This "speakeasy" style lounge really has that glitzy swanky vibe. We went over to Hidden by the bookshelf door from the restaurant next door after dinner, and it really felt like we walked in to another world. The lighting is dim and the sofas are beautiful. There is a red piano on the other side that just looks so regal. We sat at the bar and were quickly taken care of. They have a great variety of cocktails to choose from and some bites as well if you're feeling hungry. I went with the red eye espresso martini and it was amazing. It tasted like chocolate! The combo of Licor 43 and espresso is delish! Highly recommend. It was a Sunday night so there wasn't too many people, but the bartender did tell us they play live music on Fridays and Saturdays and that is when there is a bigger crowd. Where to even begin?! This is such a cute hidden gem. My boyfriend got reservations for us to go to this speak easy and then the attached restaurant for Valentine's Day. I absolutely loved it! This is a really cool concept it is a great speak easy layout. But the drinks are way overpriced for what they are. My old-fashioned did didn't even have bitters in it. It was whiskey on rocks that came in a smoked box wow so fancy. Was a complete disappointment. The tequila old-fashioned was better. The espresso martini was on point. The food was decent, but it's not worth the price of what it is either. The service was not that great either they walked around like they were something special and barely gave you attention when you needed it. You had to shout their name out for them even acknowledge you. It's ridiculous. Overall, the concept in places really cool. It's laid out really well. It's a great design and concept, but the drinks are lacking the price point. Visited the Hidden Speakeasy to celebrate my birthday this year and what a great choice it was!! The speakeasy is inside the Eatapas restaurant behind a secret door. The bar is very small, so reservations are definitely recommended for a larger party. We had a nice area reserved for our party of 10. Leather couches and velvet chairs. The ambiance is dark, romantic and elegant. The drinks are nothing short of spectacular!! The presentation alone is worth the order but they are great as well. They have a small selection of appetizers that are also beautifully presented. Our bartender/server Jorge made our visit even better. He was so attentive, and always suggesting our group the perfect cocktail. All in all it was the perfect place for an intimate, elegant celebration. This is a cool little spot. The ambiance and atmosphere of the place are very quaint. The service was good and regularly checked on us. We had the cheese platter which came with a nice amount of assorted cheeses. My only complaint is if I'm paying $20 for a drink, it should have more than a few sips in the glass. We wanted to find a unique way to celebrate a friend's 65th birthday. After some careful researching we discovered this speakeasy. We reached out and spoke to Nathalia. Nathalia was amazing! She helped secure a reservation for our party of 10. She answered all of questions and was extremely professional and pleasant. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately and we spoke to the greeter quietly since this was a surprise for the birthday girl. She checked our reservation and walked us to the secret entrance. Our reserved section was perfect with 2 comfortable good size couches, 2 nice chairs and a beautiful comfortable covered bench. The staff was awesome and made sure our party was taken care of and always checked if anyone needed refills or more appetizers. The atmosphere is beautiful and you truly feel like you are in a speakeasy. We recommend having reservations because the speakeasy is a smaller area and it really picks up after 8:00pm on Saturdays. The lighting is on the dimmer side, however it does not interfere with taking pictures. All the drinks and food were phenomenal! Hidden is a real gem of a bar with plenty of comfortable seating, gorgeous elegant chandeliers, and a staff of top-notch professional bartenders. When in Hidden, you get away from the usually loud live entertainment in Eatapas and have good comfortable conversations. Hidden has a good selection of signature cocktail offerings. Most of them date back to the 20's and all are custom crafted. However, I chose to have a B-52, an old cocktail of the 70's. The bartender knew of it but not the recipe for it. But he looked it up and I was soon drinking one of the best B-52s I've ever had. I really like Hidden and can recommend it. read more

This is probably the most difficult review I've had to write in 2023, simultaneously deserving of both a 5 star and a 1 star review. Let's do the 5 Star first... Located at the back of EATapas, the speakeasy called Hidden is pretty easy to find. Of all the speakeasies we have been to in the last year, this venue is near the top of the list for ambiance and atmosphere. Dim bordering on dark, with comfortable chairs scattered throughout and a pretty extensive bar up front. It can get loud when full, but the music is set at the perfect volume to be heard without being overpowering. Drinks are well crafted, fun, and presented beautifully, with everything from smoke boxes, to colorful ice globes, to glasses of every shape and description. Okay, so after all that, how can there be any question of reviews at less than 5 stars? Well, I'll tell you. After the incredible food and great service at Eatapas, we really had such high hopes for Hidden. The only problem with that is, the higher up you raise your expectations, the farther they have to fall... Hidden is "hidden" behind a shelf at the book of the restaurant but the steady of flow of people in and out is kind of a giveaway as to where it's located. Due to size restraints, reservations are required and that's where the problem started. We entered just after a party of 5 who were told as they had no reservation and the night was fully booked, they would not be able to come in tonight. They didn't leave though, just milled around in the entryway talking. Having already made our reservations for 7pm and confirmed same through texting, plus knowing we had pre-checked in when we arrived at dinner, then made our way here to the Speakeasy afterwards where we were surprised as we got promptly turned away for not having a reservation. The conversation went kinda like this: - Hi, I have a reservation. - You're not on my list. - I have a confirmation here. - You're not on my list. - Here is the reservation, and confirmation. - I see that but you're not on my list. (Put that on loop for a few minutes until we asked to see a manager.) ** Strike 1 for not honoring a confirmed reservation because they filled up with walk-ins. ** Strike 2 was for dishonesty, when the first manager we talked to lied directly to our face and said the manager we needed to speak to was off premises. Then the hostess pointed her out 10' away. (For the record, she was very professional and super courteous and she immediately went out of her way to help us. ) So, remember the no reservation party of 5 from earlier? Yeah, we came in to find them seated next to us and already enjoying a cocktail. ** Strike 3 for inconsistency. Eventually we were admitted and got our drinks. They were fantastic. read more

If I could give this place less stars I would. The name of the place is fitting because it should stay hidden and locked away. As someone who's in the hospitality industry, I've never seen more pretentious bartenders in my life who can't even look up to say I'll be with you in a second, when it's not busy AT ALL. But that's not why it was a terrible experience.... I ordered the Tequila-Mezcal old fashioned, and there was clearly little to no agave nectar or bitters. You can really only taste tequila- mezcal on the rocks. I asked the bartender if I could get a little bit of agave nectar on the side of my drink, and this man fills half of my glass with agave nectar with an attitude and walks away. After a few moments, we asked the bartender to taste the drink with a straw and see what he thinks. He started laughing when we asked him what can he taste. He definitely could taste the agave but couldn't taste any bitter...his exact words. It's not about a poorly executed drink, it's about a lack of service and hospitality. Come here if you have a low expectation or even lower bar when it comes to hospitality. The best part of the experience was the valet. read more

The Valet said we could use the 'black door' (to the right of eat tapas entrance) but we wanted the full experience walking through and finding the 'pantry' door. Eat Tapas is a very busy restaurant (we have been wanted to try) but then you push through the pantry door and 'HIdden' it's dark and quiet. Walls painted super dark, two chandeliers and just a very cool experience. 2 Drinks, one carpaccio appetizer...45 minutes later....70$ or so. Each drink was around 20. I had the old fashioned, with a really nice presentation. My wife had the mystery which has a giant colored ice ball. Overall not a lot of actual drink (probably standard 1.5 or 2 ounces). They were great...just know what you are getting it. They do you want you to exit through the black door, however. read more

This hidden speakeasy in the Eatapas restaurant is one of my favorite speakeasies in Fort Lauderdale. It feels like an upscale lounge with comfortable seating and intimate vibes. The room is dimly lit and spacious. My favorite place to sit is by the fireplace because it is in its own corner which adds an extra level of privacy from the main floor. Drinks are expensive but are handcrafted, taste amazing, and are presented beautifully. They even serve snacks and finger foods. The bartender is attentive and very fun to talk to. He was able to give us good recommendations on what to try and adjust the drinks to our liking. I would recommend coming here on a weeknight because it gets way too packed during the weekend and the whole vibe completely changes. read more

We can say that with quite a but of confidence, as we have been to most of them, and this was our second of the night. We had gone to the first speakeasy of the night, thinking we would stay there for the night if it had good vibes. it didn't really, so off to Hidden. We pulled up and it seems this spot is vale only. Which was fine, it wasn't pricey. We guided by the host through their sister restaurant, a tapas place, to get to the entrance. We noted how busy the restaurant was and how good its aromas were, and planned to come back for tapas. As we walked through the pantry door we entered a lively speakeasy. There was a couple spots and the long wooden earthy bar and we grabbed that. Lights were a little dim so we used the small battery light by us to order off the menu. I went for one that was umbrella-worthy, the Hidden Pina Colada. It was plenty tasty of course. Another fun speakeasy. The decor in this one is more sophisticated, dark dim lighting, leather chairs/couches and velour bar chairs. All that though doesn't feel pretentious. They do take reservations or walk ins. We went right after opening and got a seat at the bar without issue (did have a reservation but our dinner took a bit longer in the restaurant portion of the place). The bartender was attentive and gave us recommendations on what to try based on our likes. Even when the place became super packed he kept checking on us. They do offer bites to eat but it's literally tied to a restaurant so if you want something more filling you can eat there. Unlike other speakeasy's they do not have a time limit for how long you can stay which is nice. This definitely ranks in my top two speakeasy's to go to in Broward. There is valet parking only, I couldn't get the tip to work on the app but luckily the person I was with had cash. read more

We were looking for a good speakeasy in Ft. Lauderdale. There was one were really liked that, unfortunately, is now closed. In doing the research, we learned of Hidden. One of the great things is that it is close to where we are and it not in the thick of the Las Olas madness. Sometimes you want a cool spot to have a proper cocktail, with retro music, leather chesterfield couches, low lighting-- that is not surrounded by trendy, touristy places. This speakeasy is located inside the fabulous Spanish restaurant Eatapas. As you go through the secret passageway, it is a total vibe transition from being in Spain having perfect tapas, dinner to stepping into a dark, elegant cocktail lounge. The cocktails were chef's kiss perfect: I always love a good prohibition era cocktail such as the Bee's knees. I ordered the "Proscription - Bees Knees" which is made with genuine egg whites (classic!) The hubby had 'The Mystery Treasure' which is sort of a refined margarita (tequila, lime, sparkling water, lime juice, agave, fresh basil, served with a butterfly pea flower infused sphere) oh, my! heard about this place through a friend and I'm so happy I came to check it out. It's only about five months old and still a little low-key. It's in a small strip mall, but it is decorated nicely on the outside and looks very authentic. When you walk in you have to go through some curtains to find the actual room and you are immediately transported into a 1920s prohibition era speak easy, with all of the fixtures, decor, and music. they have an elaborate cocktail menu, with " libations" from the 20s on the first page, and then a multitude of craft cocktails on the pages to follow. They also have food, which I didn't know at first, but we had already eaten prior. I decided to try the mystery treasure cocktail, which was a take on a margarita with Don, Julio, Blanco, butterfly, pea, flower, agave, and a blue ice sphere with gold flaking peeking out. It was beautiful and came in an ornate glass. My friend opted for the clover club, gin cocktail, which was equally delicious. They were so fresh and foamy. No steel at almost $20 per drink, but that's typical these days in this area. The staff was really nice and greeted us immediately when we walked in, despite a reasonably packed bar. The place itself is small, one room, which can accommodate about 20 guests comfortably. I really enjoyed the jazzy music, it gave an authentic genuine, feel to the place and kept the vibe going.
