Courtyard of the hotel

Love it all. 1) wonderful hosts (and dogs!) 2) comfortable rooms 3) comfortable hotel: Rooms to sit and watch bird feeders from the window; extensive bird/nature/hiking library, pie in the afternoon, great breakfasts 4) outdoor feeders draw the birds 5) hiking trails along the river and grasslands 6) easy driving distance to all the birding spots we wanted to explore, and to restaurants for dinner I want to go back.

Just came back from a bike tour and spent two nights at this inn. Karl and Patrick were very attentive to our needs. The place is very clean and inviting. We had two prepared meals which were very good. The second nights meal was Mexican food and I had to exclaim it was the best I ever tasted. Deserts were home made and outstanding. Will want to return if in this area again. It's out of the way so if your not from Az or big into birds it might be a ways to go....but very very nice

This place is absolutely beautiful. There is a wildlife sanctuary that you can walk through on a trail from the property. I got the suite and it was amazing. Lots of room. You can totally fit a family of 5 if not a few more easily. The room was clean and has almost everything you need for your stay. The breakfast is made with love and I don't say that too loosely either. They plan the meal out per guest and it all was made from scratch (or at least that is what it looked like). They have a fabulous pie spread to choose from as well. Patrick and Karl run the place and they are the sweetest guys that put a lot of love and time into the property. They have two beautiful dogs that come visit and light up the place. One thing that really stood out to me was their very tasteful book selection for those cozy nights outside under the stars to read if you wish. There is just so many great things I can't list them all! I highly recommend this stay. I personally would absolutely come back here again.

Love the setting as it was very peaceful with birds chirping to welcome us. In the courtyard a beautiful fountain flows day and night. Room accommodations were excellent as well as a fantastic breakfast served at 8am. Yes we will be back for more. Well done in every aspect. 5stars for the rain water usage and solar energy they use. We were delighted they allowed us to charge up our Chevy Volt overnight at a 110v outlet in the parking lot.

Kim and Tom made us feel so welcomed and were very accommodating. There was even a handwritten welcome note wishing us a happy anniversary. The cottage itself made you feel like you were right at home. It was beautifully furnished and well equipped with basically everything you need except your own clothes. You do need to bring your own meals but the pantry was very well stocked with a variety of items and Kim made us a delicious quiche which we had for breakfast the next morning. They also gave us some very fresh eggs from their chickens to take home. The property was beautiful and so peaceful. Just outside the kitchen windows, you can see a wide variety of wild birds hanging out by the feeders on the trees. They had many chickens at the barn and cute little chicks that were just recently hatched. Kim was so patient and kind around our daughter, who helped her feed the chickens! During our morning walk, Cody the horse and Wilbur the goat even came over to say hi and allowed us to pet them. Our only regret was not being able to stay for longer. We will definitely come back soon! So if you live in Tucson (or anywhere else in the world, really) and want to getaway from the city, please do yourselves a favor and stay at Kim and Tom's!

The B&B has several cabins as well as individual rooms in the 'main' building. We were on the 2nd floor. The bedroom and bathroom was comfortable and clean. The main guest spaces (communal) were cozy- a study/ curl up on the couch space to read or watch birds, a kitchen nook and a large main dining room area. A full kitchen and fridge is available for use. Breakfast items available for self preparation or granola bars and fruit and cheese for non- prep options. Pie, coffee, tea and juice were also available. Outdoors you have access to a private garden with chairs, decorative water features, and bird feeders, or a porch option with seating to observe the wildlife. A great getaway space to relax and take in nature ... and extra convenient being next to the Preserve. A few things to note: 1. The website boasts of a chef prepared breakfast in their video. That was discontinued a while ago and unfortunately not disclosed/ clarified (website does say continental breakfast... but the video is also up... mixed messages) at time of booking. While I would have like to have been pampered with a chef prepared breakfast... the alternative of having items available for your own fixings was also appreciated. (2) The pie mentioned in the video also not entirely accurate. There is pie for guests... but it's not homemade. Based on the pie boxes in the freezer it's pie from Walmart. Again, not an issue unless you are envisioning something different from their old reviews. (3) This property maybe for sale or in the process of new ownership.., can't confirm but I did see it listed online. Just hoping that new ownership continues to keep it as a b&b, does not increase rates significantly making it less affordable and continues to make it a haven for nature preservation and for people this.

My experience at the Hidden Oasis was an extended stay, around 3 weeks and their casitas included everything I needed to feel at home, including wifi. I hope you have the pleasure of a wonderful meal prepared by Max and story time about Dragoon, the previous owners of the Hidden Oasis, Max and Chad's life and much more. The meditation labyrinth was a favorite spot of mine to enjoy a moment and take in the outstanding scenery of the surrounding mountains. To completely experience the Hidden Oasis I highly recommend enjoying some bourbon in the hot tub under the stars and watching the sunset by the fire pit. It's quite a show. If you need to stock your fridges and shop for essentials during your stay I recommend: Benson, AZ - 17 miles away (SafeWay/Walmart) Willcox, AZ - 25 miles away (SafeWay) Local Activities include hiking and exploring the wineries in Willcox. Pearce, AZ is a local ghost town with a couple of shops that is 20 minutes away. Whether it's for a night or a week I think you will love your stay at the Hidden Oasis.

He gets up and puts out bird feed every morning so that by the time you wake up birds will be all a flutter outside your windows. How amazing is that? Even if I never made it out of bed before 11. They also provide fresh bread, eggs, milk and a little OJ to get you started that first morning ... or to devour that first night after hitting up the local bars. Whatever. I only spent a weekend, but a longer stay would definitely be preferable. It's so relaxing and peaceful, 2 days is not enough. P.S. I wasn't kidding about living here. What kind of deal would I get on an indefinite stay?
