I came here last weekend with 7 of my girlfriends to celebrate my best friend's upcoming wedding. Since I live in another state, I was only able to see photos prior to coming. Wow! It exceeded our expectations. We booked the Hummingbird house and Eagles Nest to accommodate all of us. The hummingbird house was newly renovated and remodeled and looked beautiful inside. It was a home away from home with all the amenities. It resides next to a nature preserve and we took a beautiful hike in the morning encountering a family of deer. The nature surrounding the inn was picturesque with a creek running along it. On Sunday, we were served an incredible breakfast by their chef in the main kitchen. The food was delicious and a very warm environment. The chef was super friendly and talked with us the whole time. We felt like we were in a friends home. Not too mention the unbelievable pies that were served every afternoon! Delicious! We will definitely return here for another visit. Situated right outside the entrance to Ramsey Canyon preserve & The Nature Conservancy visitor center... and within walking distance. The B&B has several cabins as well as individual rooms in the 'main' building. We were on the 2nd floor. The bedroom and bathroom was comfortable and clean. The main guest spaces (communal) were cozy- a study/ curl up on the couch space to read or watch birds, a kitchen nook and a large main dining room area. A full kitchen and fridge is available for use. Breakfast items available for self preparation or granola bars and fruit and cheese for non- prep options. Pie, coffee, tea and juice were also available. Outdoors you have access to a private garden with chairs, decorative water features, and bird feeders, or a porch option with seating to observe the wildlife. A great getaway space to relax and take in nature ... and extra convenient being next to the Preserve. A few things to note: 1. The website boasts of a chef prepared breakfast in their video. That was discontinued a while ago and unfortunately not disclosed/ clarified (website does say continental breakfast... but the video is also up... mixed messages) at time of booking. While I would have like to have been pampered with a chef prepared breakfast... the alternative of having items available for your own fixings was also appreciated. (2) The pie mentioned in the video also not entirely accurate. There is pie for guests... but it's not homemade. Based on the pie boxes in the freezer it's pie from Walmart. Again, not an issue unless you are envisioning something different from their old reviews. (3) This property maybe for sale or in the process of new ownership.., can't confirm but I did see it listed online. Just hoping that new ownership continues to keep it as a b&b, does not increase rates significantly making it less affordable and continues to make it a haven for nature preservation and for people this. read more

The webpage reads as follows: A gourmet breakfast prepared by our Executive Chef each morning and our Blue Ribbon pies served in the afternoon adds to the exceptional experience you can expect when you stay at the Ramsey Canyon Inn! NONE OF THIS IS TRUE. The pie was store brought, cut into individual severing. Breakfast was help yourself to what's in the refrigerator store brand items (great value). Not worth the $223 we paid. Ramsey Canyon Inn is a beautiful property in the peaceful natural setting of Ramsey Canyon. My husband and I have visited the canyon to hike and birdwatch a couple of times and wanted to check out the B&B that's right next to the parking lot, so we booked a weekend stay. We have stayed at a couple of B&Bs, and Ramsey Canyon Inn mostly stacks up well against the others, with delicious breakfast and pies and a comfortable room. However, we wouldn't stay here again because our priority is hummingbird watching, and they don't fill their feeders in the morning. Overnight, the nectar is drained by bats, so they're completely empty by morning, and they stay that way until late afternoon. Since Ramsey Canyon doesn't open until 8 or 9, depending on the season, this means we couldn't get up early to watch hummingbirds before breakfast. And during breakfast, the kitchen window has a fabulous view of a feeder, but it was empty, so no birds could come drink from it. We were so disappointed that our only time to watch hummingbirds at the inn was in the late afternoon and early evening, but even that wasn't pleasant due to the amount of mosquitos in the courtyard by the fountain. We'll be back to the canyon and maybe for a slice of pie at the inn, but we'll return to other B&Bs for hummingbird watching. read more

The food was excellent, and I was astonished by the fact that the chefs worked very hard to accommodate an absurd number of dietary preferences among the guests. The service was warm and friendly, and the decor and landscape features were obviously designed to make our birding experience extraordinary. My room was very large, the full kitchen nicely stocked, and a wonderful assortment of K-cups were available for the coffee maker. The locking screen door was such a plus, I left the door open every night and fell asleep to the sound of the tiny stream. And a "pet" Mountain Gem was hanging around my feeder all week. My Husband and I picked the Ramsey Canyon Inn B&B as our wedding venue. Scott was great and made us feel really welcomed from the first time we met him. We explained to Scott exactly what we wanted and he made a wedding package that fit our needs perfectly. Communications with Scott up until the day of our ceremony was exceptional. Anytime I had any questions he would respond within reasonable time. He gave us a list of recommendations for a decorator/planner and that's how we met Alexis from AW events. She was also easy to work with and understood our needs. She created a special package for us as well. Both Scott and Alexis worked great with us. I was really nervous when it came to our wedding day.. I felt like I was missing something, I worried for nothing because Scott and Alexis took very well care of our family and friends. I would like to add we also had the Ramsey canyon bnb cater for us and the food was delicious! We got the taco bar and also ordered a charcuterie board. Our family and friends also stayed in the BNB and had breakfast. Everyone loved it. I really have nothing bad to say about the place and their staff. They were all very pleasant. We came here for our 37th anniversary at the recommendation of a friend who had stayed here a few years ago. Upon arrival we were greeted by a large flock of wild turkeys and a few deer. Scott and April welcomed us warmly. We registered and were given a tour of the facility and were advised that fresh pie would be available at 4 pm. Our room "Rufous" was inviting and comfortable. After settling in and taking some photos we partook of the pie. There were several to select from. The blueberry was outstanding. Our evening was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast, served family style, was delectable. After breakfast we hiked Ramsey Canyon to the overlook. Can't wait for breakfast tomorrow morning. read more

This place is one of the most serene and amazing stays in all of Arizona! First off all, it's tucked into a slice of heaven; especially in the Fall. The colors just pop and are reminiscent to the New England Fall Foliage with shades of red, orange, yellow and green everywhere! There's wild turkeys, deer and other friendly critters all around! Secondly, that staff are all attentive to details, very friendly and courteous and you feel like everyone knows who you are and TRULY CARE about you and your overall experience. While our party didn't partake in the breakfast, we did get one of their fresh baked (to order) pies. The pie list options were endless, but we settled on a blueberry, goat cheese and basil pie. It sounded different and quite tasty and it was seriously one of the best pies we've ever tasted! We'll definitely be back and hope to do a group stay in several units! An oasis in the desert! The Ramsey Canyon Inn is simply paradise. The tranquil setting allows one to get lost in thought, lost in nature, or just lost in a good book. Out the front door is access to the Ramsey Canyon Nature Preserve with miles of hiking trails, and around the back are multiple outdoor sitting areas where the hummingbirds come to play. We were a party of 9 friends who do some traveling together. We stayed for three nights and three breakfasts. We all stayed in the main building. The inn sits on the edge of the Nature Conservancy property. We were told that was the very first of the N. C. holdings. We were also told that the new owners have done a tremendous amount of work restoring and expanding the inn and grounds. They plan even more. The rooms are beautifully furnished with period pieces and have great climate control. April told us on arrival to treat the place as our own. We felt very much at home. The main floor contains a spacious living room, a"pie"room and a breakfast room. The"pie"room has a large fridge and freezer, table and glass Ware, a coffee maker and a table and seating. Fresh pies are available each afternoon, made daily by Chef Glenn. Breakfast is served at 8:00 each morning. It is a masterpiece uniquely prepared by Glenn. I have never eaten any of his dishes anywhere else. Each day is a surprise and Glenn give you a complete description at the beginning of each meal. Glenn is also a world class stand-up comedy act of one. You will have to decide which is better, the comedy or the food. Looking forward to an early return. read more

(We had a child with us so rules excluded us from staying in the main building.) The kitchenette and grill were useful. Coffee maker provided but bring your own coffee. Nature Conservancy next door is nice. Loud neighbors having an all day party on the other side was annoying. Great nature viewing: deer, turkeys, rattlesnake, and hummingbirds all seen within 24 hours. read more

I absolutely love this Bird Watchers paradise! They have created multiple bird feeding stations and comfortable viewing areas. The nature preserve next door offers views of numerous species, including the Elegant Trogen! The chef creates unique and delicious breakfasts, and the afternoon pie is a special delight. Wondrful place. The pies at 3 pm were awesome. We all raved about them. The breakfast so was outstanding with scrambled eggs, pesto, spnach, mushroom and bacon (which was held for two in our party who were vegatarians). Coffee was fair. The rooms were nice but easy to hear people talking in other rooms. The beds were double beds which led to us sleeping in seperate beds. The lounge area, and porch are worth the trip, especially with the humming bird feaders. We saw six different variaties of hummers. Also great birding in parking lot, better than walking up the trail for the park. The hike to the lookout was worth it but the switch back will take it out o you if not in shape. Saw 16 new life birds in mid march before the full mirgration (do my bidring on each coast). Worth a trip to san pedro house prserve to walk around. Great birding there as well. read more

Great location and lovely setting. Ramsey Canyon is beautiful and the Inn parking lot is next to the Nature Conservancy parking lot. We took a docent led tour of Ramsey Canyon without even having to move the car. It was fun watching the humming birds and chatting with other guests on the porch. The pie at 3 pm was good. The owner was very nice about modifying breakfast to accommodate my allergies. The rooms were a bit weird. They were so full of collectibles that there was hardly any room for my stuff! The bed was full of decorative pillows. I can't sleep with those. And there was no place to put them. I didn't want to throw them on the floor. I found a spot for the pillows. But there was no luggage rack and no place to set up my laptop. The internet connection was lousy, too. We did manage to get a pretty good night's sleep, but it was a bit clumsy. The worst part was the heavy fragrance in the sheets. I don't know what kind of laundry detergent they use, but they need to switch to something fragrance-free. It was a pleasant place to stay and with some small adjustments could be truly wonderful. read more
