The service was quite good but the chicken picatta was completely flavorless as if it were missing ingredients..

Maybe my expectations were too high? We typically go to another 'nice-ish' restaurant when in town but thought we'd try here. Our group of 8 put in a small room upstairs which was nice for privacy and ambiance but HOT. It was at least 10 degrees cooler when we left the room. Our server was patient and did well taking orders and getting checks right. My Veal Marsala was room temperature even almost close to cool (as were most other dishes noted by my dinner mates). We had already waited so long for our food I didn't want to complain or send back... I probably should have. It was not very flavorful (I've had at many restaurants so have a good palate to compare), a tad more chewy than tender and the pasta that came with it just plain noodles. The house salad was fine and bread was highlight of meal. We came, we tried but alas we probably won't return. I wish I had a picture of food but didn't want to see rude in front of my dinner party. Came here for dinner with a large group of 10. We waited 1 hour to put in our drink orders, an additional 30 minutes after that to get salad and bread, and finally 2 hours later got our wine. All in all, we sat at the restaurant for over 3 hours and even though we had a reservation at 7:30pm didn't receive our food until at least 9:30pm. By the time I got my eggplant rollatini, it was cold but I was starving so didn't even bother asking to get it reheated :( If you come here, be prepared for slow service. Good wine selection and hearty portions, but hard to find a menu online for this restaurant. read more

This place is a historical favorite located in a historic home in downtown Aiken. The interior is very unique with multiple rooms and dining options where they could also accommodate a large parties. They are definitely more on the fine dining side terrific date plays with several table set for two. During the summer they offer outdoor dining which is set down in the lovely gardens. Their food is authentic Italian cuisine and is delicious. Many menu options available. Spaghetti and meatballs and eggplant Parmesan being some of our favorite I have tried several of the menu options and haven't been disappointed. The Service is always excellent and the server seem to be well informed on the menu along with being able to offer several suggestions. Don't forget about the tiramisu, it's yummy!Reservations recommended and parking is only available on the street which can get busy so you may have to walk a block however afterwards you're in downtown and might be in the mood for a nice stroll. read more

The food here used to be pretty good with reasonable prices. However, the last time that we went, things seem to have taken a turn. I understand that everything is more expensive now, but the prices are outrageous. For instance, to add shrimp to fettuccine Alfredo it is $20?! Just for the add-on. The food was very much not worth the price this visit. The service was also pretty iffy. Our server took her handwritten, chicken scratch notes of the daily specials and just plopped them on the table rather than reading them to us. We probably won't go back, which is sad since this has been an Aiken staple. read more

Over priced and low quality food. We, me and my wife were in town looking at property. This Italian restaurant was suggested. We went to dinner and felt the food was, at best mediocre. Salad dressing was bottle type, croutons were packaged type. I had a meat spaghetti dish and kept spitting out Grizzle. The plates are not heated, so half way through meal, oil coagulates in food. For desert we shared a Tiramisu which was good, but they used Hersey bottle syrup for the chocolate. Just an unpleasant experience overall. read more

Have eaten at Casa Bella on one other occasion and had a fairly good experience but last nights dinner disappointed mostly due to service. our Waiter approached our table in an absolutely filthy apron and this was early in the evening so we had to have been either his first or second seating. One guest had a napkin with a hole in it. Server then proceeded to pour waters for the table spilling the first one all over our guest leg and foot with hardly an apology. He had the worst attitude during the entire service. During visit we had to swat away some type of small black flying bug. Veal piccata's and Veal Marsala was good but the Lasagna was not enjoyed by guest. Cream Brulees were very good. read more

We enjoyed sitting on the beautiful porch in downtown Aiken, and Robbie was our server. We enjoyed many of his suggestions, but found everything we ordered to our liking and beyond. HORRIBLE!!! We waited 1 hour to even get a piece of bread. After that, they told us our appetizers and salads would be out soon, and they did not even bring out them until an hour and a half into the meal. Our waiter came to check on us three times in the whole two hour and a half hours we were here. Do not go here! read more

We were a large group of 8 and had a very good dinner at Casa Bella. We had the appetizers of meatballs, sausage, and calamari, which were all very good. I felt like there was an abundance of marinara served with the meatballs/sausage as there was a bunch left over. Maybe they could've served some bread with it, to mop up the extra sauce, because it was sad to see it go to waste. A few of us had the lobster ravioli and the portion was large and very good. The sea bass was delicious and cooked to perfection. A couple in our group had the tomahawk pork chop and they said it was good as well. Eggplant Parmesan was excellent and the portion was huge. Service was good. Price for 8, with tip figured out to about $115 pp. Great atmosphere in a very charming old house. The only reason that I didn't give it five stars is because I felt that while our dinner was very good, there wasn't any one thing that really was over the top or next level Italian cuisine. We thought it was better than the other Italian restaurant (in an old house) that we had tried a few nights prior. Was on a date and decided last minute to try this place based on yelp. The place is so cool and inviting. Old house with some really cool fixtures in the bathroom. Maria our server was amazing and everyone who came to the table froze water to the manager was on time. It took a little long for the food but, fresh and worth the wait!! Worth the money also. I will be back and it was a great experience. I Love dining spots like this. You must try it. The homemade dessert was awesome. Even walking outside the vines and front was so cool. I will be back. All of the rooms were set up as dining areas. I did feel "something" when there. I would love to know the history of his house. read more

Took my mother here for her birthday - five years ago we'd eaten here for my birthday, and the food was excellent. Last night was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. - The caesar salads were made with finely chopped romaine and some kind of thick creamy dressing that barely had flavor. - The fettuccine alfredo was similarly heavy and bland, and the pasta was over cooked. - I had rolled the dice on the lobster ravioli - it was delicious last time I was there - and ended up sending it back after one bite. The raviolis were thick and flavorless, and the sauce looked and tasted like Campbells creamy tomato soup, for $42. - My father had a clam and pasta dish, and woke up at 3 am sick to his stomach. Even sending back my dish, two pasta dishes plus an inexpensive bottle of red wine set us back $120 including tip. Other detractors: - The tables in the dining room where we were sat were too close together, and the room was loud. - The white table cloth and napkins were so thin you could almost see through them, and had the unpleasant texture of polyester. - The dishes were plated without any thought to presentation. I've worked in restaurants, it takes no time to prep a bowl of chopped parsley to sprinkle on a dish that needs a little visual zing, like fettuccine alfredo. The hostess and servers were great, though. I don't know what happened to Casa Bella in the past 5 years. They used to have a chef who took pride in their dishes; now it tastes like everything comes out of an industrial-sized Sysco can. read more

Just based on the exterior (adorable, inviting brick front with hedges and lights) I've been wanting to eat here and telling my husband that for over 2 years! Well, date night finally happened! We got all dolled up and hit the town for an early dinner reservation. It was no problem to get the reservation for 5:30 same day and the restaurant was not crowded at that time when we arrived. We had the option of sitting at a high table in the bar area and took but in retrospect a table in the other section may have been more romantic as a loud group of who seemed to be regulars came boisterously in and proceeded to continuously shout about grilled cheese sandwiches ‍ That experience aside, the bartender made sure we were temperature comfortable and that our drinks were perfect. Our waitress took excellent care of us; got our orders perfect, asked the right questions, and was always available without being too present. My husband and I shared the antipasto plate and it was excellent. We also had a cream of seafood soup that was soul-warming. Our entree was crab-stuffed shrimp over Parmesan risotto. The ONLY part of the meal I could mark down was the risotto. I much prefer it to be elegantly creamy -- it's one of my favorite foods. This Parmesan Version was slightly crunchy Stil and tasted more like lemon risotto than Parmesan but I was able to enjoy bites of it with the shrimp. For dessert we ordered decaf coffees and shared the chocolate tiramisu - HEAVEN. I would absolutely love to return to Casa Bella! read more

Horrible is an overstatement. Service was similar to no service at all. Manager decided it was our fault they have no staff. 2 and half hours and not even a salad or soup. Large group for business dinner- outdoor seating without bugs!! Shrimp linguine and salad was fantastic. Fast friendly service and I think everyone was happy with their food with the exception of a steak being over cooked when ordered medium rare but it was promptly re-served just right. May need to emphasize what your expectation is for medium rare etc.. Comfortable outdoor dining great service along with wonderful food and drinks. read more

I took my mother to Casa Bella for Mother's Day this year wan was rather diappointed with my experience. Being Mother's Day, I understand that service would be a little slower than normal, but it was downright ridiculous. AFter being seated, we were left alone without any staff interaction for roughly 20 minutes. Typically, I'm very understanding, but that was crazy in my opinion. Once we were greeted, our drinks were ordered and brought to our table. Well, not all of them. We had three people in our party, so one would asusme they realized they didn't bring it out enough for 3 people. Sadly, our server sat the two drinks down she brought and that was the last we saw of her for 10 minutes. The food was average, nothing to right home to Mom about, but at least my mother was happy. To start, I had the stuffed mushrooms which were okay. The Chicken Marsala, however, was delicious, which is why I rated the restaurant 2 stars and not 1. The chicken saved the day, as in most cases at restaurants with me. Overall, I will find a new place to fulfill my future Italian cravings. read more

Outstanding service. Our meals were fabulous with great portions. Homemade meatballs were to die for. My first choice when I visit Aiken.

New to the area and heard about this little gem. The building is circa 1837 so the ambiance is amazing! Greetings are always polite and friendly and seating is prompt. The first visit I had lobster ravioli. The sauce was perfect and they didn't scrimp on it either. The shrimp cocktail is so delicious. Not chewy or overdone and the tails are removed so all you need to do is dip and enjoy. The wine list isn't lengthy but they've got a decent selection. All of the staff are attentive, courteous and helpful. It's our new favorite spot! read more

Looking forward to my husband's birthday dinner, but disappointment is not strong enough, Soup of the, Corned beef and cabage should have been my first heads up. What ever happened to Minestrone soup. Then out comes the warm bread and olive oil. Oilve Oil was the color of veggie oil with Garlic cloves. Which had been baked and had no flavor to the oil. What ever happened to the green olive oil with spices and fresh garlic. Then comes the Veal Piccata which had very little sauce for the pasta, I could hardly taste the wine but enough capers, but missing the flavor of the sauce. I had been told that they came from New York.....no wonder they left. New Yorker's would have never put up with such a bland, no nothing dinner. read more

Such a cute & quaint place! When you walk up to, it has a LOT of charm & character! My niece and I went on Saturday 1/11/20. The owner was more than accommodating...Jim I believe, he was very nice! Sat us directly at the bar because the place was packed. He is Italian and prides himself on his wonderful menu! The bartender was very well versed in his wine knowledge and although was busy, kept up the pace like a champ! The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was like being at home with friends!
