This has become one of our favorite local places to eat. The food is homemade, fresh, and absolutely delicious every time. The owner works so hard, and you can tell she truly cares about her customers. She is always kind, welcoming, and makes sure you have everything you need. We've been coming here for about two years now, and every visit has been consistently good. We actually heard about this place from the teenagers who love coming here on their school lunch breaks -- and they were right! It's a hidden gem with great food and even better hospitality. This has to be the worst establishment I've ever been to. She kinda reminds me of Amy from Amy's Baking Company. It's telling that the framed review of how good the place on the wall is 10 years old. Big selection of food but none of it seemed appealing. I've been to lots of Mexican places before. But that's personal preference. Only 3 options for vegetarians. Got the Quesadilla with spicy pork and the pork was overcooked. The pork and lettuce tasted burnt and chewy. Gross aftertaste and it was obvious the food was all cooked from the same pan. Vegetarians were served meat and when told the waiter, was extremely dismissive and angry when told. Said it was mushroom rather than accepting the mistake. Turns out the waiter was the owner, which explained how defensive she got. Cross contamination like this could be dangerous. Extremely rude behavior, refused to make simple alterations to food, angrily dumped our plates on the table, trash talked us when confronted, and accused us of tampering with the food to create complaints. I liked the horchata, but everyone else who ordered it didn't like it. Everyone else's food seemed fine. But the treatment and the food some of us got wasn't good. Everyone left their food on the table because her behavior left us all uncomfortable and we decided to leave. DO NOT COME HERE. We came here to celebrate birthdays with a large group and were treated horribly. The waitress who was also the owner of the restaurant was rude to us all from the start. She snapped at my mom and her friends for pointing out there was meat in their food despite explicitly stating there should be no meat and we were vegetarian. She accused us of picking up meat from other dishes and putting them in our own?? How rude!! She gave us such a hard time and a bad attitude on what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Avoid!! This is a small hole in the wall restaurant which is usually family owned and we wanted to give them business. Ordered mostly vegetarian meals except for 4 of the 21 of us. Server apparently was the owner of the place. Vegetarian food ordered had crispy pork in the dish. The server to begin with was very unfriendly. We were a group of 21. If she couldn't handle a large group, she should not have seated us. When we told her that there was meat in the vegetarian dishes, she flatly denied saying it was mushrooms. We know the difference between meat and mushrooms! Argued with customers, denied her own mistake. And extremely rude and arrogant. We expected her to apologize and not charge us for the 2 plates of burritos. But that didn't happen. She argued with us saying we put the meat in the plate ourselves. It wasn't a very nice ending to our day, that much I can say. Please avoid and let the owner know her behavior is not appreciated. Sorry Ms El Rincon.... You deserve this nasty review. We've eaten in the restaurant a number of times and have often had takeout orders. We've always been very satisfied with the service and food. First time here even though we've had a cabin nearby for seventeen years. The food and service were great. We were there for dinner on a Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Even though there were several other groups, our food was delivered super fast. They brought chips, salsa and hot bean dip as appetizers. They use lots of tomatoes and red/green peppers in their food. Their plates are heated in the oven before being loaded with food, so be careful and don't burn yourself. Good variety of bottled and regular drinks. We were too full for desserts, but they offer fried ice cream, chirps and flan. read more

Well, maybe not completely perfect, but pretty darn close to what I am used to in So. Calif. The chips and salsa, quite nice. They also brought us a refried bean sampler. That was a great indicator that we had not made a mistake eating here. I hate sounding like such a snob! As if I didn't blow it on chips already, I ordered their nachos with practically the kitchen sink on it. The spicy pork was chopped into small cubes and quite tasty and moist. The beans were excellent, plenty of cheese, and the chips very fresh and thin. The guacamole, meh. Mr. B chose the garlic shrimp. Not totally authentic, it was cooked with onions, carrots and celery. We consider that strange. But it was still tasty. Our entire meal was $20, a shocker after much higher priced food during our trip. The service was good too. The food was ok. I did not recieve what was advertised on the menu. I order the Rib eye steak medium and I got a flat piece of flank steak. Which I would not mind bc it was 10$ however, it was way under cooked. I recieved a side of attitude instead. The ham on menu was also falsely advertised. It was just ham for a sandwhich. The local secret it that this place has the best burgers in Town - and you get chips and salsa while you wait for the burgers. Burgers are very reminiscent of burgers from The Habit chain - so if you've eaten there you'll understand. I like the Double Bacon Cheeseburger. The fries are also good. Very inexpensive for what you get. Definitely a good deal. The enchiladas are very good too. This is after all a Mexican restaurant. They serve Pepsi but you can get Mexican Coke in a bottle! We drove about an hour to get here but were nervous we wouldn't get here in time before close. We called ahead just to make sure they would let us in if we showed up shortly before close. They said yes. We showed up at 8:25. They don't close till 9. We walked up to the door, could see people just giving their orders, and a little waitress walks right up to the already open door to close it right in our faces. We ask if they're still open, she looks at us and says no. We say it's only 8:30. She turns in the door and yells "mom, are we open?" To which her mom says no. So the waitress didn't even know whether they were open or not. 35 minutes before close. So they decided to turn us away. Just inconsiderate and bad business. We were so excited. If you close at 9, close at 9. If you close at 8:30, turn off your "open" signs, and have signage that say you close at 8:30. Rude. Bad business. read more

Great food at family friendly prices. We stopped here at a recommendation from Helen from Rapid river rentals. The food was good. The burgers were large, as were the servings of fries and tater tots. We also had the macho burrito which was delicious but way to big for one person. If you want good food at budget friendly prices this is a good place. I noticed some people complained about wait time; I agree that the service was not fast, but after a long day of rafting I was happy to sit, cool down and reminisce about the days adventure with my family while I waited. read more

There is a small handful of horrible restaurants in Ashton.. This place is not one of them. In fact it's the only fresh food with flavor. We waited TWO hours without any apology for our food. We kept getting a... "yours is next" but it never was. When the food came out one plate at a time, it was frankly horrible. We were told it was the best mexican food in the area, but it was simply not that great. When one of the people in our group of 7 confronted the owner over the lack of service and lack of empathy for her customers, the owner quickly grew irate and said she was going to call the police..... just because we wanted some sort of apology. The owner was in no way customer centric. I could go on about specifically what she said but let's just say she could care less we waited two hours. We asked for choked add the waiter said that they have chiles but they can't prepare the guacamole with chile because the chef does not do that.
