Took 7 of us around 5 Friday evening and it was packed. Only took 15 minutes to get a table, not bad! We ordered everything from ribeye to soup or salad. To a person we were thrilled with our meals. Big portions and big flavors. The chicken fried chicken was plate size with a side of green chile battered and deep fried, like a chile relleno sans cheese. Delicious! Our server kept up with the calamity that was our table and I couldn't believe she did it with such grace. Great job. I added a salad bar trip to the CfriedC and it included dessert. Many options on the salad bar and everything was fresh and stocked full. Everyone enjoyed their meal and a couple left with to go boxes. One thing that I would change was the volume of the live music. Good song choices and singing but it was so loud we could not comfortably talk to each other during the meal. I have been a tried and true fan of the cattle baron for years. I tried k-bobs on a recommendation, I am not disappointed. I was going to miss the CB salad bar. But lo and behold, k-bobs has a salad wagon. It is every bit what you want and a few extras, roasted green chilies and a great green chile corn chowder. I opted for the rellenos with steak strips, they were not traditional rellenos but still great the meat was satisfying and the chile spicey. They were on rice pilaf, it worked and thier beans are flavorful and satisfying. They have home made rolls i think are better than rodehouse!! It comes with fusilli pasta, veal, squash, and tomato basil sauce, but it was all around amazing. Service is good, but if you sit in the far end of the building, good luck trying to flag down your waiter. But it doesn't happen a lot thankfully. Most of the time the restaurant is quiet, it really depends on what time you arrive. They have a salad bar with tons of options, and some soups and puddings. Had the grilled catfish. Had not had catfish in a long time. Returned the next day with friends.. did not disappoint

First of all, our waitress was THE BOMB and was on top of her service! The salad bar was nicely stocked and clean, except for the ham, which is funny. My husband and I order the Prime Rib plate. He ordered okra and I ordered mashed potatoes and brown gravy, our son order the shrimp and scallops plate. Turns out they were out of prime rib, which is a pet peeve of mine because a STEAK PLACE shouldn't run out of prime rib. So we ordered the Merchant, medium rare. My plate came out looking like it was smeared with dried on mashed potatoes, and obviously NOT medium rare. I was done at this point and just ate the salad bar. They did not charge us for my plate or the salad bar, and like I said, our waitress was The Bomb, but I will probably not ever come back. The scallops were so tough I could not swallow them after chewing a long time I had to spit it out. The shrimp was slightly overdone but was chewable. So, it's been a minute since I've had a salad buffet bar! I was super excited about this. And you should be too!!!! The salad bar is where it's at. I was here with a group of 15 people. To say we ordered about one of everything on the menu would be almost accurate, I think there were some sandwiches we did not get. Each person was delighted with their meal. The service was a weeee slow, but, um, it was a party of 15! I recognize that can be a task for almost any kitchen. AND no one had any complaints about what they ordered... so.. so and pretty darn spot on. I'll take that! I ordered the salad bar, and let me tell you, that is a meal in itself.
