Purchased a 2018 Ford Expedition Max from Carvana with the expectation that it had passed their 150-point inspection. Within days of delivery, the vehicle developed a significant mechanical issue and ultimately required two engine replacements under the 100-day limited warranty. The vehicle was out of service from early January through March. While the repairs themselves were completed under warranty, the extended downtime, rental limitations, and overall disruption during the earliest stage of ownership had a significant impact. In reviewing the inspection report, I also noticed that certain engine-related components had been marked as "fixed" or "replaced" prior to sale. Given that the vehicle required a full engine replacement shortly after delivery--and that the first replacement also failed--it raised reasonable questions about the effectiveness of the inspection process before the vehicle was sold. Additional issues occurred during this period, including a theft incident while the vehicle was at an in-network repair facility and a registration issue where a new tag was issued instead of transferring my existing one. I did request a goodwill review to address the overall ownership impact beyond standard warranty coverage, but no additional consideration was offered. Sharing this for transparency so others can understand how situations like this may be handled beyond the warranty terms. read more

Despite some minor glitches with paperwork & communication, the transaction took place with very little hassle & absolutely no running around. Not to mention the obvious: no pushy salespeople! I enjoyed the convenience of the buying process however I can't say this company provides a thorough service process on its cars. 7 days into my new car I've found incongruent bolts on my exhaust gasket causing rattling, bolts missing on my splash guard, front windshield was replaced but was not disclosed on reports. Minor things that cause confusion as to why a huge corporation would let that pass. All good, I understand that's the cost of doing business however, customer service only applies if you're looking to buy a car or you're within the 7 day return window. Anything outside of that is a "welp it's your problem now" kind of attitude. After speaking to corporate and Silver Rock - I approached their storefront just looking for a decent human conversation but it seemed as though I was bothering them with my presence/questions. I got what I expected. A mechanically sound vehicle with some normal wear and tear. I am a little disappointed with the quality of the detail work. It looked like the detail department rushed through the wash. No buffing of the paint was performed and an abrasive chemical was sprayed on most of the interior plastics, to include the instrument cluster, that left some mild pitting. Having the car delivered was awesome. Not having an included carfax report was disappointing. Overall the experience was ok, but I am not sure if I would go the same route next time. read more

I recently purchased through Carvana, and wow! It was far easier than I thought it would be. I had heard some good, and some bad and decided to take a look at them. The offer that they made on my trade was more that fair. I was able to find the exact car that I wanted at a great price.. After some consideration, I decided to pull the trigger. It took about an hour total to complete the process and get through all of the purchase requirements. Document upload was very easy and the financing pre-approval was fast with only one hard pull to my credit, unlike standard dealers, which do several pulls through their various lenders. Carvana is very transparent about the fees and costs associated with purchase, including delivery charges, where applicable. That delivery charge is non refundable, but also gets applied to the cost of the car. A delivery date was set with a window of 3 hours, and the day before delivery I received a few final documents to e-sign which covered title transfer for my trade and other standard registration and proof of insurance documents. On delivery day, I received a call from the driver about 45 minutes prior to delivery to give me his eta and reverify the drop-off address. The driver showed up well within the delivery time window, and was professional and courteous. He unloaded the car, handed me the key fobs and asked me to take a look through the car to ensure that everything was in order. He asked if I wanted to take it for a drive prior to finalizing the transaction, which I declined. After an inspection of my trade to ensure everything looked good, he loaded it on his truck, had me sign a few digital acknowledgements and was on his way. This car buying experience is the type of thing that can finally rid the world of the standard dealership model with pushy, over-eager salesmen, condescending finance managers and hidden dealer fees. This was a great experience and I highly recommend giving Carvana a look for your next car purchase. For the record, i am receiving absolutely no compensation of any type for this review; I'm just extremely satisfied. The one critique that I have, if any is that I would like to see a few exterior pictures of the car in an outside, sunny environment. The white background on the turntable just doesn't do justice to some of the cars that have complex paint jobs, especially ones like mine.. It looks 100% better in real life than any of the pictures that I saw on the website. read more

This has actually been the most pathetic piss poor service of a dealership and process. Absolutely asinine. I purchased the car February 21nd and received it the next day on the 22nd. By 12:12 pm I was receiving an overheating warning.... thats less than 10 minutes it took to receive this warning. With promise that the car would be fixed we pushed my 7 say warranty to yesterday, Friday March 6th. This mechanic IS a mechanic that is in network with carvana. Ive been making the phone calls and ensuring communication between carvana, silverrock and the mechanic. Which has also been a nightmare. CARVANA PROVIDES NO OTHER COMPENSATION OTHER THAN PUSJING OUT YOUR WARRANTY TRIAL PERIOD. First of all if I return the car YOURE STILL GOING TO HAVE TO FIX IT AND THE FACT THAT YOU PROVIDE NO OTHER COMPENSATION OR ACCOMMODATION FOR SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD IS COMPLETELY ASININE. Ive been polite, patient, and understanding. Ive shared my frustrations with timing and lack of communication and my hesiitancy and was promised reassurance within a certain time frame to resolve the issue which has not been met. Just to by the way be told that I can find a rental and be reimbursed a rental I could only get after the claim was approved which TOOK. Planning day trips to take the bus to try and save on costs to get my essentials while dealing with people that seem to have the hardest time navigating a gps- having inappropriate drivers who now know where i live or work constantly hitting on me. Not only did you deny me my peace and safety but to then have the audacity to expect me to be grateful for getting the fixed of something that shouldn't have been sold and clearly didnt go through any type of inspection because if it had you would have know about the issue because it took less than 10 damn minutes to receive the warning. This is actually crazy. And to now be waiting until Monday because the mechanic shop didnt confirm that they had all the parts during delivery again a mechanic that is in network... provided off CARVANAS website..... Took delivery of our new ride on 12/28/25. After a short ride got the dreaded check engine light. Consulted with Carvana's warranty provider and dropped it off at a Porsche service center on 12/31. As of this review it is still in the shop having the water pump replaced and ongoing trouble shooting with the dynamic engine mount system. If Carvana stands behind the repairs I'll come back and leave a more positive review. read more

I have purchased and sold several vehicles from Carvana in the past, and in the past they had very low or even no shipping fees, but over the past few years they have turned to fraudulent company that tries to charge you with shipping fees that can range over 2,000 dollars, similar to what VROOM did that resulted in them going out of business eventually, They show no evidence of why any particular vehicle requires 1,999.00 for shipping, and they typically target more desirable vehicles for larger shipping fees, they will offer lower or free shipping for less desirable vehicles, this is total fraud, and greed to increase profits only. Also, a good portion of the vehicles are prior rentals or purchased at auctions. I would avoid Carvana, but if you decide to purchase a vehicle with them, check the carfax and only purchase vehicles with free shipping, worst thing you can do is start a car loan in the negative paying a 1,999 shipping fee. Look for the "free shipping" search option when you search vehicles, unfortunately you will see that the more desirable vehcles have high shipping fees. goodam greedy bastards. read more

Overall I had a great experience. I was looking into trading my vehicle and get something newer. I had checked a few other similar sites and a couple of dealerships, Carvana offered the most for my vehicle. So I rolled the dice. I started my purchase on a Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. I also was doing my own financing through my credit union as they had a better rate than Carvana. The suggested delivery date was in exactly one weeks time. Because of the holiday I wasn't able to get to my paperwork (loan from my CU and Insurance) until Monday. I was able to get everything done and uploaded by Tuesday and my delivery was set the following day between 11am - 2pm. I received a call about 10:30am confirming my address and that I would be around. They showed up right at 11am. They dropped off my new car and took my old one by 11:30am. Pretty wild. If you don't mind staying on top of a day or two of emails, signing docs, etc. I would definitely recommend trying Carvana. read more

Ridiculous down payments highest by literally thousands I ever have been required to pay up front my latest down payment was over 5 grand for extremely cheap cars no more than 9k thats insane. My credit is not that poor to justify their non negotiable prices. I can go get aporoved literally anywhere with paying at most maybe 1 grand down payments. They are worse than drive time prices, dont do business with them. You deal with online process thinking thats easiest, well nit when theres no one to fight for you to get a vehicle at a price and down payments that are reasonable not this outrageous offer they always promise to give but bever is what they promise, i was told a grand or less, well I get fooled every time I quote. Alright, I will tell you that throughout this process I was skeptical. I never thought that I would get a fair price selling a car this way, but I WAS WRONG! When I entered my VIN and other information about the car on the Carvana price negotiated, I had checked other used car buying guides. I had deciddd the price I would accept for this vehicle. I even asked my brother who worked for a Ford dealership in his hometown, and he gave me a price that fit within my price frame. So when I saw the price from Carvana, it was slightly more than I was expecting. And then as I looked further at the offer, I was going to have to take the car 3 hours away from where I live and then somehow get a ride back home. When I contacted the online support, it said I could request another choice. I tried repeatedly to do this to no avail. The next day I checked the same information and it offered me another choice 2 hours away OR someone would h ch one pick it up from my home for $40. I HAD A WINNER! So I signed the online papers, arranged a time for the pickup to occur, I followed all of the instructions about preparing the vehicle. And exactly like they said, a person arrived with a tow truck, checked out the vehicle got my title, and owner manual, took some pictures of my drivers license, gave me the check, loaded the car and was gone within an hour. No haggling, no arguing, it was so easy; my skeptical self is still shocked, put my practical self is very appreciative. read more

So this is the third time in the last 36 months I've purchased a vehicle from the Carvana in Jacksonville, with each purchase experience diminishing with each experience. #1 (2020) My experience was fantastic, smooth, vehicle condition was 100% as described. Zero Complaints whatsoever. #2 (2022) Vehicle condition was not 100% accurate, few more paint chips than advertised. The detail job was terrible, but overall happy with the car, price, communication, etc. #3 (2023) Things really when downhill in hurry. Kept in mind this was 6 months +/- after the company restructured things to become more profitable and avoid a possible future bankruptcy. (Remember those headlines from March 2023) I ordered a car and the first thing that stuck out to me was the condition of the vehicle, which came with a clean CarFax as a vehicle with no reported accidents. But upon inspection, I found a 3rd party reconditioning check list for the vehicle that was not done by Carvana. I looked through the paperwork and nothing really jumped out. But then as I inspected the vehicle itself, I noticed that 3 out of 4 body panels had RECENTLY been repainted (horribly I might add) and each was a slightly different shade of pearl white. As a former commerical painter, I immediately picked up on what sections had been repainted, overspray in the fenders, and wrinkles in the paint where they didn't correctly tape/ mask off the vehicle before painting. Something most people wouldn't pick up on, but I sure did. (As did my eagle eyed wife who has no painting experience, it was that obvious) So I denied the car but I was really taken back by the experience. However, this is where things got interesting. I went back and looked at my order history and noticed every car I have purchased from Carvana was "Carvana Certified." Meanwhile vehicle #3 was not. So I had that thought, maybe its my fault for not noticing it wasn't Carvana Certified. In my mind, that would also explain the 3rd party recondition paperwork. But then a few days later, car #3 was back online listed for sale, but now all of a sudden it was now Carvana Certified- and it was pending sale to another unsuspecting customer with the same mismatched body panels. 3 years ago I was very complimentary of Carvana and recommended them to anyone who asked me. Today, I would not recommend them as there are some shady things going on, I assume to become more profitable. So buyer beware. Because again, as I write this, its currently pending sale to another unsuspecting buyer as a Carvana Certified vehicle. I truly hope they read this prior to taking delivery, cause if they are not as observant, they are in for a suprise. read more
