I did have a medical emergency at the restaurant and I haven't been back since, but they all treated me so well. I'm very grateful. My observations; 1. Service is efficient and quick! I ask Why it wasn't made when she went back to find out because it's been 20 minutes since she went looking for it. She asks if I would still like it to be brought out, I say yes , bring it in a to go box because my family is now done eating. Fast forward 15 minutes, Evelyn comes over and asked if it's OK for her to just take my meal off the ticket. Thinking she's going to bring my food out and comp it but no, she means just eliminate like I never ordered! I ask, so I'm just not eating and she replies, "I can have to kitchen make it now if you'd like" - are you kidding me?!! Manager came over to say sorry. Not hey, let me comp some meals or let me hurry and make for you. Just, sorry. I was absolutely floored! We went out to eat at a restaurant, but after an hour and 45 minutes I never got to eat. It's so crazy it's laughable, I was angry and so hungry! This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my 50 years on earth. I'm sure E.... Is a nice girl but it was a disaster! This is by FAR y favorite restaurant in Rexburg. Everytime I go, between the Latin music, the family who owns the business and their hospitality and the cleanliness, I always literally feel like I'm at home here. They have homemade horchata and chocoflan which is always hard to come by, and I have yet to eat something that I don't fall in love with. I would stop by here any chance I get if I were you ! Woooow!! Love love loved it!!! Amazing food, sweet people, Mexican ambiance... Chicken Nachos, Chicken Salad, and Shrimp Al Mojo De Ajo Platillo, all FANTASTIC!! Didn't taste a hint of cheap vegetable oils. From what I can taste and see, it's truly authentic! Normal prices for eating out at a regular restaurant, but way better food!! They never gave a prompt or option to tip. At the end when we got the Chocolate Flan (also epically good) I ask to include a tip. They laughed and said no need to tip, but a Yelp review would be cool. Whaa? I think I might move to Rexburg just to eat here more... This place is a gem!! They have this meal called machete that is unbelievably good. It's this really good rectangular white corn flour tortilla (reminded me of a skinny Square Arepa) with your choice of meat(I had the grilled chicken) incredible! I would enjoy any of the ingredients by themselves, but together they are soooo friggin good. I had dreams about for days and had to come back for more, and it was even better than I had hoped again. My wife agreed. Service staff was super nice and helpful and place is clean and def has that authentic Mexican cafe vibe. I STRONGLY recommend you come and try the machete and for dessert their flan is pretty good too. read more

We went for lunch today. The food was delicious, but the portions were small. The menu is really limited, too. If you want a taco or burrito, you'll be happy. We also ordered chips and salsa. We got the chips, which were tasty, but no salsa! They directed us to a table with an assortment of hot sauces to choose from. No actual salsa. The decor is nice and the place was clean , but most of the tables were really small and seated 3 people. We had to combine 2 tables to seat our family of 5. I don't plan to go back because there are better options in town for cheaper prices. read more

I don't think I'll ever have a better breakfast burrito. I ate like once a week there when I first moved here fall 2019. When I came back this fall, it wasn't as good as I remembered it to be... so that's why they lost a star. It could've just been a bad day though because I've had 100 great experiences and just 1 bad one. Their chipotle chicken burrito and I think their California one (I can't recall the name. As someone who was born in Mexico City I am very picky when it comes to Mexican food. However Casa de Ochoa was a delightful surprise, as soon as I entered the restaurant I enjoyed the atmosphere. I have tried most of the food there now and there has not been one disappointment. All of it has been very tasty along with great customer service. I never thought Rexburg would have a good Mexican restaurant but I have now been proven wrong. Husband and I go very frequently. read more

I am a California girl, suffering in Utah because Mexican food here has NO Flavor. But my taste buds are happy, and I now have a place I will drive to ANY time of the year to get some AMAZING Mexican food. A little piece of my home, San Diego. The nostalgia courses though my taste buds and i can almost hear the dolphins singing in the background. I love Mexican food and have eaten in restaurants all over the state. In my opinion, this restaurant has the best burritos in Idaho. I often ask for a burrito al pastor even though it's not on the menu. My kids like the California burrito...it's pretty darn good too. This food is authentic and always fresh and the staff is great! This is by far the best Mexican food in town. If you're looking for authentic made from scratch mexican food and salsas this is the place. They never disappoint. What's better is you don't pay an arm and a leg like you do at other restaurants in the area. I definitely recommend you try the California burrito, you won't regret it. read more

Sometimes the wait is a bit long but everything is really fresh so I usually forget how long I wait by the time I start eating the food! Finally the kind of Mexican place you'd expect in CA in small town Idaho. Burritos are great. Nachos are my go to late night snack. They also have more traditional options like sopes or carne asada. The hardest thing is choosing since it's all amazing. Make sure not to miss the salsa bar. Yum! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Rexburg. Period. Try the chile relleno platillo or the shrimp fajita quesadilla. Don't forget the horchata or choco-flan. Great fresh flavors. Gloria and Antonio really put their souls into this place. read more
