I spent over thirty years going to a dentist in Hinsdale that I thought was the best dentist ever. I even drove to Hinsdale for my routine checkups and emergency needs. I thought he was that good. However, I have discovered a dental team at Cary Grove Dental that moves the bar even higher! The dental team is truly excellent in all relevant categories. The receptionist and accounts manager are extremely helpful, efficient, and friendly. They are professionals who give each visit a personal touch. The dental hygienists are all extremely proficient in their clinical skills and knowledge. Their work is painless and thorough. They have provided me with excellent clinical recommendations regarding the daily oral care. I am always impressed with the depth of knowledge they display when they explain what they are doing, why they are doing it, and what it does to help me. I have had appointments with three different hygienists since becoming a client and all display the same level of personable, professional care and outstanding clinical performance. This indicates to me that Dr. Pokorny takes great effort in selecting personnel of the highest quality for their dental team. The teams use of high quality and technically advanced dental systems, including instant digital displays of x-rays allows the team to provide the absolute best care. This also is a clear indication to me that Dr. Pokorny has taken the time to remain on the cutting edge of her profession and has made the investment in her office equipment and staff to keep it at the highest level of quality. Dr. Pokorny reflects all that has been observed above. She is very professional and yet provides a very personal "chair side" approach that provides for a relaxing and comfortable experience. Her explanations of the procedures that she uses are clear, easily understood and appreciated. I have seen her in dental emergency situations and she is very responsive and effective in resolving the issue. One of her characteristics that I greatly appreciate is that when discussing your dental care plan of action, she is very forthright about all the options available. She explains each option clearly in terms of the work to be done, the clinical rationale behind that option, the long term effects of the procedure, and the costs. She answers all questions clearly and precisely. Instead of the "you need a bridge" that I got from my previous dentist, when the need arose she indicated "you may need a bridge, however, because one tooth has no dental flaws and would need to be altered to accommodate a bridge, a here are several options that you may want to consider." I went in thinking I would need a costly bridge, but left with an excellent alternative approach which cost me a fraction of the cost of a bridge and has worked flawlessly. Her knowledge and skill combined with true concern for the patient, allows her to provide such excellent service. I still have great respect for my previous dentist. However, in the span of several years, Dr. Pokorny and her entire team has earned and in some ways surpassed that level of respect and appreciation for excellent dental services.
