First and most importantly, the housekeeping lady was incredible! I forgot her name, but she was very kind and helpful, and she showed us the entire property. The exterior of the building is very rustic and beautiful, and it was a fun experience eating breakfast on the front porch and watching the city life. The kitchen/breakfast area feels like you're at your grandparents' house. Keeping with that theme, the bedrooms and bathrooms are very dated, which gives it a cute charm. The price of the room was the cheapest in all of Bisbee, which is great for someone just passing through and needing a place to stay. I plan on staying here every time I come back to Bisbee. The one thing I think the inn needs to improve is their smoke detectors. Our smoke detector went off in the middle of the night and we started freaking out. We did some research and found that the smoke detectors were from the 1990s and mid 2000s. read more

Im all about a quirky hotel or Airbnb experience but I was not quite ready for this one. Bisbee is an old mining town, lots of old buildings, antiques and repurposed items. I stayed in room 38, upstairs at the end of the hallway. The room was small but I don't spend much time indoors when I travel. When I walked in I wish I could've opened the window, it smelled like it had been closed off for a while. There were no screens on the windows and I didn't want to sleep with the mosquitos, So I turned on the ceiling fan and a/c and hoped for the best. There's a shared fridge & freezer for ice on the second floor, I filled up my water bottle and headed out. Nothing matches .. doors, carpets, paint, bedding, towels, furniture, carpets, flooring, art, decoupaged posters on walls, etc.. and everything is well worn. I had purple floral sheets, peach towels, brown hand towels, purple wash clothes, old/ dirty pink carpet, even the light bulbs don't match The shower is like the size of an Rv shower. There are two TVs on property in two community rooms, lots of board games and books, lots of areas to sit & lounge. There are a few hidden seating areas if you like to explore. Most rooms have a balcony or outdoor area, my room did not. Definitely a no frills kind of hotel, no tv, one outlet next to the bed for the ac & lamp, nowhere near bed to charge phone, no vanity space to place toiletries, Free breakfast of coffee, bagels, cold or hot cereal from 5:30am to 10am. Property is on main road, walking distance to everything, street parking. read more

Whenever I visit Bisbee, this is usually where I stay. This 1895 historic hotel is located in the middle of Old Bisbee at the foot of Castle Rock. It's a very unique place to stay. The walls are decorated with many old paintings, photos, and artifacts. Each room is uniquely themed with many of them having a balcony view. The nice thing about Inn at Castle Rock is that you are walking distance from many of the restaurants and activities in the downtown area. There is so much to do and explore here at the Inn at Castle Rock. My favorite is the Octagon room at the top of the building. The walls are angled with large windows and you can sit and relax in a chair and enjoy the views. There is nice fireplace next to the kitchen that has cozy reclining chairs. The entertainment room has a piano and a TV with movies. The Inn at Castle Rock was built over Apache Springs Well and you can view it near the lobby area. This place may be old, but it is very unique and has a lot of history to it. The staff is very friendly and the prices are usually pretty affordable. read more

Whimsical and wacky in the best possible way. Stairs going hither and yon. An amazing outside wraparound balcony with a porch swing. Porch swing was perfectly positioned above and across from an outdoor musical venue. Rooms super quaint with a convenient well-designed bathroom. People were outside our window on the deck. No privacy here. I took a nap in the afternoon, and woke up in hives, throat swelling, difficulty breathing due to allergies. They may have had pets in that room or something else. I had to leave before a medical emergency happened. I agreed to pay for the first night even though we did not stay. However, they still charged for the second night too. It was a very busy weekend and I am surprised that I was charged for a 2nd night. I called to ask to not to be charged for the 2nd night due my allergies. Apparently they need the money. By the looks of the place, the lack of amenities, overall poor condition I would say only stay here if you need to save a few bucks. And be good with tiny, narrow, steep, stairs. read more

First time at the Inn at Castle Rock. Previously saw the Inn on other trips and spent the night in Room 36 called Return to Paradise. The Hotel was built in the 1890s. Our room was a double room with two single beds and a full size bed. The hotel has lots of rustic charm. Some renovations may be a work in progress. The high point was spending time on the private veranda enjoying the view and the weather. The rooms are meant for sleeping with a private bath. They have a separate TV room, a large patio, community refrigerator and a breakfast room. No elevators, good internet and friendly staff. Was unaware of the history and new ownership. Some interesting observations. The bathroom in Room 36 is large and has a two compartment kitchen sink with cabinets. Think it was part of a kitchen at one time. There are a number of electrical outlets in the rooms. The challenge is finding them, but they are there in odd places Lots of sharpie ink notations on electrical switches. Room did have a smoke detector. Toiletries provided and plenty of hot water. I couldn't figure out how the heat worked. There was a large old space heater next to the single bed on the wall. There was also a thermostat in the room and a window cooler. Asked about the heat and they mentioned an oil space heater. Did not find that little sucker until the next morning as it was in an open closet enclosure. Decided I did not really want to start lighting a pilot light on the other wall heater in the room, I did not have matches. Plenty of blankets in the dresser so all good. Parking is public along the street. Location is close to restaurants and shops. If looking for a work desk, hair dryer, in room refrigerator, TV or coffee pot, may want to look elsewhere. Now that I know what to expect, I will be back. read more

The manager is unprofessional, staying on the phone instead of greeting guests. We booked ahead for 2 nights. She gave us a very dark, dank and unpleasant room at the very back of the hotel. When we asked to change rooms, she grudgingly moved us but warned all other rooms were booked for the next night. We were booked for the next night as well, so why is she giving higher priority to those arriving later? Then she refused to reimburse us if we cancel our second night. It's pricey for what you get. Otherwise would give it 5 stars. The staff is exceptionally kind, welcoming and helpful. They really make you feel at home. The rooms are old but very clean and well maintained. And the walls are thick. There were two young couples staying in the room right next to mine and I never heard a thing except for when they were on the veranda. There are no TVs in the room (fine with me). The wifi is adequate. No fridges in the room but there is a "community" fridge to keep your perishables and drinks in. As for the town of Bisbee, it was a little disappointing. It was packed with tourists and really noisy and congested. Parking was a nightmare. I thought it would be much quainter and more laid back. It was on the weekend, so there's that. I wouldn't go there on a weekend ever again. read more

Bisbee is a very interesting town, and the inn mirrors that vibe well. Built around the spring that built the town, the inn is oozing with history. Looking at the other reviews, we were excited for the stay and knew that the inn was historical and would lack general hotel amenities/standards (which we could care less about). I gave the inn 4 stars because although it was quaint and cool, I felt like the Inn leaned on being historical and was renovated once and then left to age on it's own accord. We've stayed at plenty of old historic inns on this trip but they all managed to keep the integrity of the beautiful spaces. This inn could have done a bit of a better job. Overall, it was a fine stay but what I would have expected had I paid $65/70 during the off season. Inn was cool, pillows were not that great, coffee in the AM! read more

This is a very old building and if you're interested in the unique-this is your place!! There's an old mine inside the office and the staff were very friendly. The place fits right in with the town's unique old feeling. The bat signal that lit up on the rock on the opposite side of the street at night was AWESOME!!! I loved this place. We were looking for a historic hotel with charm. If you are looking for modern conveniences, a TV in your room, etc. this is not your place. However, if you are looking for what feels like being in your friends guest room (various themes for differenct rooms...ours was venitian), that is clean, you are at the right place. The owners have taken care to update this late 1800's hotel to feel homey. It is the opposite of a typical Days Inn. The room did not have a TV, microwave, coffee maker, ironing board, etc but we knew that going in. We had our own bathroom. The breakfest provided was like going into your friend's kitchen. It had a refrigerator with milk, butter, and other condiments. It had containers with begals, bread, engish muffins, cereal, etc. They have actual dishes, glasses, coffee mugs, silverware and such. You put your dishes in the sink when you are done. It has the actual first well that Bisbee was founded on in the lobby. It has two lounge rooms, one called the octogon, that has a fireplace, board games, a TV, and books. Each floor has a wrap around porch with porch swings and addornadak chairs. The grounds have trails heading up the cliffs behind the hotel to look outs and private decks. It was a truly unique hotel experience. read more

The Inn has a great location on edge of downtown - Its walkable to just about everything. The Inn feels like a fun and artsy aunt's house, rather than a hotel. The rooms are modest and have private bathrooms - some details feel dyi. I appreciated the unique accommodations and the location. I love, love, LOVE this place! The inn is unique and beautifully built. It has great history and the workers are always willing tell the story and give you a tour. We chose this inn because it was reasonably priced and in a very short walking distance to everything. We stayed in the Legal Tender room which was very cozy and clean. Rooms in general are very clean, although the showers could use a little renovation. In the morning, they serve up some truly delicious coffee in a pretty, very windowed outdoor kitchen that you can enjoy in the beautiful patio and gardens. The gardens are a series of steps up a very green ivory and tree covered hillside. There are a lot of romantic shaded nooks to enjoy in the garden. There are a few little bridges that connect the second story to the top of the gardens that I love. The balconies are full of wooden lounge chairs and swinging benches to relax and read books or people watch. If you get a generous tour of the house, there are many interesting passageways and other floors you can't see that make the house very unique. Although some areas could use a little refurbishment and renovation, the place is very clean and I love the uniqueness of it and a very fun place to explore! read more

My husband and I had never been to Bisbee before so we decided to check it out this past weekend. I found the great reviews for Inn at Castle Rock and decided to book the cottage - a property next door to the hotel. It was adorable! The cottage is a little house with two bedrooms, a living area, kitchen with a breakfast area and a nice bathroom with a new shower. It also has a big front porch and additional sitting area. Too cute! The kitchen was also stocked with fruit, a coffee pot and even had bagels and muffins in the fridge - I thought that was a nice touch. We both loved it and the staff at the hotel are great - very friendly. It was such a wonderful getaway for us and within walking distance to shops and dining. One note: The beds are firm and it doesn't have a tub. It also has a hot tub that you have to reserve in advance for an additional $50 - we didn't do that. Note: The TV doesn't work if you don't hook it up to Netflix or whatever you use. We weren't there to watch TV so that didn't bother us. read more

There's a crazy lady that works the front desk. She harassed me the morning after spending the night about my service dog. She asked me to pay 150 extra for having a dog. I walked in the hotel with my dog the night before and was even talking to the owner for a bit. He seemed like a nice and very interesting guy owning a hotel of such great history. The building was absolutely beautiful from the outside but the rooms are filled with cheap furniture scratchy bed sheets and tacky wall coverings. The lady that checked me in the night before was so nice and in the morning shit I was asked what kind of service my dog gives to me. I have previously had cancer for most of my adult life and I am currently pregnant. She blocked the hallway door and would not let me and my boyfriend leave with out the 150 dollars and told me she was calling the cops. I was like please do and where is the owner? I was so upset by this treatment me and my boyfriend packed up our things and did not get to enjoy the beautiful town of Bisbee. I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone even though it looks very cute from the outside the quality of the room is low budget for $100 room it may be worth 45 max. read more

Awful experience. The stench in our room was horrendous, a mixture of vomit, body odor and dead animal. I immediately gagged when we opened the door to our room. We've stayed in many hotels in Bisbee that didn't have the foul smell in the rooms. You can expect a musty smell due to the age of the hotels in but this was unimaginable. We were courteous enough to wait until incoming guests left the front office before informing the lady at the front desk of the pungent smell in our room. The lady at the front desk was very friendly and called her manager so we could discuss issue with her. The manager showed no concern for our issue, told us the guest who spent the night before in the same room didn't complain, that the hotel was over 100 yrs old and has a musty smell, and that she couldn't reimburse us the cost or even 50% of the cost of the room. Totally lacking in customer service. Needless to say we left the hotel, no reimbursement, but want to let others know what we experienced. The only reason I rated this a 1-star is because the lady at the front desk was very nice and the location is close to shops. Public parking was difficult. read more

I like this old ramshackle Inn built into the mountain hugging the edge of Tombstone Canyon with an old mineshaft in the middle of what was once the dining room but is now the office, and a vertical garden growing up the cliff face behind it. It's kind of a haunted DIY kind of place with wrap around porches, think the biggest summer camp cabin you've ever been been to with part time help and maybe a few ghosts. If you are looking to be waited on hand and foot by attentive staff in the lap of luxury you might want to find a different place to stay. But if you like it a little more cool and edgy and you can mostly fend for yourself at night then this place is for you. This place is full of old stuff that's just old, nobody is faking it here. It always needs paint even though you can tell it's being painted, nothing is square or level or ADA compliant and everything creaks and rolls, it's all hand built to last but sometimes not by the finest craftsman but you can feel and see all the hands that have created in including the current ones. Check it out, it's changed a lot over the 30 years I've been coming here but it's still way reasonably priced and very very cool. It's a one of a kind and a true original. There is always hot coffee downstairs in the morning along with a few things for breakfast if you want. read more

I have read the reviews of this hotel and have to say it's not artistic or eclectic. There are several paintings to view. The rooms are a need of an upgrade-carpet torn, blankets torn, bed mattress felt like it had not been replaced since the 80's. For the $130 a night we were not impressed, we reserved two nights and only could stay for one. The wifi never worked and was given two different passwords and the wrong wifi connection name. There are parking spots in front of hotel but it's first come. There is one 20 inch TV in the TV room. I suggest either a bigger TV in that room or little TV's in each room. I agree with one comment ask to look at rooms first. I'm happy others like it not a place for us. Staff are great but office closes early. read more

This place jacked up an advertised two night rate by 40.00 dollars per night because of a dog and they thought I was too tired to go else where. It's also in the shadow of Castle Rock and I can't imagine the rooms get very warm as there is no sun in that spot. There are plenty of places to stay. Stay somewhere else. Staying at this quaint hotel was a major highlight of Bisbee. This place has charm and the staff couldn't be nicer. The room is clean, the view from the balcony is great, and we loved the common tv room. The continental breakfast was perfect and sitting in the garden area having morning coffee was so refreshing. First of all Bisbee is such a cool little town. We've stayed there several times usually at the popular Copper Queen hotel but this trip they were full. That turned out to be such a blessing because we found the Inn at Castle Rock. Such a cool place ! What makes it so unique is the owner and his staff. They welcome you just like long lost friends. The building itself is really unique. Lots of areas to sit and chat in either in a quiet, romantic setting like on the porch outside your room, the hammock outside on the 3rd floor, patios outside or inside in the cozy setting around the pot belly stove. Compared to the Copper Queen hotel we will chose to stay at the Inn at Castle Rock! We stayed in the room with a double shower which was heaven ! The Inn has so many cool things to look at on every floor. There's even the original existing well with water still inside on the 1st floor. Really unique place that you have to experience. The Inn is located on the main street in town where they have excellent boutiques, art galleries , wine tasting , restaurants galore and lots of bars and pubs. It's perfect. Give it a try. You will be happy you did. We can't wait to go back. read more

I spent a month here, writing songs for my new album, and could not have been more pleased with my accommodations. The owner, manager, and staff went above and beyond to make me feel like I was part of the family, always making sure I had everything I needeed. Lexi, the fabulous Innkeeper, even recommended a local music shop that was able to fix my guitar!! I will definitely be back soon - hopefully next time I'll see a ghost!! Be prepared to ditch your cell phone, forget about boring old TV programs and instead spend some quality time with your loved ones or soul searching by yourself. Really enjoyed my one night here! This place has a sort of b&b feel - each room is decorated differently, and there are lots of common spaces to sit, sip on something and enjoy people-watching or just some serenity. Like most buildings in old Bisbee, it has some great history and they haven't tried to modernize it too much. I'm a-ok with that, and honestly, it's what I expected. Parking isn't hard, there's always some spare spot! I've stayed elsewhere in Bisbee (closer to brewery gulch) and it's normally quite loud and the walls are thin as paper! Here, we had no problems with noise except for the occasional motorcycle. The continental breakfast is nothing to write home about, but I really enjoyed grabbing a cup of coffee and sitting out on the 2nd floor balcony. It was very peaceful. I wouldn't count on this place to replace your breakfast, but honestly, there are way too many delicious places to eat in Bisbee to bother worrying about that! I would love to stay here again. I really enjoyed my stay at the Inn at Castle Rock. I came down with a group of bikers and Chris, the owner, gave us a small discount for booking a month ahead. Chris met us when we arrived and made sure everything was awesome. This location is perfect and you can walk to everything in Old Bisbee. There are no televisions in the rooms, however, so if you are a TV addict, then this may not be your best choice. I don't know about WiFi speed because I don't carry a computer while on a trip. I know they have free WiFi available for guest use, though. Breakfast is a Continental variety, and this is one area Chris could improve upon. Breakfast doughnuts came long after we were done eating. I will say the coffee was over the top, but would have loved some 1/2 and 1/2 to put into my cup instead of regular milk. There is also a breakfast restaurant across the street, and the Bisbee Coffee Company just down the street, as well. I recommend this inn as one of my favorite places to stay in Bisbee. read more

Not the typical Sheraton or Marriott, but what you'd expect for an old mining town. The hotel is in a great location, the inn keeper was super friendly, and it was nice to have free WiFi, a place to store our perishables, and a quaint room overlooking the touristy street. We also enjoyed a common area outside our room. The room was clean and well kept and had historic charm. It was also next to the Screaming Banshee which the inn keeper recommended for pizza and she was spot on. The only negatives and the reason I did not give five stars is because we had to fend for our own parking on the street (we ended up finding a close spot), the pillows were like pancakes and the mattress was a little sunken in the middle. But then we were only there for one night, and it was just what we needed and fairly priced. Overall, I would recommend and stay there again in the future. read more

Didn't stay at the Inn but I did eat at their restaurant "Table 10" and what a great experience it was. The Chef/server/host runs the whole evening there is one table that sits up to ten people. The evening starts out with wine, BYOB, in the sitting room and you get to meet the people you will be dining with, over a few glasses of whatever it is you brought. As the appetizers are being brought out you move to take your seats at the table and the five course meal begins. The food is fresh, inventive and made with local ingredients prepared with a south american twist. Being able to have dinner and converse with new people or should I say new friends is a refreshing escape from your typical night out. and why should anything be typical in Bisbee? Next time you make a trip to Bisbee reserve a seat at Table 10. read more
