Cancer Patient Refused $500 Refund - Poorly Done Microblading…read more I am a recently diagnosed cancer patient that was seeking to get my eyebrows microbladed. I went to Maria @mariialash for microblading/"nano brows". Her price for this service is $500. I wanted to get this done prior to starting chemo so I could still have natural-looking brows during treatment. Unfortunately, 100% of the pigment that Maria put on my eyebrows fell out, despite following her care instructions. I informed her of this and sent a photo of my plain brows, stating that I am starting treatment any minute and will be unable to do anything that may compromise my immune system such as getting a tattoo, for at least the next year. At this time I requested a refund. She has refused to disperse a refund stating that her disclaimers her clients sign state this could happen. A flimsy "disclaimer" does not excuse a business from providing good service and exercising good judgement. I do not recommend trusting Maria with your money nor your brows.

She paid $500 for the service, hoping to have brows before starting chemotherapy. Unfortunately, despite following the aftercare instructions, 100% of the pigment fell out and she was left with zero results. I've had my own brows microbladed at a different business for over five years, and my experience was nothing like this. When my friend reached out, she provided photos and explained that she could not attempt a correction because of her upcoming chemo and radiation, and asked for a refund. Maria refused, citing a disclaimer. But a disclaimer doesn't excuse poor results or lack of accountability. For such an important and time-sensitive service, this was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend trusting this business with your money.

Hannah gave me my facial and was great. Explained everything to me and checked to make sure the tools were not causing me discomfort. The room was cleaned and had soothing music played during my experience. I tried hard not to fall asleep and felt relaxed. I left the place with my face feeling great and no breakouts the following days! I would definitely find time for another facial at Perception!

I've had facials, pedicures, manicures, and massages here. Every time I've enjoyed my service as it's a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It isn't stressful or loud. It's exactly the vibe you want when heading for a self care day. The products they use are 100% house-made and organic. I've had skin reactions before, but never here. As a matter of fact, other spas have left my face looking red and inflamed after facials - I leave here glowing. Now I can't speak to any of the other massage therapists here, but Tsondu is who I see any time I'm seeking a massage. I truly feel like he is a healer in some way. I leave relaxed and I'm always comfortable throughout the service. I'm love the new location and I can't wait to come back soon!

Aside from the incredible quality of service provided, it is an absolute delight to walk through the front doors. The Mavens at Parlor make you feel like family. Their recent move to 22nd and Main changed the scenery but not the vibe. My son and I both look forward to our visits. They, along with their sweet pups who frequent the salon, have created an inclusive and affirming space while authentically stating that they "are not for everyone.**" Their website statement: "Parlor is a warm, welcoming, come-as-you-are salon. After seeing the amazing cuts and reviews for this salon, as a newcomer to Richmond I was excited…read moreto get a rad cut here. Something went seriously awry for me. Maybe I have lost the ability to communicate effectively. Maybe we entered another dimension of reality and I will wake up soon. This is a hair nightmare. I first had my hair cut from a stylist that was recommended by the receptionist as amazing at texture. I mentioned to her that I was growing my hair out a bit. I ended up with a thick, chunky cut that was, frankly, bad. I called and asked if someone else could fix it. I was slotted in with the owner. She was not happy that my statement that I was having fun getting my edgy, highly texturized short hair just a bit longer was not honored, as my hair was significantly shorter than when I first came in. I stressed that I wanted a soft, super texturized haircut with lot of tendrils and such. The owner has a gorgeous cut, with tons of soft texture, much like what I was looking for. For a reason that I cannot fathom, she cut most of my hair off the back of my head almost to the scalp. She kept going up the back of my head with the comb and scissors and I could not figure out why. Now, looking at it at home, I guess I know why...there are little patches in this very short hair that are sticking straight out, which she was clearly trying to fix. It's like a series of harsh chop marks with a slightly longer patch in the middle. It looks absolutely bizarre and awful. It's also cut super short where I have a natural cowlick, so it legit looks like I have a bald spot back there. I cannot understand why she cut my hair so very, very short, even though we had discussed repeatedly that I was growing it a bit. I am pretty fearless with my hair, and it takes a lot to rattle me. I left the salon shaking, got in my car and had a panic attack, and now looking at the back, am wondering how it will even be possible to fix this. I am guessing someone will have to pretty much shave the back of my head. Everyone in there had the most amazing haircuts. Next level cool. Beautiful salon with the nicest people. I'm absolutely gutted. I want my long twirls and funky tendrils back. It will take a year to get back to where I was. And yes, I will admit that when I woke up this morning and felt my hair and looked in the mirror, I couldn't stop myself from crying. First world problems, I know I know, I don't want to be the woman who cries over her hair, ugh, but what in the actual blank happened here?!
