I asked the bartender if she could lower the volume, and to her credit, she did. I appreciated that, especially since this was a first time meeting and conversation was already awkward enough. We ordered drinks and were served right away. A few minutes later, the bartender dropped off the bill. I assumed it was just opening a tab, but she told us her shift was ending and that we needed to pay immediately. I've honestly never experienced that before. It put me in an uncomfortable position and felt rushed, especially since the bartender ended up staying around anyway. After a while, we decided to sit outside to continue talking. That's when things took a turn for the worse. A young man walked by and said something to my friend but wouldn't repeat it to me. He seemed upset. Later, he walked by again and said something else, so I asked what he said. He responded, "I'm sorry for saying his hair is long." My friend has long dreadlocks. I was confused, there was nothing to apologize for unless it was meant as an insult. I tried to diffuse the situation by joking that his hair was as long as mine and that the guy himself also had long hair. He continued apologizing in a way that felt very uncomfortable and strange. Then, unexpectedly, the same man walked by again, dropped a $20 bill, and said, "Drinks on me." Shortly after that, someone from inside opened the door and said, "You guys are still here? I thought you left three hours ago." That comment felt incredibly rude and unnecessary. Overall, the entire experience left me feeling unwelcome and targeted. Between the comments, the tone, and the behavior from multiple staff members, it came across as discriminatory and hostile. Whether they were owners or managers, the two women we interacted with were consistently rude as well. This is not a place I would return to or recommend.

We find a corner booth and tuck ourselves in to watch the crown grow and perform. It was like watching the late 90s and early 2000s circle back around. Dress code was lax. I. Saw Jessica Simpson style heels and crocs in equal amounts. Our friendly booth neighbor hypes us out by performing a great Lil Wayne song and knowing every single word and thankfully not saying the cringe N words. The pizza was delicious. Kept it simple but it was done to perfection. The empanadas were meh. We walked out before 11p but the crowd continued to grow. Nice hang out with great service and pizza. My boyfriend said he thought he saw lights, so we parked and checked it out. It was open, and the new owner informed us they hadn't updated the phone number yet. We showed him the offer for a free hookah with check-in and he said he would honor it. The waitress didn't speak much English and had a difficult time understanding our drink and hookah order. The place does not have their liquor license so they offer wine based alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere was mildly Egyptian themed, but the TVs reflected that of a co fused sports bars: basketball, and college softball games were on screens, along with one screen showing old shows from the 60s. The "dj" was busy smoking hookah most of the time, and before long the owner started drinking at the bar. A second bartender arrived dressed as if she worked at a strip club, complete with unitard that went up between her butt cheeks with tattoos and cellulite displayed in abundance. We opted not to stay for a second drink as the atmosphere was really lacking. It took about ten minutes to get the waitresses attention to tell her we wanted our check, another ten for her to bring us the check, and when we looked at the bill we saw that the free hookah offer was not honored, she rang up the vodka cranberry as vodka red bull (different charge) and his whiskey sour as a whiskey and coke (also a different charge). At that point we just wanted to leave and decided not to contest the bill. It took another 7 minutes to get the waitress's attention to take our card. Once she did she passed it off to the owner who took the card, proceeded to sit and drink his alcoholic beverage at the bar before getting into a discussion with the woman wearing basically no clothing. He finally handed the card off to her and she eventually ran the card. Had there not been an 18% gratuity automatically charged we wouldn't have left any tip at all. With this type of service and amount of attention given to business and the customers by the owner it will be a shock if they stay open.
