Didn't realize Carvana sold lemons until they sold me one. I bought a Subaru Outback that they claimed was in great condition and had passed their inspection. I also traded in my existing vehicle as part of the purchase. Within the 7-day return period, I took the Outback to my trusted mechanic, who put it on a lift and immediately found severe rust throughout the undercarriage. He was shocked by the condition of the vehicle and told me it was worth about 5% of what I paid and should be scrapped for parts. The fact that Carvana either missed or failed to disclose rust this extensive is completely unacceptable. While Carvana did take the vehicle back, they did nothing to compensate me for the time and expenses this caused. I had already purchased an insurance policy for the car and was not reimbursed for that expense. I also spent hours arranging inspections, paperwork, customer service calls, and transportation because of a problem Carvana created. The worst part? When I discovered the condition of the Outback, I asked if I could buy my old car back. Carvana refused. Do not buy from these scammers!

Smooth, Painless Selling Experience with Carvana Selling my vehicle through Carvana was truly a painless and straightforward experience. My partner and I purchased our 2011 Ford Edge on 8/21/14 from CarMax in Laurel, MD, with only 19,879 miles. Over time, she became much more than just a car, and I later named her Jazzmine, a symbol of countless smooth journeys and great jazz along the way. Since 8/21/24, I had been receiving fluctuating estimates through the Carvana Value Tracker. This vehicle held a lot of sentimental value for me; it even carried my partner and me on a memorable 7-day holiday road trip in May 2024, traveling from Washington, DC through eight states (MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, NH) all the way to Bar Harbor, Maine. When the time came to sell, I did my homework first. I contacted CarMax and two Ford dealerships, but their offers were far less favorable. Carvana ultimately provided the best and most competitive quote. After a few conversations with my partner, I decided to move forward and completed the online selling process on 1/19/26. The process was simple and efficient. I answered a few questions and easily uploaded my odometer reading (226,838 miles), reviewed the checklist, and electronically signed all required documents. Carvana also sent several helpful email reminders leading up to my appointment, which made it easy to stay on track. I sold Jazzmine early Saturday, 1/24/26. The drop-off appointment itself was quick and smooth, though I will note the location was not the most convenient for me (about 50 miles away - Gaithersburg, MD). One small hiccup: the ACH payment option didn't work for me through the portal, so I opted to receive a check instead. There were no hidden fees or purchase obligations. Kudos to Nestor, who was friendly, focused, and well-prepared. He answered my questions clearly, completed the process efficiently, test-drove Jazzmine, and even reminded me to return my license plates before canceling my insurance, a detail I truly valued. Overall, the experience was easy, transparent, and stress-free. And to be honest, I got a little emotional during the final moments. Even something as simple as removing the back license plate reminded me countless journeys traveled with Jazzmine alone and with loved ones including our fur babies. A great first time experience! I definitely recommend Carvana to anyone looking to sell their vehicle with minimal hassle, especially when parting with a vehicle that has meant so much.

I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of the entire transaction. Everything was done online and communication throughout the process was outstanding. The amount I received exceeded the quote offered by the big competitor. I paid a modest amount ($90) for car pick up, as the drop off location was over 100 miles away. If you are looking for a hassle free way to sell your car, I definitely recommend Carvana.

Falsified inspection report.
Donald F.

I don't trust the Carvana inspection report, there is no way this car was "detailed." Every exterior seam and crevice is dirty--like it sat in the desert for a few months--the windshield has about four or five chips and cracks in it, and the cabin smells like the ashtray of a heavy smoker. It also did not get washed after transport because I had to scrub the dead bugs off the front and back. On the mechanical side, the rear differential leaks and the Carvana Warranty does not cover it.

All headliner door handles missing, can feel the holes beneath the headliner, as sold to me by Carvana.

Review of Fitzgerald Toyota Gaithersburg - Selling My Vehicle…read more My experience selling a truck to this dealership was extremely frustrating and I would caution anyone considering doing the same. They require sellers to deliver the vehicle to the dealership, stating they will reimburse the cost of a rental car for the trip home since they do not pick vehicles up. I followed their process exactly and rented a car for the return trip. Despite multiple attempts to contact them afterward, I was never reimbursed for the rental they recommended. . Payment was also delayed. They received the title on February 5th but did not issue payment until February 13th, and that only occurred after I reached out twice asking for an update. Another concerning point: the truck was listed for sale on their website before they had paid me or even received the title. To make matters worse, my license plates were never returned. I have documentation of the agreements, the premature listing, timeline of title delivery and payment, and my attempts to follow up about the rental reimbursement. Overall this process felt disorganized, poorly communicated, and far more difficult than it should have been. If you plan to sell a vehicle here, I strongly recommend getting everything in writing and being prepared for delays, last-minute price changes, and follow-up issues.

I came the next day to pick the part up and asked for a complimentary car wash and they declined....just ridiculous. One of the worst dealers I've been to. If you must go to Honda go to the one in greenbelt and just ask for Lateef! He's great! Never coming back to this silver spring location again... Update: the owner gave me a phone call and apologized to my situation and I was able to get a car wash the following day. So I did appreciate that. Raheem was very kind when I came back in and got me sorted

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM HERE!!! I had one of the worst…read moredealership experiences I've ever dealt with, involving the following "managers" Paul Angel, Rob Buaynstein, Jason Buts, and Mussa Fowl. I live in Virginia and went through the full process of purchasing a vehicle from this Maryland dealership in good faith. Here's what happened: * I contacted the dealership about a specific vehicle and was told multiple times they expected me to come purchase it. * I paid out of pocket to have a mechanic drive 40 minutes to inspect the vehicle before buying. * I repeatedly asked to place a deposit or hold on the car, but was told they "don't hold vehicles due to corporate policy." Despite that, they continued to tell me things like "see you tomorrow" and prepared me as if the deal was happening. On Friday morning: * They had me submit a credit application (which I was told would be a soft pull, but it turned into a hard inquiry). * They sent me a signed buyer's order with the VIN and price, which I submitted to my credit union. * My credit union approved the loan and issued a check payable directly to the dealership for the full amount. * I sent them proof of the check, and they told me to come pick up the car that same day. While I was literally on the way (3 hours out), after sending them the check confirmation: * They informed me someone else was coming to look at the vehicle. * Then told me whether the car sold was "above my pay grade." * Shortly after, they sold the vehicle to someone else. When I called to resolve the situation, I was given the runaround by multiple managers: * I was told the check "doesn't hold the car" * They claimed someone else "was already in the system" * And ultimately said they were no longer selling it to me The call ended abruptly with no resolution. Key issues: * Misleading communication throughout the entire process * Hard credit inquiry after being told it would be soft * Sending a signed buyer's order, then backing out after financing was secured * Accepting proof of payment and telling me to come in, then selling the car anyway * Complete lack of professionalism from management Bottom line: I spent money on a mechanic inspection, took a credit hit, secured financing, and drove hours based on their word--only to have the vehicle sold out from under me at the last minute. This dealership does not honor its commitments and does not operate in good faith. Proceed with extreme caution.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the service department. I have been coming to…read morethem for service for years. Since I purchased the vehicle in 2022. All my work was performed here. I even had an engine replaced by this dealership and after a year there are oil leaks found. The service department is somehow always backed up when I drop off and if I schedule it Tuesday to be seen it won't be seen till a day or two later. I had taken the car several times to address a coolant leak and every time was something different and I would pay my dues. A year or so later im back with coolant leak AGAIN after addressing this issues 3 different times. When I'm speaking to them, there was no willingness of taking responsibility for the possibility that these issues could be related to previous work completed here. I expressed my concerns and was told there was nothing they could do, and the expenses are all on me that the coolant leak is related to new reason. I understand vehicles age and repairs sometimes unrelated but i expected better. I mean three different times? three different issues and now less than 2 years I'm leaking coolant again? I called Stellantis who tells me to come in and so they can submit a goodwill review to only get rejected because Stellantis does not take good will reviews for cars over 2019. How convenient my car is 2018... So now Stellantis rep tells me to come and now I have a diagnostic fee of $240 or so. Ive spent MORE than $5k on repairs to this car for issues that keep recurring so I would think the year does not matter because it's about the work BUT NO! Youd think they'd be somewhat kind to at least help given the history and how only they have worked on the car and each time I have paid alllll major work no problem. A whole new engine and tons of repairs for coolant leak? So yes, I'm frustrated and hoping for assistance but nope. A multimillion-dollar company could not just try and understand my point of view. Extremely disappointed and extremely fed up with this location and Stellantis. So, I do not recommend them based of my years dealing with them. OH and yes, after my attempt for the goodwill review, they still made me pay the diagnostic fee but gave me $60 dollars off, at least, right?..... i asked them to waive it because i would not have brought it if Stellantis did not suggest and send me this way for nothing... so just overall horrible all around. The service advisor, I do not blame him. Bucky was sweet and kind. Jonnie, who no longer is there super kind as well. John on the other hand. Some managers I never see and when I did see him one time, he dismissed my concern about my hood because " to replace an engine they do not remove the hood" AND when I explained how Stellantis is suggesting doing goodwill, he does not sound too pleased and when I explain the work i've got done he sounds, again, like he's uninterested, dismissing my concern and when I mention i've gotten a brand new engine replaced with them he has the feel to tell me the engines are remanufactured... but when i got the work done, the service advisor reiterated the engine is BRAND new... I asked multiple times and he reassured, brand new. not remanufactured. So I'm DONE working with them. I should have read the reviews before deciding on using them, but I thought dealerships would be best to take care of your car.... I know writing this story won't change anything, ive already wasted time, money and energy here but hopefully someone can avoid them.... To top it off, I took the vehicle to two other mechanics, and they expressed how poor and "Sloppy" the repair/work was.

I found the car online and it was reasonably priced, a little lower than similar vehicles at other dealers. Justin, who was relatively new at the time, was the salesman. We went for a test drive, then headed into the office to review the car history and sign the paperwork. The atmosphere was casual, no pressure. Justin attempted to answer my questions, what he didn't know, another salesman, Tony, helped with. The manager/owner also came out and discussed how they get and vet cars. Everyone was pleasant to work with and it really was a no-haggle/hassle processes. The paperwork was simple enough and I drove away with the vehicle the same day.

We took the car back to member car for A/C service three weeks after we brought it. It appears that the A/C issues that we had with the vehicle (That were not corrected) led to other issues such as coolant leak into the #3 cylinder (head gasket issues) which caused the turbo issue. Our son returned to school Richmond, VA four weeks later and alerted us that the car would not go above 20 miles per hour. We had him take the car to the shop in Richmond, and they alerted us that both the fuel injectors and the turbo have gone bad on the car. We found an outstanding shop in Richmond that diagnosed the issues that the car dealer should have noticed. Cylinder 2 and cylinder 3 misfire codes. The shop performed cylinder air fuel ratio test and vehicle failed due to cylinder 4 running too rich. Based on this the engine is more than likely leaning out the vehicle which is causing cylinders 1,2 and 3 to misfire. Cylinder 4 injector has gone bad. Due to condition of vehicle misfiring they did not test drive vehicle but performed cylinder air fuel test at idle. After replacing injectors and running vehicle we found noise coming from engine area. Narrowed noise down to a bad or failing waste gate on turbo. With waste gate unplugged the noise is not present. The shop took off the inlet pipe going into the turbo to confirm that the turbo compressor wheel does have lots of shaft play and does not spin well at all which confirms the turbo itself is bad causing the lack in power while trying to accelerate The shop looked the vehicle over and only found that the A/C condenser has a spot where it looks like it may be leaking some but the A/C was cold The shop found that find head gasket is blown, by doing a coolant pressure test and pretty quickly the test lost pressure, they found water in cylinder #3. The vehicle needed a head gasket replacement, turbocharger replacement including the fuel injectors. WE HAD TO PAY $5000 AND WE JUST BROUGHT THE CAR FOR $15000. WE TRIED TO CALL THE OWNER AND HE IGNORED OUR CALLS, THEN ALL OF A SUDDENHE GOT COVID. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM MEMBER CAR.
