Came here for a baby shower this past weekend and was blown away by the food. Sooo good!! The decor was modern, the food was flavorful and well seasoned! This restaurant is a great experience. Our waiter was so attentive even with a large group. The food and drink are also equally as spectacular as the service. For appetizers, we had the salad, dumplings, and a creamy shrimp dish. All of these were spectacular and a 10/10. The dishes all had such fresh ingredients and the sauce on the dumplings was so thick and tasty. For entree, I had the braised short rib with bacon risotto this was just as good as the appetizers. The short rib melted in my mouth and the sauce was spectacular. In addition, the risotto tasted great and paired amazing with the short rib. For dessert, I tried the coconut and the cheesecake. Both of these were delicious and the fruit was super fresh. Lastly, I had the pink lemonade drink which had great presentation and tasted amazing! Came here on a rainy Saturday night. I had reservations for 8:45pm. Be aware that parking is very hard to find here, but we managed to find parking across from the restaurant. We were greeted and immediately seated. We first sat at a 2 top table, but then was switched to a 4 top for more comfortability. I appreciated that. Our server was very nice and friendly, so was the owner or manager. They made sure hospitality was on point. I ordered a mocktail, the lady bird, and my partner ordered a mango tango. We were also served a variety of bread with different toppings which was a nice touch. I ordered the salmon and my partner ordered the steak and a dragon roll. The roll came out about 5 mim after ordering, and the food came about 15 mim after that. Everything looked good and tasted good. We also ordered the dolce de leche creme brûlée. It was amazing. We were then offered free passion fruit shots, which was very yummy and appreciated. I give the food a 4/5 and the service a 5/5. A lovely restaurant! We stopped in early on a Saturday night and there wasn't a crowd yet. Everyone was extremely friendly! We sat at a high table across from the bar. We went on a Friday afternoon and there were only 3 tables. The food was salty and overcooked. The mock tails we got were overloaded with sugar. Q'tal is a solid restaurant in Kearny to visit. Starting with the setting, they have a backyard patio which is a great place to hang out in during the nice summer months. It's also spacious enough so you're not close to other tables. The service is fantastic. Everyone who works there is very attentive as soon as you walk in the front door and they were kind enough to get their own candle for a dessert for my friends birthday. For entrees we ordered the Avocado toast, Steak and Eggs, and Chicken & Waffles. For desserts we ordered the Creme Brulee, Molton lava cake, and Cheesecake. It was a bad experience, I went for a recommendation and to start the menu they gave us had only 3 plates of food as an option, I ordered medallion with risotto, an hour and a half later the food arrived with the term of the meat different from the one I ordered, finally the handling they gave to my claim was terrible and as I did not accept the waitress a dessert she offered me for the inconvenience, she sent me the bill with another person without asking for it, without knowing that we were celebrating and we wanted to order something else to drink. They had a table inside that was already prepared for us. I'm not sure why they said only the patio was available because there were only about 3 other tables being occupied at that time. People flaked last minute so we ended up being a party of 6. The waitress was nice but hovered over us one too many times trying to clear the table or would rotate a plate, etc. Yes, I love when they are on top of things and clear tables but the hovering was a bit much and made us feel rushed. Maybe we were eating too slow for her? Idk lol We ordered the boneless chicken for appetizer and it was tasty! Idk what the sauce was but it was good! For entree, I was extremely disappointed to see that the ribs were no longer on the menu. I ordered cheese ravioli. I've never not liked cheese ravioli but I wouldn't order it here again and I don't recommend. The sauce was flavorful but it had the smallest amount of cheese which is the best part! I didn't enjoy it much I really would've liked more cheese. I should've taken a picture of how thin the filling was. When it was time for the check, we asked for the food and alcohol to be put on separate checks (only 2 of the 6 had drinks). The waitress took a long time to bring our check because she was chatting with another worker. When she returned to the table, she had forgotten to split it and had to return. Overall, the waitress was friendly despite the few mishaps I mentioned earlier. They need to bring the ribs back!! Their menu is fairly limited and there was maybe only 1 other thing I would've considered trying. I still recommend for others to check it out. I'm just a picky eater which is why there isn't too much on the menu I would try. Their drinks are good too. Found this location on Yelp, didn't do too much too much research and just went on a whim. Turned out to be a great gem. Decided to go for drinks after dinner and this was a great location. Street parking is available, the main attraction is the bar area that is nicely lit up. We went to the back patio which was very nice for a perfect summer evening. He took our orders for drinks and food pretty quickly. As a side note: kudos to the restaurant for using a small "Q" at each table to share its menu with customers. When there were a total of 5 tables with 2 to 4 guests and only 2 individuals at the bar, our waitress ( one of two waitresses) seemed to forget we were there. We started with bread and boy this has got to be the best bread basket. It was fresh and soft and hot. It was so tasty. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria and it was very good. For our appetizers we got impossible sliders and it was very tasty. I thought it was meat at first but it was seasoned so well I couldn't tell it was vegan.
