Most recently was last night and that was my last straw. The music was incredibly and unnecessarily loud which they knew because they told us they'd turn it down before we got the chance to ask. Next, there was one waitress on the floor, clearly overwhelmed. Told us she would be back with water but came back almost 20 mins later. We ordered our wine when she came back because who knows how long it would take to receive it. Another 20 mins, maybe more. We watched her seat several groups and I literally had to scream across the room to get her attention and to remind her of the bottle we ordered, which she had the nerve to appear annoyed about. We asked her if we could move from our tables to a nearby couch which she said yes. Before we had a the chance to finish the bottle the GM comes over and tells us to move our seats and that he would take care of us (NEVER DID NOR DID HE CHECK IN). This is the same GM who asked me to give the place another try after the last issues we encountered where they screwed up our checks due their own carelessness. I should've raised more of an issue and questioned him more. But nevertheless we move to these two musty smelling seats. At that point we left and decided that would be the absolute last time. Find out about the rooms before deciding which one you want. The Flamenco Room is on the main floor and is spacious and pleasant. The wine room is in the basement with steps. The paella rice was more of a risotto, but good nevertheless. The smoke detector was doing that annoying-ass low battery chirp the entire time. Not fun! Clean and efficient staff. Good drinks!

If you're a party of six skinny people, you'll do just fine in the chairs. If you're fat Americans like us, it's going to be a tight squeeze. They do a really smart thing. The window seats are pushed a bit away from the windows, so that when the waiter comes to take your order, they don't block the middle aisle where people are trying to walk or carry stuff to tables. Brilliant idea, and one which I wish more would do. The chairs are those mid century modern rattan backed chrome bottomed office chair looking guys. They're comfortable enough, even for us fats, but the rattan was starting to wear out. Hopefully, they'll see to getting them serviced, because it makes the place look a bit ragged. The tables were a lovely size, with plenty of space for our drinks, our food, and the beautiful bespoke charger plates they had on the table with Sihana branding on it. They kept the TVs and other built in furniture from the old Kinjo that used to be here. When we went, the stuff on the TVs was pretty generic. This is fine. Not a lot of places know what to do with those TVs. Back when the location used to be KInjo, they played either K-dramas, Anime, or other such themed shows on there with subtitles, so that it keeps the place on theme. This is NOT an allergy friendly place. If you're vegan, you're going to get either the cocktails, or a dry salad. Also, there's cocktails that have honey, so watch out for that as well. The falafel sandwich, which should be vegan anywhere else you get it, has egg in it. Not ON it, but IN it. The fries are all cooked in shared oil. How shared is the oil? One of our table mates got a mild allergic reaction (she has a shellfish allergy), and had to grab a Benadryl when she got home. It wasn't bad enough for her eyes to close up and have to go to the hospital, but her face was getting flushed, and she started getting really itchy. I'm sure the food was fine. I've been with this group dining out several times. If they're seriously enjoying themselves, they'll usually be raving about what's on their plate, and let the waiter know how good it all was. That didn't happen here. Everyone LOVED the appetisers. That cheesy bread situation was a huge hit. The cocktails are strong, and beautifully made. Well balanced with the right blend of sweetness, tartness, and slight burn of alcohol. Absolutely no complaints there. When the bill came, there's a credit card processing fee. I'd say the place is good. Here's why they're getting full marks: The waiter let us know IMMEDIATELY that there will be nothing for me to eat. He didn't have to go to the kitchen to ask what was safe. He knew immediately that there's nothing at all on the menu that's safe for me. That level of knowledge tells me that you've got a waiter who takes pride in knowing his job, and does it to the best of his ability. You've got an absolute gem of a wait staff in general. I wasn't bothered, because I live very close by and can eat at home. Just know that I'll never set foot in there again. I'm not sure that anyone else would be too eager to go back either. I've been to steak houses that had more option.

We had the cod, red snapper and halibut. Then we split a chicken Piaya - the house specialty. Having had piaya in the past it seems to be overwhelming rice but this was not. Great balance of ingredients sauce flavor and rice. We tried a couple of the sauces on the side for the fish and while excellent- they were not necessary as the fish was excellent on its own. We also enjoyed a flan for dessert and cafe and cappuccino. Considering the amount of food we had and leftovers I thought the price was quite reasonable. All servers and matre di were dressed in formal black and white and the room was a formal dining area. Truly enjoyable. We'll be back!

Completely hidden Tapas bar build into a house in the middle of a seemingly residential area near Newark airport (EWR). This place is small and low key alright, but don't let their quaint appearance throw you, it is an outstanding restaurant. I had a few glasses of their hard cider as well, green and red apple. Very crisp and refreshing. They also had a pear cider on the menu but it was out of stock that day. Bummer. The 5 Tapas I tried: Octopus - My 2nd favorite. Grilled octopus that isnt overly chewy. Flavorful and not bland as tends to happen with octopus dishes sometimes. Stuffed Avocado - Weakest of the five. An avocado stuffed with seafood. The avocado itself didnt add much to the flavor though. Makes for a cool presentation and the seafood itself was good. Lobster Ravioli - Lobster and accompanying sauce was delicious. Pasta was firm but not quite al dente. Great texture. Stuffed Red Pepper - Similar to the avocado except the pepper actually significantly affects the flavor profile, but also doesn't over power it. Excellent. Serrano Ham Croquettes - My No. 1 favorite. Melt in your mouth croquettes served piping hot in a white sauce. This is just heaven. I will definately be coming here again. read more

Stopped in here the other night, normally I like to come here with a bunch of friends, have a huge dinner and relax and enjoy the awesome atmosphere, but I was too tempted to not drop in for a quick delicious meal with probably my favorite Tapãs the camarones ajillo Perfection. My appetite opened up as soon as the delicious garlic shrimp hit the table so I also ordered the salmon rollitos and aguacate (interesting story on how the Aztecs used to revere this magical fruit, and now I worship at the altar of this fruit) stuffed with more shrimp. (It May be a nut or a seed tbh I'm not sure, I watched something on TLC about it. Anyways it was delicious Mmm The best part of the dinner was sitting in the ambience and eating the complimentary bread with the tapãs. The BREAD was CLAP ON POINT CLAP I used the bread to spread more of the avocado spread mmm, the best part was when I used the rich, hearty bread to soak of more of that delicious camarones sauce Mm the sauce was still warm and full of flavor. I first met this place through my husband, then boyfriend 5 years ago. That's our only stop to go to whenever we go out to eat. We've spent several holidays here and whenever someone from back home come for a visit we take them there. There is simply no dish we say we don't enjoy. Wherever there is a bad review (which is the minority), I am sure it was just not your lucky day or maybe is just not the right flavor for you because the food have been delightful as long I can remember, never had a issue (maybe once when they changed the nuts on the salad cuz it had finish aaaaa, one time thing :D) taking for someone who goes there A LOT. The food is simply delish and the staff is always nice!! And of course we love the manager! Henrique is very caring about taking care of customers. We always feel like going to a friend's place. My son is growing up coming here, and this is his favorite spot! It is definitely husband's and mine spot. Prices are decent. Was flying out of Newark, NJ and decided to stay close to the airport for a morning flight. Casa d' Paco has amazing tapas. We got there at 7:45 on a Saturday night and waited about thirty minutes to been seated. It was absolutely worth it. Place has great atmosphere feels very European and owner is very nice guy. They serve authentic Spanish Tapas and I had the garlic shrimp, potatoes with hot sauce, and a stuffed avocado. All of which were culinary delights. Tapas is really good, very authentic and no frills. Had patatas bravas, octopus, chorizo, croquettes and cheeses. We ordered a few tapas including the octopus with paprika, ham croquettes, and squid with hot peppers. All of them were delicious. We then tried the seafood paella, which was also excellent. We came in to try the food we've been hearing about. Unlucky that the kitchen was closed when we got there so changed plan to get some drinks instead even tough they offered us desserts we were real hungry. Though it would be a good place to stay in all night ..nope it looks nice inside the style is trendy but the scene was not out style. Real low energy inside and still real real loud we could barely hear each other speaking which is not wat you want in a Friday Saturday going out mood. We had a drink and than left to the bars around the party section of ironbound. Could not figure out how it was so loud and still dull at the same time. Hear the food is good but did not have a change to try. Will update next time we go. This neighborhood spot is pretty cool with a chill, upscale-casual vibe--perfect for a night out with friends. We rolled in with a small group and got seated right away, which was awesome. Parking's a bit of a hassle, though; expect to circle around a bit to find a spot. The tapas were on point, cooked just right, but they're a little pricey for the portion size. The sangria was tasty but felt a tad watered down, like it needed more punch. The crabcakes were decent, but too much batter took away from the crab flavor. A great dining experience. Our party consisted of 5 people. Each of us ordered a different entree and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Huge selection of food and everything was well-cooked. The menu was excellent and great quality dishes. The Garlic Shrimp and Grilled Octopus were so delicious and has good sauce. The Costilla De Vac was good and unique taste. The bff and I were coming back from dinner and looked for a nice bar in the area. Yelp 5 stars can be deceiving :| for one thing it was so hard to find really off the beaten path and we thought we were lost. I've been coming here for years and previously would have given this place 5*. However the restaurant has changed in the last year - it just doesn't have the same personal touch it once did. I used to love to sit at the bar and speak to the bartenders, owner and mother of the owner that made the desserts. Food has lost some attention to detail as well. I've been to Casa De Paco plenty of times and I've never had a complaint. Until 1/3/21. I decided to bring my mom here because the food is amazing and the ambience is usually super chill. We get here and theres a DJ! Sure we could have left and went somewhere else but my mother lives in PA and drove all the way out here specifically so i can bring her to Casa. It was basically a lounge couldnt hear each other speak. Horrible read more

The sides of fresh vegetables, yellow rice, and the homemade potato chips complemented the meal beautifully. Dessert was the perfect ending to a fantastic evening. The flan was simply incredible--smooth, rich, and full of flavor. The chocolate cake was absolutely decadent and worth every bite. Spanish Tavern offers plenty of convenient parking and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes it ideal for a date night, family dinner, or special occasion. What impressed me most is that after four decades, this restaurant continues to deliver outstanding food, exceptional service, and a memorable dining experience. Some places come and go. Menu had a good selection of dishes and we shared a few for the entire meal. Taste was fine, solid and decently priced. I enjoyed the paella. Overall, not a bad experience, just felt a little eerie due to the lack of patrons. We enjoyed it nonetheless and wish Spanish Tavern more success!

I had the Garlic Chicken Cutlet entree ($34), a very generous serving of four pieces of tender, boneless chicken breast smothered in a bright, savory lemon garlic sauce, served alongside "Spanish fries" (which are actually delicious house-made potato chips) and fresh collard greens. It was incredibly tasty and very filling, with enough leftovers for lunch the next day! My dining companion went with the Garlic Shrimp entree ($35), paired with the "Spanish fries" and steamed veggies. She absolutely loved it.. noting that the shrimp were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. To wash it all down, we each had a glass of the house special red sangria. It was fantastic -- bright, fruity, and clearly made with fresh ingredients rather than a sugary mix. Yum! PRO TIP #1: Bring cash. Chateau of Spain has added a 4% surcharge for credit card payments. PRO TIP #2: Check your bill. A 15% gratuity is automatically included on all checks. Our server was great and explicitly pointed this out to avoid any confusion, but keep it in mind when calculating an extra tip.
