This place was very beautiful online but horrible when I got there later after my arrival. I was looking for a place to sleep for few hours before my company classes early morning, also needed something not too far away from the educational facilities center and this place was everything I wanted. By the time I got there after midnight due to flight delays; omg! I didn't know what to do, should I call uber and book another hotel but time is everything and I decided to stay. The check-in area was horrific, smelling weeds or whatever it cld be. Then I asked them if the rooms were also smelling like the counter but it was okay. Room was outdated with colors sheets and comforters, no lights but was able to leave TV on all night. Surprised at their bathroom because it was really nice with good shower heads blasting waster all over like I was in a jacuzzi tub. This is the only thing that I could check good in . Customer service was also great, easy check in when on my arrival. I don't think I would stay here again. read more

Upon arrival around 12:30PM, I was told I couldn't leave my luggage because they "don't have a storage room." The front desk then offered early check‑in before 3PM for an additional $100. The lobby had a strong smell of smoke, and when I asked for a non‑smoking room due to a typo in my reservation, I was looked at like I was asking for something unreasonable. Later, several locals informed me that this property is known as a motel associated with prostitution. I canceled before check‑in, yet was still charged the full $188 for a room I never entered. Based on my experience, it seems they profit from both the local activity and unsuspecting travelers who don't end up staying. I would strongly recommend verifying reviews and photos before booking. Absolute dump! looks like a place you would rent by the hour. The Long Island Railroad runs right behind this place so you get to listen to that all night. You're met by a front desk clerk who appears to be standing behind bullet-proof glass. When you walk down the hall to your room, it's dark & dingy a reeks of marijuana. There's music blaring from one of the rooms. When you enter you room, it's as dingy as the hall and the bed linens are suspect. NOT a place I'd want to bring a black light to. Since they refuse to give me a refund, I'm stuck here. I'll be sleeping on top of the bed cover and hoping I survive the next two night. read more

This location is close to UBS. Convenient for that purpose a few places to eat around the area but still on best to be out too late at night. THIS IS A SMOKING ESTABLISHMENT. I know online says non smoking but it's SMOKING. They are close to public storage so you may pass it. There's parking there's not 1 trash in the lobby area or by the vending machines that don't work. No matter what room you get the smoke odor is so strong in the hallways, entry of the hotel up the stairs so if your sensitive to the smell this isn't the place for you. The rooms aren't cleaned properly, the AC are outdated and very dusty. The bedding is super thin, the blanket is stained and also thin sand exact thing goes for the pillow they give you a total of 3 and it still won't make up for one. The gray in the room with ice bucket and cups is dirty and stained and in a non smoking room ashtrays are inside, the doors aren't that secure. that includes It still needs work, the vending machines not working properly and whoever at the desk can't help you whether it's during business hours or after hours. He was very difficult to get along with and then proceeded to hang up my call and put subsequent calls on voicemail status. Never stay at Casa Azul. I booked four nights here with my father-in-law when we were in town to help his brother. The first mistake I made was prepaying with Hotels.com. When you prepay you have ZERO recourse if you are unhappy with your stay. The hotel is in a bad neighborhood. We didn't mind too much since we were only going to be at the hotel to sleep, but that should have been a red flag immediately. The rooms were just ok. Whatever they use to clean the halls and rooms is pretty nasty smelling stuff. That night we didn't sleep at all. People were banging on doors, screaming, and laughing loudly all night. I didn't think the hotel had many guests, so this was done by just a handful of people. The hotel staff did nothing about the noise, so it is obvious that the noisemakers were friends or family of theirs. When I complained the next morning, they blew me off. When I asked if I could get my money refunded so I can check out and get a new hotel, they refused. We tried two more nights, but the noise was still bad. In fact, my suspicions that the hotel is used for prostitution was confirmed on our third night. I told them I was checking out Friday morning, one day early. They refused to refund my money, but we had to check out. My father-in-law is elderly and this hotel was horrible for him. Hotels.com looked into a refund for the last night, but apparently, I can only get the refund if the hotel in question agrees to it. I will never be booking from Hotels.com again because of this. They should take care of their customers. They won't even take down the Casa Azul listing even though they know how bad the hotel is. One final note. We booked a room with two beds for two people and were charged for an extra guest each night. I have never heard of a hotel charging extra for guests after the first one. Checked in on Thursday. Room was nice enough. There is no bar and there is no breakfast. Returned back 12:30am and had a great night's sleep. Then Friday rolled in and it was awful. Betw 1am and 5am, room doors constantly opening and slamming shut. People loud in common hall, yelling at each other, slamming common microwave in alcove. I called front desk at 2am, phone had no dial tone. Called again at 3am, rang and no one answered. This craziness went on til 5am. I cannot believe front desk staff did nothing to decrease the noise. At one point a gal was screaming to someone in her room to open door over and over. Got to point where travel buddy 2 rooms down thought I was screaming for his partner for help. I stayed for 2 days. The common areas aren't bad looking. The parking lot can accommodate about a dozen vehicles. I wasn't happy with the service or the room. I asked for a working iron 4 times, which is attached to the ironing board with a cable! I received 3 defective irons, dirty ironing boards, and the response took very long. No microwave in the room. No toilet tissue holder either. Dirty and dusty by the air conditioner. A smell of marijuana throughout the building, including the rooms. They have hourly rentals, so there's a transient element in the hallways. The microwave was in the hallway by the elevator and it wasn't clean. The air conditioner was struggling to work in mild temperatures. There were burn marks on the tray under the ice bucket. No top for the ice bucket. An outdated phone in the room. There was a group of people smoking, drinking, and very loud in the back of the building in the parking lot late in the evening on a Wednesday night. The towel had stains and holes in it. The bathroom was pleasant looking. There were new products in the bathroom to use. The bed was comfortable. The countertops in the bathroom were lovely. The location makes it easy to get to UBS, JFK, or LaGuardia airports. read more

Sorry I can't give less than one star. For starters, no direct walking route to UBS arena so don't book if you're trying to get close to the arena. That being said, Uber was great, no complaints. The entire hostel (yes that's what I'm calling it because it doesn't deserve to be called a hotel) smelled so bad of weed and cigarettes regardless if you have a smoking room or not. The sheets were dirty when we checked in, there was no fitted sheet, and the comforter was an uncomfortable dolphin patterned quilt. The floors were dirty, the remote was taped together. I could go on. Just spend a little more money and stay at a mainstream hotel. We're going home to immediately shower and wash our clothing. read more

Didn't even get to stay!!! We were supposed to check in on February 13th and out on the 15th. We had storm in Massachusetts so I called Expedia to check to see if we could check in on the 14th. A gentleman from Expedia called them and said it was fine and they would leave a message in the computer stating the chang. Got there on the 14th and they put me down as a no show and that they had no rooms available. Glad I got the hotel insurance through Expedia because I would be out almost $400. Will never trust the hotel and will never go back there again. We were able to get room at another hotel, the point is you can't always trust what you are told!!!! read more

Hotel was ok, the front desk staff was very nice. But , the shower head wasn't working. No carpet on the floors, no comforters / duvet on the beds as it's still cold. And the hotel was extremely noisy, the hallway has no carpet so anything or anyone who walks by the rooms kept waking us up. Because the people that stayed there were very loud, music played in 1 of the rooms until 2am I had to contact the front desk to inform them. Noise was too much, I ended up not sleeping and went to my meetings in a mess. Next time I'll book somewhere else. Hotel looks nice in pictures but there need to be changes with the floors as anyone who walks pass by the rooms you can hear everything. read more

Only stopped in her for a little while because I was accompanying someone staying here. Very nice inside, actually decorated very nicely. Also well kept. Couldn't help but notice that the letter B in Blu on their sign outside is backwards. Took me a minute to even realize that it was supposed to be a B. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here. Although it is close to UBS Arena, it is not worth the trouble. The entire hotel smells like cigarette smoke because of their smoking rooms. The bedrooms are grimy and have very little light. You are able to hear other people from inside your room. Parking is very limited and tight. There is nothing about staying here that warrants the bad conditions. I would recommend staying anywhere else. read more
