It was super easy to sell our car to Carvana. I had expected a lot more hassle. All I had to do was take some pictures, upload them, and I had my offer. The sale happened the same day! We even had a person come pick up the car since since live in VA and they'll come get it for a fee (which is just a deduction from the amount they pay you for it). Price was competitive compared to what the guy at the garage and other dealers offered us (they were all about the same) and it would have been a lot more paperwork for us (getting a bill of sale, etc) if we'd gone with the garage. read more

I made a substantial purchase of a new Mercedes - one year old. The transaction was easy enough, and they weee very nice to work with. But - the vehicle which passes state inspection and their "150 point inspection" doesn't have a wind screen washing functioning. There is a significant transmission issue (easily fixed). And yes, I can bring it back within 7 days, but since it's still under warranty, I'll just bring it to the MB dealership who will do a better job to be sure. Carvana put me on the road with a car that wasn't entirely safe, drivable? Sure. But issues shifting down to 4th from 5th that engage emergency breaking is a real road risk. I'm disappointed. Love my car, just wish I bought it in the condition advertised. If anyone drove this on the highway or over 40MPH they would have seen this was an issue. If they did notice and did nothing about it, well that's just negligence. read more

Pros- Fixed price, much like CarMax, 100% online from start of inquiry to schedule pickup. Very fair value for either trade-in/resale for cash. I paid cash, but financing and insurance is available option. Biggest plus is HUGE selection of used cars. Cons- Biggest disappointment to me was- 1. Zero in house post sale support. No introduction to your new car. Just "sign here, here's your keys, have a good day. Then ONE guy runs around like an animal supporting the entire site facility. 2. Dirty, smelly, unkempt, and, again, nobody to complain or fix. Remember It's your car before you ever see it!! 3. They don't warrant/guarantee "removable items." For example, This includes owners manual, floor mats, charging cable (if it's plug-in, hybrid), keys to lug nuts , first aid kit, tire tools/jack, spare tire, etc. My hybrid had almost 22,000 Myles in 2023 Hyundai. As a good practice for any used car purchase decided to replace the cabin air filter and engineer filter. Boy-oh-boy, was I glad I did. With just a little over 20,000 original miles there was leaves in the cabin air filter and black debris particles in the engine intake filter. All tire pressure was in the green, but there's a wide variation from the highest to the lowest psi. Indicating zero inspection of anything on the vehicle. The process was easy, but be prepared to return within seven days per the policy should that be your COA. read more

First time using Carvana so I was nervous. Carvana offered $2000 more than the dealerships and Carmax so I was skeptical about it. I read their reviews and Carvana seems like a legit company. I had some questions and called their 1800 numbers but couldn't reach the live agent on the phone. The best way to contact them was via texting. I did have some problems uploading my information. I had to upload the same documents several times. Once they received the documents, it took a few hours for them to verify the documents and accept my offer. You can drop off your car or have them pick it up for a fee. We chose the drop-off option and made an appointment. The address they gave me wasn't one of their hubs. It was an auction lot, run by a company called Adesa. When we got there the main entrance door was locked. There were security guards by the parking lot but none of them worked for Carvana. They said just wait at the parking lot. A few minutes after 3 pm (our appointment time) a guy from Carvana came out of a side door. He was friendly and assured us that he worked for Carvana. He took some pictures and checked out the car. The whole process took about 15 minutes. He gave us the check for the agreed-upon price. Overall, we had a good experience using Carvana to sell our Madza 3. We would use Carvana again if we ever need to sell our cars. read more

They didn't go over my truck and after getting home it kinda pointless now because there's new additional damage that was on the truck when I picked it up. I even had to have them air up the rear passenger tire because it was roughly 30# under. The interior didn't get a once over either. I had to delete at least 4 or 5 phones from the trucks Bluetooth. The truck is fine, it's a work truck, it's doing it's job. I just wish it had been done better so that I didn't feel like I kinda got took for extra. Don't trust r/Carvana subreddit. Regretting My Carvana Purchase - 2016 GLE 350 Has Been a Nightmare Purchased a 2016 Mercedes GLE 350 from Carvana on July 10, 2025 with ~70-80K miles. Deeply regretting it and wanted to share my experience. Problems discovered: Worn tires: Completely worn on delivery. Was discovered in state inspection. The guy told me that he passes it but recommended to change tires immediately. I paid out of pocket but later discovered that I might have had it replaced under Carvana's 100 day warranty. How did this even pass Carvana inspection? At least, they could have mentioned this in the description. Electrical issues: Blind spot and lane keeping assist are not stable since the day I bought the car. They sometimes work and sometimes don't work. I had them 'repaired' in MB of Burlington (MA) dealership within my 100-day warranty period. The repair was not properly done but that is another story (Service at MB of Burlington sucks). Most recent issues in November-December 2025 (1 month after 100-day warranty expired): Electrical issues: Turn signals stopped working mid-drive. Only worked after engine restart. Intermittent and unreliable - major safety concern. Engine failure: Recent severe shaking, blinking check engine light. Diagnosed as cylinder 5 misfire and ignition coil failure. Vehicle is now unsafe to drive. Repair estimate: material cost $250 for one ignition coil, $22 for one spark plug + $160/hour labor (Total minimum ~$600 to repair only one cylinder, $2400 for all cylinders + taxes). Pattern suggests this might have developed before I bought it. Deferred maintenance: Service B was overdue at 1 month after 100 days warranty expired (Cost: ~$900 + taxes). The frustrating part: All of these should have been caught in Carvana's "150-point inspection" and should have been included in the car's description. But Carvana has intentionally hid these details. I'm now facing minimum $1500 - $3500 + taxes in immediate repairs for basic safety and maintenance issues on a vehicle I just purchased. My advice: If you use Carvana, get an independent inspection within the 7-day return window. Don't trust their inspection at all. Or don't buy from them if you're looking for something at ~$20K. Note: I have already talked to their customer service but 'they apologized for inconvenience' and they 'were sorry about this'. That's all what they could say. To sell my car, I went through the entire process of giving my private information to what I thought was Carvana in Portland, due to Yelp's page here, only to find out, after they had all of my data, that I was dealing with Carvana in Massachusetts and not only won't they pick up my car, their "support" crew didn't even know if they even had a dealership in Portland, Maine. Had I known this, I never would have started the process. Carvana does not stand behind the cars it sells. They state all cars go through a 150 point inspection but my car had rusted brake rotors which caused a small tweak when I pressed the brakes. I tried to use the warranty but was denied. I highly recommend carmax which stands behind its cars. read more

Was told they would pay for it to be removed if it was illegal, it was, but then they wouldn't pay even though I tried to get it removed right away within 7 days. The reps that handled the sale of my care were great. It was easy to contact the customer service line. However, it was not explained to me why they could not deliver my car to me. I understand that they have schedules for car pickups. But the first time I tried to pickup my car I was running late. Apparently, Carvana will not wait for you past 15 min. I don't live near the location where I needed to pick up my car, so I had no choice but to reschedule and extend my rental. Then when I picked up my car it seems like the car was not detailed or cleaned. Granted when I picked up the car the region was still recovering from a winter storm. But the interior of the car was not cleaned. There were smudges all over the dash, finger prints, the steering wheel felt dirty. If I would compare it to the cars I bought from CarMax. The cars I got from CarMax were nice and detailed by the time they gave it to me. Overall I would rate my buying experience with Carvana as 6 out of 10. read more

The employee did not invite us to go indoors despite the poor weather. We had to look after ourselves. After several text messages encouraging our sell via Carvana, our vehicle was rejected. Our car is beautiful, well maintained and low mileage. After driving an hour to get to Sterling in bad weather- he couldn't do the diagnostics. Such incompetence. First of all, I reject the total lack of human interaction as the approach to conduct business. A simple, brief conversation with a human representative to answer my questions and allay my concerns at the beginning would have made my experience so much better. Lacking that, I bailed on my first attempt when I was directed to log in to my personal bank account while on the Carvana website. Second time around I opted for the check - successful, but expect a bank "hold" on your funds. The Carvana office/reception area was cold and austere - some upholstered foam blocks served as "furniture" - but totally appropriate, I thought, to conclude my Tesla experience. The Carvana assistant was human enough and the transfer was completed in fifteen minutes as advertised. After submitting the required documentation, we were notified the vehicle was ready for pickup at Carvana's Norwood office, an hour from our home. Upon arriving at the office, however, we were informed the vehicle had not yet arrived in the state. We drove home without the vehicle, despite planning our weekend around this commitment. After spending considerable time on the phone with Carvana's customer service team, we rescheduled for home delivery the following week at our own expense. My husband took a day off work to accommodate this delivery, only to find that the Jeep did not arrive as promised. We were then told to expect the vehicle the following week. Again, my husband rearranged his work schedule, and yet again, the delivery did not take place. After hours spent in communication with Carvana representatives and multiple failed delivery attempts, we had no choice but to cancel our order and purchase a vehicle from a local dealership.
