$20 oyster platter? Presentation? This is exactly how this plate was received.
    Kevin D.

We are relatively new to the area but we have dined at this French Market West location on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed the food, service, and the vibe here. So normally. I would rate this restaurant 4 to 4.5. Tonight was not that night in the food category only. We ordered the catfish entree, and a fried oyster entree and fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. When we ordered the oysters, we asked how many typically come with the meal and we were told that it's served by weight and not by how many oysters. I believe it was right at $20 for the oyster platter which is pretty common but you look at the picture and see if the amount and presentation is what you would expect for this price and at this restaurant. I think not. We have ordered the fried catfish multiple times and for good reason. It is normally very delicious and moist and seasoned and fried to golden perfection. Tonight was not that night. Keep in mind the picture is after one of my guests had finished because it was just so tasteless and overcooked she could not consume more. These portions are generous just please correct the preparation and spices. Fried tomatoes were good as always but came without the sauce that usually accompanies this appetizer. This was corrected. Keep it coming French Market West but if a full restaurant (like tonight was) starts to impact your quality, please address it with training or more cooking talent.

This is the favorite of mine the crazy crab roll. It is always made perfectly because they give special attention to all their sushi orders.

Although it was prom night and very busy my friends and I were able to snag a table outside. Service was great and food very tasty. I had the seafood pie it was spicy and popping hot yummy ! My friend had the stuffed trout she said it was delicious.. I think I'll try that next time because it looked so good.

My friend and I decided to come here and try the place because neither of us had been and it looked promising. That's about where it stops. I asked to be seated and the hostess was going to seat me directly between 2 tables full of people twice. No social distancing whatsoever. So I requested to sit outside. Fine. I ordered a glass of wine. Then I proceeded to get the andouille sausage appetizer. When I say disappointed that is an understatement. It had 5 small pieces of sausage and cheese triangles on a Plate... my friend said a 5 year old could do better. She was right. I ordered the honey pecan fried chicken. Presentation was boring. Rice was bland and had no flavor. The chicken was not spicy... oh and I got food poisoning. So nope not ever again.

The service was amazing and worth the visit in itself our waiter (can't remember name) she was servicing us at 5:30pm the day of this review. And honestly a phenomenal job by her she went above and beyond expectations. The food was excellent and prepared exactly how we ordered. Sprite was low on carbonation but that didn't stop her from making it right asap by switching the drink out almost immediately. (Sprite is always hard to keep the right carbonation so not at all a problem with our experience.) We will be coming back!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but nice ambience on the inside. Was a bit of a wait to get seated but the bartender was great! Had 2 drinks while we waited. You DEFINITELY want to get the gumbo to start! It was delicious and was happy it came without pork. The fresh bread is very good so hard to not put on the extra carbs! Crawfish étouffe honestly wasn't it! Never seen an étouffée look like it had gravy on it BUT when I told my waitress she was very nice about swapping me out for the seafood pasta which was AMAZING! Try the gumbo and seafood pasta and you will not be disappointed!

This is the perfect place to bring out of town guests...most recent visit solidified that this is still a great way to go! The menu is varied, with there being no "bad" choices. I personally go for the seafood pasta dish, side salad with Pontchartrain dressing...and if your calorie daily count can stand it...I very highly recommend the peanut butter pie. You will find no better Anywhere!...Anywhere!

This restaurant is more New Orleans style, not French per se. I'd give this place another try.

The ambience has changed, the food quality has changed and serving sizes have definitely decreased while prices have gone up. A favorite go to has been their Crab Chop. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, two orders of Crab Chops and steamed oysters. When the fried green tomatoes arrived they were not the quality we have received every time visit. The breading was a different flavor and texture, the tomatoes were not hot. They seemed to have been prepared earlier that day. The steamed oysters we ordered were delivered to the table raw. We sent them back and when they were delivered again they were prepared correctly but they failed to bring any horseradish or lemons. Our Crab Chops were overcooked, not warm enough and borderline tasteless. Rather than embrace ourselves in front of our guests we let everything slide. Apparently new management has taken over and as a result food quality and ambiance has suffered.

Service was Amazing throughout the entire experience, so Kudos to the establishment for that. The food looked great but tasted okay. There was no flavor. We had to do a lot of adding salt, pepper, & sauces to make it palatable. I was expecting it to taste like I was in The N.O. For meals to be as expensive as French Market Grille has them, you would expect better. The dessert was good. I will definitely not rush back to eat more, but I will one day try them again in hopes of better tasting dishes.

It really does remind me of some of my favorite places around Annapolis, and it will absolutely be someplace we will be going to again before long, Highly recommend the Maryland blue crab dip (home made chips) and bourbon scallops. The risotto with scallops was worth commenting to the owner, who I learned is also from the Annapolis area and has only recently launched this restaurant as a passion project. I both wish him well and will see him again, because that was a uniquely enjoyable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone who's been a bit disappointed with what the Augusta area has on offer.

We sat outside and were pleased with the location. The location surely had its charms. Relaxing, calming. Perfect environment for some much needed respite. The restaurant is situated on a quaint quiet street, across from some beautiful Charlestown style homes. We both chose Ribeye steaks and boy was I surprised. They were huge! We BOTH got our steaks grilled perfect! I was extremely impressed. I jokingly told the waitress they mush have a boxer working in the back, tenderizing the meat because the steaks were so tender I rarely used the knife. The steaks was incredible, just the right amount of searing, juicy, seasoned just right, and so flavorful. And get this, we received our steaks at the same time, right off the grill so our dishes were both hot. It had been such a long time since I had enjoyed a meal this much. My reservation of going again has absolutely nothing to do with this restaurant. Cost of living is getting high and the cost of a great dinner like at the Annapolitan will cost you. But if you want something special, it is worth it.

I love the atmosphere as it's fancy enough for wine and cheese but not stuck up or snobbish as one may expect. The service here is always exceptional and the server is very attentive. For the wine I do enjoy a good white wine here, and I usually get a charcuterie board to go with it. One star off only because it's a little bit expensive and also you have to choose between ordering two cheeses and two meats or three and you can't order just one meat and one cheese.
