The menu is pretty expansive so there's something for everyone and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and pleasant to sit in. I had the eggs benedict, the eggs were poached very well it can be hard to get it right but they did. The hollandaise was pretty lemon forward which I didn't hate but they could cut back on the lemon a bit and the potatoes were a little overcooked but flavorful. Really enjoyed Casa Canela! The restaurant is very spacious, clean, and they even have a hall available for birthday parties, baby showers, and other celebrations. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have tried coming here for years but it's so hit or miss. Either the food is meh or the customer service is horrendous. The food is usually decent & I live close by which is why I tried giving Casa Canela one last chance today. I have stopped trying to eat inside because of the terrible customer service which is why I phone in my order. Today I called & was met by some hold music. Some one picks up the phone, doesn't even speak & automatically hang up. I call again and a woman answers the phone & it just sounds like she's not all there. As I'm placing my order, mid sentence she places me on hold! Then, hangs up!! I have given this place too many chances. I will no longer return & tell others not to waste their time, money, or energy trying this place. Find a different place with people who want to keep their job & the place running. I'm not paying $20 a meal to be treated like an annoyance and then be expected to tip. read more

Pretty empty on a Monday morning. All servers were friendly. Food was pretty good, no complaints here. The kids devoured the pancakes and crêpes. Well, I gladly ate that big plate of chiliquiles and potatoes. I had them recommended which sauce, which was a great choice. The poblano sauce was creamy and delicious. A nice little hidden spot in Santa Clarita. Went in on a Friday night for dinner. I am glad that we did. There were only a few people in the place which is sometimes room for pause. But in this night, it just means that it was easier to get service. The bean dip and salsa with the chips to start was just fine. I ordered the chicken burrito wet with a red and green salsa. The green salsa had great flavor while there's was a little boring. I started with the Canela salad and it was very good with peaches and walnuts. I ordered the small salad and it was huge. The burrito was huge. My friend got the carne asada plate and guess what, it was huge. You will not leave here hungry. I tried the guava margarita. It was way too sweet for me. The chilaquiles were decent, but the red sauce was very mild and leaned more toward a tomato flavor than a traditional spicy chile sauce. They seem like a good choice for someone who does not enjoy much heat, but they were not quite my cup of tea. The carne asada was seasoned well, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the green salsa on the side was good. I just wish the overall dish had a little more kick. 7.5/10. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the flan. The texture seemed off and reminded me more of cheesecake than traditional flan. It also did not have the flavor I was expecting. 4/10. So I put corn. Order was delivered. No potatoes. Receipt says only 2 sides. Called and the lady on the phone stated that the tortilla was the second side. I explained that it does not let you unmark the tortilla on their website. She said well on the menu at the restaurant tortillas are extra. Which I then explained I ordered online and it does not state that it is extra and does not give you an option to opt out of tortilla. She just kept arguing that at the restaurant it's extra.
