My son refuses to eat airline food. So we opted to grab a quick bite before our layover flight to Lisbon. The menu here caught our eye. My son had the chicken pasta and I had the tuna sandwich. Really love how the tuna came with tomato and lettuce. Both were excellent and the price was surprisingly not outrageous. Service was A+. While waiting for a table, the manager/owner and a waiter must have reassured us like 5x that we will be seated soon. They were attentive, always came by with a smile and made sure to fill our water glasses. A restaurant with a 4 star rating at Terminal B at Newark Airport. That speaks volume. (File under 'Strange-But-True' but we first thought it was silly to hit an 'imitation' Italian place before hopping on a plane to go to Italy, but Vino Volo ended up being a much better experience than when we got a meal at an 'actual' Italian place inside the 'Aeroporto Leonardo da Vinci' in Rome, on the way back to the states.) "Classy" (considering we're in Newark, at an airport) Quick, friendly service. Small concise menu. Tasty, if a bit skimpy (food portion and wine pours), for the cost. (And because it was roughly $30 per person and we left not-that-full... I just can't give this more than 3-stars.) And I appreciated that with my sandwich's side of chips were a few pieces of popcorn - it felt like when you 'score' a few stray onion rings when you'd ordered a side of French fries. $13.00 seems like pretty standard pricing for a cheese plate (especially at an airport)! And if you are ordering a cheese plate and spending 13.00 it would probably be pretty fair to expect that said cheese plate would come with the basics.. like you know, cheese. Unfortunately that didn't happen at Vino Volo. And I know I know - it's an airport. Airport restaurant food typically is not the best. But no cheese on a cheese plate is just downright upsetting. The plate came with three very small slivers of cheese, a smear of jelly and a handful of cranberries and almonds. When the waiter saw that 4 of us were ordering a cheese plate I really think he should have warned us about the lack of cheese on the plate. In fact, even if one person was ordering this they should still be warned. It's just not right! As expected, the rest of the meal was also disappointing. The chicken sandwich came with a teeny piece of chicken and was mostly just bread. The mac and cheese portion was also incredibly small. And, it took them 30 minutes to bring out a salad which was literally just a few greens on a plate topped with avocados and cranberries. You are much better off eating snacks from Hudson News for dinner. Unfortunately our visit here was a waste of time / money / calories. read more

One of the few options in Terminal B. It was a relaxed atmosphere and not crowded, unlike the other restaurant in Terminal B that had a 20 minute wait. The prices were reasonable. I tried a wine flight and liked the wine so much I bought a bottle of wine to take on my trip that was only $18. My brie and proscuitto sandwich was delicious. Lots of different wine flights are offered, with good quality wines in them at a reasonable price. Good selection of food - I had a few items over a few last visits - lamb meatballs were very tasty, beets and avocado salad was also very good - again, the food is generally good. Would give it zero stars if the app would allow for it. Got a table, set there for 30 minutes while clueless waiters (who really don't care much for the clients) literally avoided taking our order. One of the waiters was serving other tables of people who showed up after us. We waited patiently and tried to flag the water to help us - he seems to see us, but never bothered to come to get our order. We finally just left.... Terminal B is stupid low on places to drink and eat. This is one of two places in the gate 60-68 wing that will serve you a beer. To be fair, a craft bottle is only $8, very fair for an airport. So three stars is about right. The food portions are small and overpriced but at least you're sitting comfortably while you're eating them. read more

In the Newark airport and there weren't many food options, was thankful that Vino Volo had a table for us. I think the food is over priced for what you get, I downloaded their app in order to get free popcorn and a wine tasting, the wine is good, popcorn is crazily stale.
