

I recently read the reviews and decided to give this place a shot.... here's the story: My car refused to start at roughly 5:45am, so I thought engine trouble, starter trouble, or battery trouble.... I finally called Anthem at 2:55pm.... and the tow truck was only able to get me to their store by 5:55pm [5 minutes before they close at 6:00pm, since the tow truck was responding to a major accident before finally getting to me, roughly 2 hours after I had scheduled my vehicle pick up]. So by the time I nervously rode with the tow truck driver to the Anthem Auto Store on Piedmont road, the techs were already gone for the day. And it was just the execs and the staff that answer the phone who were there... I'd come too late! No more technicians! I was about to loose my freakin' mind! But then one of those guys who answer the phone went out there and checked my stalled car and he diagnosed it himself and he replaced the battery right there in the parking lot! And the dead car was brought back to life! 5 Stars! 5 Stars 5 Stars!!! read more

I was on my way back home traveling from the Florida Keys all the way to Minnesota when I encountered some car trouble along the way. Anthem Automotive was highly recommended online and I was impressed with them immediately. Forry worked with us from the first phone call to when we arrived at the store. Bret assisted us while Forry was finishing with other customers and was very accommodating and helpful. Forry took our needs into account knowing we had a lot of traveling left to do, and made sure that the car could be fixed and ready as soon as possible. He assured us that the parts would be ordered, delivered, and replaced swiftly. In less than two hours we were back on our way and the car was running better than over even giving us an extra 4 miles per gallon as a result. Thanks to Forry and Bret and the mechanics at Anthem for taking great care of us and making sure that my vehicle could safely take us home! My experience at Anthem Automotive was great! I took my car here because my AC was blowing warm air. The first thing I observed, they were very pleasant on the phone and spoke with confidence about my car. They assured me that my service warranty was three years and I liked that as well. When I met the staff in person they were polite, professional, and well spoken. My service advisor name was Brett. Anthem provided shuttle for me in order to drop off my car. Within three hours of drop off Brett called, said I needed the AC compressor and drive belt replaced. I also snuck in an oil/filter change. The turn around time for these repairs was 1.5 days which is very good because most places don't have AC compressors within their immediate inventory, usually have to order it and takes a few days. My AC is fixed now and working well so far. I really liked working with Brett...I received a follow up call from him and it was much appreciated as well. Anthem Automotive is AWESOME. I will never take my car anywhere else every again. The owner, Wes, is fantastic to work with, and he and his team are extremely knowledgeable about cars. Being a woman, I am always skeptical about whether or not the work mechanics tell me I need on my car is truly accurate, or if they are just out looking to make some extra money. NOT the case at Anthem - they not only accurately diagnosed the issue with my 2004 F-150 truck, but they also recommended what I should NOT spend money on fixing right now because it wasn't really necessary to keep my car running in tip top shape. I've had many auto repairs, services, etc. done at Anthem. The team is friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, honest, quick yet thorough when it comes to turnarounds, and prices are reasonable. I know so little about cars that I'm basically a walking cliche and I always brace myself for a massive bill and am always pleasantly surprised. They could tell me that a $150 service was $80,000,000 and I'd believe them. (They'd never do that though). They also keep impeccable records. For example, a recent repair was still under warranty and I had no idea but they did! I thought it was going to be $900,000 but it was covered! Also, the shop itself is immaculate and relaxing. There's free coffee (Starbucks!) and soda (Coke! Diet Coke! Sprite! Coke Zero!) for customers and plenty of seating and tables if you need to get work done while you're waiting for a ride or waiting for your car. read more

I worked with Wes... he's the best mechanic I've ever worked with! I'm a medical student at Emory and my Jeep didn't turn on the morning on the way to Grady. I scanned it before I took it in and I was pretty sure it was the Alternator. When I took it in he told me it was definitely the alternator, but also my Fuel pump injector was failing too. Instead of charging me a cent... he let me know that both were on active recall and suggested I get it taken care off at a Jeep dealership for free. This is proof that these guys are good people and take care of their customers. He could've fixed everything and charged me without saying a word. Rather, he did the honest thing and gave me the best news possible. I will make sure I recommend these guys to ANYONE looking for a mechanic and in particular Wes was spectacular. I had a great experience here. I was doing some routine maintenance such as oil change, coolant flush, spark plugs and air filters but additionally wanted a full mechanical inspection. During the inspection my rear shocks needed to be replaced also. I got all the work done and when I picked up the car I got a few blocks away and the check engine light came on. I immediately came back and they took the car back for further service. Long story short... they set me up with a rental and even paid for an Uber to the rental place. In the wonderful world of mechanics things can and will happen but the customer service made all the difference. I felt like I was being treated like family. Big shout out to Forry for truly taking care of me and my vehicle. I will definitely be back and my wife will be a new customer now as well. read more

I went to AA based on the wonderful reviews here. I was a bit skeptical, because a 5 star rating for an auto repair shop seems a little far fetched. BUT, this shop has won my business for life. I went in thinking I needed to get my brake pads replaced (based on what another auto repair shop told me), so I scheduled an appointment and dropped my car off. I was told I would get a phone call if I even needed a brake job. This was very refreshing to hear, because most auto repair shops will just take your money and not think twice. Later that afternoon I was told that I did not even need my brakes done! This type of honesty really won me over. I expected to pay hundreds of dollars and ended up paying $19 for an air filter. I deeply appreciate the honesty here and I will return the awesome service with my loyalty! read more

Anthem was recommended to me about two years ago when my engine was having issues and I was in the midst of a painful customer service experience with an AAA in Marietta. They gave me a second opinion and talked with me over the phone to help me determine how I should proceed with the engine issues. Since then, I've taken my car exclusively to anthem and have gotten great service. When my air conditioning went out last year, they walked me through my options and actively problem solved to find the cheapest option for me. Its been a relief to have a go-to shop thats trustworthy, competant and transparent. I used Anthem for the first time last week and had a very positive experience and outcome. My problem was that the battery in my 18-year-old Acura TSX kept going dead. I'd been trickle charging and experiencing battery uncertainty for a couple of years. When the battery went dead after sitting for just 3 days, I suspected a short in the electrical system or a parasitic draw, but a diagnostic check of my car's electrical system at an Acura dealership had come up empty. I really thought an unsolved electrical problem might be the end of my TSX. Forry took my call at Anthem, and suggested that I bring the car right over. By that same afternoon, Anthem's mechanics had determined the source of the parasitic draw and corrected the problem. I am ecstatic at the results! read more

I experienced an unknown electrical problem with my car going from North Carolina to Texas before New Year's Day. My 2007 Pontiac G6 was electrically dead. Bew battery, but nothing when turning the key. I searched through the owners manual and couldn't find anything to correlate to the problem. I phoned a tow truck and had my vehicle taken to Anthem Automotive. Within hours, they discovered that a critical ground wire had broken and it prevented the car's computer from communicating with the various modules. What looked like a huge repair issue was resolved and I was back on the road the following morning. It cost very little to repair. I couldn't have been more pleased with the team. It's very difficult to find an honest and talented mechanic. Wes and his team are the real deal! They installed a performance exhaust system on my mini cooper s. The kit sounds amazing and even set off a few car alarms in my parking deck at work (mission accomplished)! Service was phenomenal! They dropped me off at work and picked me up when the car was ready. They were very transparent about what they had done and why they made certain adjustments to the exhaust system. Biggest of all, they were honest about the job taking less time than they quoted and reduced the cost of labor appropriately! Good mechanics are very hard to find. I have been struggling for years to find reliable, good mechanics. I chanced across anthem in a pinch. It was the best experience I have had with mechanic in my 50 years of life. They were honest, they have heart, and did the work supper fast. They have called and texted numerous time to check on their work. They did a complimented recheck on the car after repairs were done because my timing belt broke and the damage it could have done to my car was major. I was blessed that the car is still running even after the repairs. The customer service is over the top and I will no longer take any vehicle to any other mechanic.
