Went here after a truly bad experience down the road at the Brewery. Seated quickly upstairs but was not told by the host or waitress there was a particular large party downstairs which delayed our ability to eat for over an hour. We also ordered but were not told that the dish we ordered was sold out until we had been waiting for an hour... Foods not bad, but damn... customer service classes are needed... read more

We went twice in the same week. The first time was perfect- great food great service, prompt and well done. The second visit, we had reservations but had to walk around the restaurant to find someone to seat us. The wait staff must have stayed home because there were very few servers and the busboys were all little kids. Service was extremely limited and slow. The food was ok but it came out in a strange order and not timely. I don't know what was going on but they really needed a supervisor on the floor. We were very disappointed. read more

This place first of all takes longer to serve you than it takes to walk to the top of mount Everest. I waited for over an hour for the food to be terrible. Jonesin' Green Chili Chicken Enchiladas? You'll hit the spot at this joint. Ambience is, and has always been lacking in the ratty little bar area. Small and dark, with a low ceiling and an incredibly loud cooler fan makes customers feel as if they're in some bomb shelter listening to enemy aircraft overhead. Overall, I would not recommended nor would I go back! The food was not very good. The service was okay, but not the best. They have a serve your own chips and salsa, which is so strange for a mexican restaurant. So anytime you run out, you have to go get your own. We got the skillet queso, which was probably the best thing we ate. I got the red chile enchiladas which I was only able to take one bite of. My boyfriend got the steak and chicken fajitas - they were edible, but not the best. The restaurant itself on the inside had a strange smell and was not very nice. read more

Very disappointed. Used to be my go-to in Ruidoso. Friday night, we ordered wine and a Paloma first thing when we sat down, and the drinks weren't served until we were midway through our meal. My Paloma was undrinkable, sent it back for a ranch water which arrived at the end of the meal. Amy ordered chile rellenos with ground beef and red chile sauce. She received chile rellenos with green chiles and no meat. Our service was incredibly slow in spite of the restaurant not having many customers. I won't be eating here again. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years... It's always pretty good, but it can also be hit or miss. If you want to make sure that you always have some thing that is pretty tasty, start your meal with the green chili appetizer.They are amazing! Also, the chips and salsa that they bring out is wonderful! As for entrées, you can't go wrong with the Chile rellenos or enchiladas. I will say though... The tacos were a total let down . I eat tacos everywhere, and I finally decided that I would branch outside of my norm and try some soft, corn tortilla tacos... Because really, these are my absolute favorite at true Mexican restaurants... The sad part... The supposed "soft, corn tortillas" were obviously put on the flat top and fried with some oil... Very busy place! Waited for a little bit to get a table. Waitress Joanna was very nice. She brought water and chips with salsa to the table and took our order. Salsa tasted like Pace out of the bottle. Food came out in decent amount of time. I ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas. All I can say is it wasn't hatch green chili. Which saddens me. Came to Casa Blanca for lunch and we were lucky enough that there was no wait. Eating in Ruidoso during peak holidays is challenging so we were happy to be seated right away. Our server was attentive and quick. We did not order drinks but did get waters which were always topped off. I ordered the cheese enchiladas on blue corn and mild red sauce which were good. The rice and beans did not seem fresh but did not taste bad. My husband got the green Chile chicken burrito but didn't care for the chicken much as it seemed to lack seasoning. If you haven't tried Casa Blanca because of a bad experience in the past, I recommend giving it another try! The green chile chicken enchiladas are amazing, just the right amount of spice. We had high hopes for this restaurant due to reviews and word of mouth from people who have eaten here. Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the food. We ordered queso, geeen chile enchiladas and chicken fajitas w iced teas. The chips and salsa are very good, the queso is basic, tasted good but we've had better. The enchiladas were pretty good, again we've had better, but they were smothered in a tasty sauce and cheese and the chicken was well cooked and seasoned, best dish we had here. Minus the beans and rice bc those were not flavorful at all. The chicken fajitas w peppers & onions were very bland and not grilled at all. It was obviously prechopped up meat and vegetables that were maybe thrown in the oven until cooked then tossed onto the hot skillet for the sizzling fajita effect. The chicken was not seasoned at all, and the peppers & onions were cooked just a bit & also without any seasonings. We ordered the corn tortillas bc the flour tortillas on another table didn't look good, the corn tortillas were stiff and quite crunchy. When we asked for our ticket we got a box for the enchiladas but left the fajitas and beans & rice. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very lovely, everything is cabin-comfy. The staff are very friendly, we were greeted quickly and taken to a table and our waitress was attentive and good at communicating the updates to our order. We have been here a few times over the years and enjoyed it. This time the whole thing was a disaster. We decided to split the chicken quesadillas and the menu specifically stated rice and beans. 1. There is a charge for additional chips and salsa, which I am fine with. However, we ordered guacamole and it came with no additional chips. This is very chintzy. 2. Menu plainly stated that the quesadilla (entre) came with rice and beans. When delivered there was no rice and beans. Waitress stated that the menu was incorrect and had received other complaints and had informed her manager. We were not very hungry and thought the quesadilla with rice and beans would be enough to split. Waitress said she would get us the rice and beans. 3. How long does it take to deliver rice and beans? We were near finished with the quesadilla and still no rice and beans. I went to see what was going on. Talked with a guy who identified himself as the General Manager. He said the kitchen made a mistake...so, did the kitchen make a mistake or is the menu wrong. The GM was not hospitable AT ALL. He said he could take off "a couple of bucks". Well, he would take off a couple of bucks only if we did not get the rice and beans. It was comical. I told him to keep the R&B and take of the couple of bucks and that the whole meal should be comped. 4. Wife tells waitress that our meal was totally disrupted and a $2.00 discount was an insult. Waitress then said well you did eat the Q, but would talk with the GM about more of a discount. We are not on a budget and not looking to get something for nothing. It was a matter of principle. 5. Waitress comes back and GM will not budge from the "couple of bucks". Would a little more discount be that bad to please a customer? In closing, the Q was only OK. The guacamole was good. The frozen margaritas were watered down. The building's exterior is very shabby. The GM does not know or care how to please a customer. Very disappointing. So....we will never go back to that place. As I am finishing this up, I still cannot believe the attitude of the GM. read more

About 10 years ago this place was fantastic! We actually looked forward to eating here all the time when we came from Texas. We haven't been here since prior to COVID & the food was absolutely NASTY! The posole, steak tacos and skillet queso were bomb. Definitely recommend! We also had a vodka redbull, strawberry margarita and cazuela margarita! Plenty strong! Most of our group went for the chicken green chili enchiladas and they raved. I chose salmon, which was not a great choice considering where we live. It was dry and without flavor. I should have known better. The margaritas were excellent with just the right kick, and the fried green chili strips were a great prelude to the meal. Service was speedy and efficient. All I can say is WOW! We walked in on a whim last night and were so not disappointed!! We got a whole variety of alcoholic drinks (tequila shots with home made sangrita, Texas tea, vampira and a couple of others), the fried green chilis (probably the best I have ever tried -and I've tried a LOT of local places-), chips and salsa were perfectly seasoned, casa meal grande was to die for, asadero quesadilla, chimichangas and the stuffed sopa. We would recommend every single thing on this menu and will definitely be back at least once every trip up here! Also special shout out to our server, I don't remember his name but he has only been serving for about 3 weeks I think. He was an absolute gem, super friendly and attentive. Was told by locals not to eat here but my love to try new things and especially Mexican food got the best of me. We were seated quickly which was awesome as we had a big party. The place had a cool look to it and it was clean. Everyone was friendly until our main waitress got involved. She seemed to be stressed or upset and it even seems that she was throwing our drinks, straws, and even plates at us. When we ordered she seemed to be upset that we didn't know who the enchilada system worked, to the point that she slammed her finger on my wife's menu multiple times as she explained to us. So service was already a negative for me and while it was upsetting I was still positive on the food. Chips were great, i am a big fan of the salt and seasoning mix. We also ordered Queso along with the chips, it was ok. I won't hold that against them since in my experience it is hard to get a good Queso outside of Texas. We waited for an hour to get the main course and once we got the food the disappointment set in. I ordered the Chicken Fajita plate and it was bland. No flavor with the chicken except some were burned. Chicken was sparse with it mostly filled up veggies. The beans were bland as well, tasted straight from the can. My wife's Enchiladas verdes weren't any better. No flavor what so ever. Overall terrible experience. Id definitely recommend to pass especially if you are a fan of Mexican/ Tex Mex Food, you will be highly disappointed. Service was ok-poor, food was just poor. read more

Food was good, not great. Remember, Ruidoso is loaded with Texan tourists. Some of them likely stay and get work there. I don't know, but I've found most of the Ruidoso "Mexican" food, is Tex-Mex. This was a mix of Tex-Mex and New Mex. The chile relleno, was ok, but not really breaded very well. The enchiladas were ok. The green enchilada sauce was a bit weird. Not bad though,.. it just tasted like mushroom sauce. The red sauce was a bit on the creamy side, which isn't bad, but not my favorite. The rice was a little overdone, or old (it was crispy), the beans were average. The salsa was pretty good, the chips were fresh made. Our server, Rich, was excellent! We wanted for nothing. Very attentive, friendly, and pleasant. Helped turn our day, which started out sour at the Ren Faire, into a much more pleasant experience.
