From the first call to checking out, the hosts Karl and Patrick took exquisite care of our 12 lady group retreat. The rooms were well appointed. The hosts caring, attentive and vey helpful for letting us where to go and what to do in the area. The food was fantastic - breakfast, pies for midday treats and our caterer lovely, Elvia (recommended also by the hosts) was a perfect fit for our group. All the yelp reviews are correct: this is a perfect retreat in the desert, A sanctuary in an oasis along the San Pedro River. Run by Carl and Patrick for the past 20 years, it's a gem and a standout in the area. The entire property...grounds, gardens, pool, spa, courtyard, rooms etc, exude a stillness and quiet vibe that's light, serene and easygoing. Just came back from a bike tour and spent two nights at this inn. Karl and Patrick were very attentive to our needs. The place is very clean and inviting. We had two prepared meals which were very good. The second nights meal was Mexican food and I had to exclaim it was the best I ever tasted. Deserts were home made and outstanding. Will want to return if in this area again. It's out of the way so if your not from Az or big into birds it might be a ways to go....but very very nice read more

This place is absolutely beautiful. There is a wildlife sanctuary that you can walk through on a trail from the property. I got the suite and it was amazing. Lots of room. You can totally fit a family of 5 if not a few more easily. The room was clean and has almost everything you need for your stay. The breakfast is made with love and I don't say that too loosely either. They plan the meal out per guest and it all was made from scratch (or at least that is what it looked like). They have a fabulous pie spread to choose from as well. Patrick and Karl run the place and they are the sweetest guys that put a lot of love and time into the property. They have two beautiful dogs that come visit and light up the place. One thing that really stood out to me was their very tasteful book selection for those cozy nights outside under the stars to read if you wish. There is just so many great things I can't list them all! I highly recommend this stay. I personally would absolutely come back here again. read more

This year (2019) was my third time staying at Casa de San Pedro and it just keeps getting better and better. The location is a nature enthusiast's paradise with remarkable birding and wonderful hiking opportunities right outside your door. My wife were looking for a quick get away. This inn seemed liked the perfect intrinsic spot. Karl and Patrick were aboslutley great. They pay attention to detail and their inner actions with guests made the stay very friendly. They try to get to know your likes and meet your needs. Oh yeah, stay here! karl and Patrick are very welcoming. Accommodations are very comfortable. There is a courtyard in the center and a building with kitchen, big windows, and comfy chairs. Patrick makes incredible breakfasts, cheese blintz 1 day and chicken with poached eggs another day. Each breakfast starts with a yummy fruit bowl. It's all about birding here. The San Pedro river runs through here and the land is next to BLM land. LOts of bird feeders and birds. Qual wander the yard. I will stay here again! read more

Love the setting as it was very peaceful with birds chirping to welcome us. In the courtyard a beautiful fountain flows day and night. Room accommodations were excellent as well as a fantastic breakfast served at 8am. Yes we will be back for more. Well done in every aspect. 5stars for the rain water usage and solar energy they use. What a great inn. It is located between Sierra Vista and Bisbee and a very quiet and beautiful spot. Great walking and bird watching nearby as the property backs up to a nature reserve with a 2+mile walking loop. There is a labyrinth on site as well as a outdoor seating and grill for use. Spectacular views from every direction. The inn itself is well maintained and quaint. There are 10 rooms all with private entries from the central courtyard which had lots of seating and a fountain. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the heated blanket and electric fireplaces are a nice touch. The kitchen/living areas are great--lots of couches, chairs, a computer for use, wi-fi, tea/coffee and yummy fresh pies. Mmmm, pie. Make sure you try them. Breakfast was great. We had pancakes, fruit and sausage. If you have food requests be sure to request and they will handle them no problem. My husband was able to get scrambled egg whites (he is a health nut) and another women we were sitting was delighted to get her pancakes made with rice milk as she didn't do dairy. For dinner plan to either bring food to grill/microwave on site (there is a fridge available for personal storage) or drive about 30 mins to either Sierra Vista or Bisbee which have many options. There are also washers and dryers available for use. The inn keepers are fantastic. Very friendly and are a wealth of information on the surrounding area. They do an amazing job running the inn and truly deserve all these 5-star ratings! It was the perfect getaway from Tucson and we can't wait to go back! read more

This one gets a re-do as soon as possible. The location is spectacular, a stone's throw from the border and a nice little bike ride to the beautiful hike up to the Coronado National Monument. (Take a lot of water!) Or, on another day, head the other direction and go in to Bisbee. Or, if you like the birdies, I can't think of a better place to see them. At night you can see so many stars and falling stars you will see why people like the desert at night. The Inn is a hacienda reproduction with a fantastic bird magnet courtyard and tables and chairs outside each room. The common area is just lovely but not fussy. Super comfortable and furnished with "authentic" style. The breakfast is gourmet fare. Be prepared to be blown away at breakfast time. Fresh homemade pies and chocolate chip cookies are at the ready on the sideboard in the lovely dining room. (Two big mission tables and windows galore make this something unusual for a B & B.) The hosts are just wonderful. Super helpful and good breakfast company too! I think we've probably stayed at a dozen B & Bs over the last year and this one is definitely my new fave! I wish it wasn't so far away. read more

If your thoughts of the perfect morning is waking up after a comfortable, quiet nights sleep at dawn to the sound of sparrows singing, the call of the cactus wren makes your ears perk up and sipping fresh coffee while obserbving the world around you come alive with a burst of natures colors and activity this is the place for you. We were referred to this magical place by Richard Fray, from Fun Birding Tours, who was our birding guide for the day in the area. I will review this fabulous tour in a later post. Anyway after a full day of great birding with Richard we went to this Bed and Breakfast that is more like an upscale inn. All 11 spacious accommodations are tastefully decorated in a Mexican décor and surround a peaceful, beautiful courtyard with a tranquil fountain. Bird feeders are thoughtfully places throughout the property with comfortable seating for viewing the abundant wildlife. Karl and Patrick are so accommodating to their guests and treated us more like friends than guests. The attention to detail is evident in the preparation of the daily gourmet complimentary breakfast served in the dinning room. Some guests had special dietary requests and Patrick accommodated each. Even remembering guests requests from prior visits. A wide selection of tea was available all day with coffee available at 6:30AM, Fresh homemade pies were available all day. So good. I want the lemon coconut now!!! A 20 minute drive to town for groceries, or restaurants is necessary for meals; if pie and a delicious breakfast is not enough for the day. The two gas grills are available for guests use. There is a common area with a refrigerator, microwave, clothing washers and dryers. Oh, best of all, NO T.V. in the room!!! I love this, no noise and no distractions. If you wish, there is a T.V. and lots of books, magazines and comfy chairs in the common lounge. The large windows allow for viewing the bird feeders and if your lucky you will see the resident road runner. My favorite memory of our stay at this magical place is sitting in the hot tub, looking at the Arizona sky and seeing millions of star. Priceless. Birding is abundant on and around the property, flat trails allow for hiking and strolling. The topography is both desert and forest thanks to the San Pedro river that flows very near the property allowing for huge cottonwood trees to grow. If you are a birder, naturalist or nature lover I recommend a visit to Casa de San Pedro. read more

A beautiful, hospitable, restful oasis near the San Pedro River. Every detail has been organized for guest comfort, the food is out of this world, and I couldn't imagine a better location, especially for birders. On our recent spring visit, we birded before breakfast every day and were always rewarded with fun sightings. I formed a delightful habit of afternoon pie and coffee --- the only difficulty was choosing which delicious pie each day! Karl and Patrick are welcoming, wonderful hosts who have created a delightful, peaceful spot. This place has my highest recommendation. I will definitely visit again. read more

Great place!! You can stay on the property the entire time or use it as base camp for adventure at nearby sites and outdoor activity. We came for the birding and it was awesome. Great feeding stations on site and you see a lot of birds without ever leaving the property. The hosts are really wonderful and kind and do their best to make you comfortable and welcome. We stayed here for the first time over Valentine's Day in February 2019. Beautiful, quiet and peaceful location that is perfect for lovers and lovers of nature -- especially birds. Trails on the property are integrated with adjacent public lands with excellent birding opportunities in the San Pedro River riparian watershed. The rooms are clean, quaint yet well appointed. Every possible guest need has been anticipated. The food is incredible! Everything is fresh and prepared on site. All the staff that we met were friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Karl and Patrick are fabulous hosts! This was a beautiful and accommodating place that truly felt like a home away from home. My room was #4 right of the court yard. Laundry and beverages were close by. The food is amazing. We had breakfast every morning and it was always phenomenal. Patrick and Karl are so very sweet and helpful about anything that you might need. It was so very beautiful and the grounds were meticulously landscaped. Many hummingbirds and birds of all variety at the Casa and grounds nearby. When I was visiting, SOBA even came and did a hummingbird banding and I got to hold a hummingbird for release. When I first turned into the drive, there was a beautiful roadrunner letting me know that I had reached the right place. There were an abundance of butterflies every day fluttering around as well. Come and bring an appetite, your good camera, and a sense of adventure! Be ready for homemade pies and cookies daily!! We had a wonderful stay here on a birding tour. Beautiful setting and wonderful people. The food is top rate - take a break from your diet and enjoy. While everything was terrific, I particularly appreciated high end washers and dryers (no charge) which were just right to refresh in the middle of a long tour and quiet, effective and efficient cooling. Too often those systems are noisy or ineffective. Not these. Can't recommend highly enough. read more
