There is a reason I have been going to Dr. Paul for 30 years, and that is because he does not do unnecessary work. If he says you need something done, you know not to wait around. I have always been afraid of dentists and procedures, but not with Dr. Paul, he makes sure I stay comfortable. That is why I don't mind going to the dentist.

I have known Dr. Janis since at least 1994, when I created her business sign. Even though I've…read moremoved since then, it is worth a trip to Illinois to use the services of Janis Dental when practical. Seldom have I met a person who is as thoughtful, pleasant and accommodating to clients, and services that I received from her office have always been outstanding. I'm old enough to remember the dark days of dentistry, when the idea of pain-free dental work was the exception rather than the rule. Dr. Janis and her staff, however, have taken pain and anxiety reduction to a new level. Instead of simply treating the teeth, they have created a warm and inviting environment, sharing stories or light humor with me and offering options such as customized music selections or a choice of flavors for topical anesthetics. Of even greater significance is the fact that Dr. Janis knows how to listen to the client and demonstrates both her impeccable expertise as well as personal consideration while discussing radiograph results and offering guidance in determining a course of action. In the case of a complex procedure, however, she will provide appropriate referrals rather than attempting a solution best left to specialists. I'm very grateful to have had the good fortune to know this wonderful, compassionate person and for the opportunity of receiving dental services from the best of the best.

We should have all become dentists. Our problems would be a thing of the past. I've always found their office staff to be extremely pleasant and willing to work with you on scheduling. Their hygenist is the BOMB. She's so great and gentle. Dr. Steve is awesome and he's always had a straight-up attitude with me. I had an emergency with my crown and they got me in right away and put me out of my misery. They don't offer payment plans, but they do take Care Credit. I use that for many medical procedures, vet bills, salon procedures, you name it. It takes the credit risk off them, which I can understand from their perspective. Why did I not give this 5 stars? A while back, they had a Dr. Lee, who was supposed to take off a bad filling and put on a crown. He didn't do a great job and left me with a hyper-sensitive tooth (hence, emergency crown visit above). So that whole experience did make me a little gun-shy about whether I needed that in the first place. Dr. Lee has long been gone, and everyone else is great. Their dental assistants have always been really nice and pleasant. We've been patients here since 2009. They are a preferred provider of my dental insurance, which is why we have stayed with them.

In my opinion, he doesn't like for you to question him about work that is to be done. Almost as if he is offended that you are questioning what is going on with your oral health. Also, be wary of him pushing you for lumineers if you have a bonded tooth that is chipped. If you can afford the $1200/tooth upgrade fine, but if you are on a budget then expect to have him be aloof and treat you coldly for the rest of the time you are in the chair. I have been going to this office for three plus years, and I do plan to find a different dentist, because I don't feel like my business is appreciated by the person it should matter most which is the dentist himself. Office is clean, plenty of parking, staff is exceptional, technology is up to date with many of the higher end dentist you would find in downtown Chicago, but Dr. Patel's attitude leaves little to be desired. Perhaps he will learn better chairside manner as he gets older, but for now I don't see anything changing.

Because I give five stars for people who just are good enough. These people here are I've moved here from California in the last six months. I had a broken tooth that broke off where a very old filling was. It was a little sensitive so I thought for sure I was going to be looking at a root canal and a crown. The doctor did a $270 filling the next day. I really couldn't believe it. I'm so grateful that he save me $2000. I probably would never have known if he told me I needed the root canal and crown. So now I want to go back and get 4 Veneers/crowns on my bottom teeth. I already have Veneers/crowns on my top eight. Thank you Dr. McNarney! I'm so happy to a found my new dentist.

I started my Invisalign program in February and ended this September (your treatment plan may vary). I am now maintaining the straightening with simple retainers and couldn't be happier with the experience. Dr. Schmidt and her group of professionals are a powerhouse team. In the beginning, I had a consultation with Dr. Schmidt and she told me upfront what the costs, benefits and duration of the treatment (within months) would be. Her office really helped make the payment plan work with my Flex Spending Account so that the finances were feasible without too much of an impact to the family budget. I signed the contract and began the process. If you like technology, you'll love the Invisalign process. The 3D scanning resulted in a digital model of my teeth that could be projected out over the next several months to show how the teeth would move with each Invisalign tray. I don't think that I would have had as good of an outcome without Dr. Schmidt and her team's experience. She took detailed notes on how she wanted things to look and could adjust things to make it happen. I trusted her aesthetic vision and it was a pleasure to see it incrementally come to life. Here we are at the end of the "active" phase of Invisalign. Her skilled team worked to help my teeth maintain their new alignment with a permanent wire and a pair of Invisalign-like trays to wear at night (again...your treatment plan may vary). I am proud to wear this smile (albeit under a mask for the time being) and enthusiastically recommend the services Dr. Schmidt and her excellent staff provide. Thank you!
