Carvelanche with m&ms & wet walnuts
    Angela S.

This carvel is so skimpy. I ordered from door dash tonight. This carvel is literally 4 minutes away from me and my ice cream came melted. Not really sure if they kept my ice cream out or what but they really should keep it in the fridge until the dasher gets there. I ordered a small carvelanche with m&ms and wet walnuts and it was all mostly ice cream. Barely any of the toppings that I had ordered. This is the second time that I had ordered and both came with barely any toppings. Disappointed because I feel like I wasted my money. Would I order from here again? Probably not.

Vanilla cherry ice cream with nice big cherries..

I believe the owner, an older asian guy helped me.. I ordered the second smallest cup figuring I could get 2 small scoops of whatever I wanted.. He told me I had to get the next size up which was less than $1 more.. Why have so many close in size options?? And why not give me what I wanted in that cup? Its the same ammount of ice cream either way.. Besides that the place could use a little cleaning.

I showed up a bit too early on a Saturday after a nearby lunch, keep in mind they open at 2 p.m. on Saturdays. I was not about to miss out, so I read in my car for a half hour before being "that customer" that's waiting when the door opens. The two women working took my early arrival completely in stride and were impressively professional throughout my time there. They were engaging and once they heard I was a first time customer, gave me a rundown of the menu and their process. The shop is impeccably clean, modern, and features comfortable seating. I went with an original chimney cake and it was made fresh. I selected a drizzle of their store made dulce de leche and after a brief wait, it was ready. I really enjoyed the chimney cake, crispy exterior and a tender interior. Just sweet enough. I would certainly try it with their ice cream in the future but I'm glad I tried it on its own the first time. Excellent experience!

Every time I walk in, if they don't call me by name like they did today, I've gotten asked if I was a first time customer there. If you answer no, you get a whole rundown on what their product is -- Chimney cakes, Kurly Kones (my favorite), all of it. It feels very interactive, like it's almost elevated from, "You're here to get food" to "you're here for an experience." I brought my sister here once when she was in town and she told me it was the best ice cream she'd ever had. It is extremely good. The service is done with heart and I've never ordered here and not had my ice cream come in a freshly baked cone. There's always a conversation a good snack. They make you feel like family when you're there and I've gone several times now for that alone. You won't find many places that are as thorough about getting to know their customers as Kurly is. Excellent experience as always, and I will be back.

As a young kid from Louisiana, one of the first things I missed was the culture, flavor, and sweet treats that reminded me of home in New Orleans. Back then, my teammates used to tease me relentlessly about being the "fat rookie from Louisiana" because I was always chasing pralines, cookies, pastries, and every sugary delight imaginable. Not long after arriving, I stumbled upon a hidden gem that instantly made me feel at home -- Lyndhurst Pastry Shop. This led me to "SACKING" tons of NFC QB's over the years. From day one, Paulette, Jerry, her father, and the entire staff have treated me like family. Decades later, they are still absolutely knocking it out of the park. Whether it's their incredible Italian ice, authentic cannoli, specialty cookies, or my personal weakness -- their unbelievable apple rings -- this place never disappoints. Truth be told, I can't stop there without bringing one home for my wife. Some places serve food. Others serve memories, tradition, and comfort. Lyndhurst Pastry Shop has done that for me for over 40 years. A true North Jersey institution. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Leonard A. I ordered the Christmas Honey balls ($19.95) and the Fudge Layer Cake ($29.50) and while I disagree with the credit card fee being passed to the consumer, the quality of the product exceeds that cost. Inside the venue is a true classic bakery atmosphere and while there is usually a line, the service is brisk and moves fairly quickly. If you want to impress your holiday season guests, family or friends, the LPS is the right venue for traditional Italian baked goods and desserts! As i return to NJ for the holidays, I will make at least three or four stops at LPS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
