Beautiful place. Seating area is fairly small, but nice decor. It is kinda pricy for the amount you food you receive. They like to make it more pretty than tasteful. If you're looking for an aesthetic vibe, come here. The food was okay.

Food was very good and good sized portions. My margarita was ok. Staff was friendly but it was a long wait for food. It's a very small restaurant but cozy atmosphere.

    Love this patio!

Updating my review to add: they have a lovely patio with umbrellas, flowers, a fountain, and music. Love the vibe out there. Perfect for a nice summer day!

Hidden away in an old train stop is this cute restaurant don't let the name fool you it's not a deli. It has a little bit of everything. Mexican American and Mediterranean food it seems like a lot, but the menu is small which means the food is delicious. what we ordered- 6 piece wings- Casa Hot- the wings were so good. I like my wings cooked well and that's what they were perfectly crispy and so flavorful. Wet Birria Tacos- these okay for me. I loved the fresh salsas that came with them and the meat was cooked well. I'm just not a Birria girl. Pastorcito Burger- I would recommend this burger to anyone who stops at Casa Deli. It's so flavorful and makes you regret not trying it sooner. It's best with all the toppings. Shout out to Fernando for giving us some epic recommendations and giving us great service always!

From the outside, Casa Deli appears to be a humble relic--a historical train depot that once ferried the citizens of Savage to destinations mundane and practical. But step through its front doors, and the illusion collapses. You are no longer in Minnesota. You are in a realm conjured by culinary sorcery, where the scent of authentic Mexican cuisine dances through the air like enchanted parchment. The fellowship and I journeyed toward the sun, seeking brunch not just as sustenance, but as ritual. We traveled in standard muggle modularity, guided only by whispers of the dish that shall not be named. Upon arrival, we found ourselves among kindred spirits--others who had rejected the bland and the ordinary in favor of the mystic and the mythic. The service? Uncannily intuitive. Our server didn't just take orders--they divined them. Like the Sorting Hat whispering house placements into the minds of first-years, they knew exactly what we needed before we did. No hesitation, no confusion--just pure, enchanted hospitality. The chips and queso? A standalone epic. The chimichanga arrived cloaked in sauce so divine, it could have been brewed in the cauldron of a flavor warlock. Guacamole so fresh, it sliced through the ribbons of time and I glimpsed the moment of its creation--time's own inception. But the true test of any culinary dojo: the birria. I ordered the Birria Que Huevos, and what arrived was no mere dish--it was a prophecy. Served with fresh bread clearly kneaded by the hands of a prophet, guided by Chicomecōātl herself, this was the moment the chef revealed their true form: champion ninja, flavor summoner, mythmaker. If you seek a letter to a culinary Hogwarts, a brunch-time platform 9¾, Casa Deli is your first stop. Perhaps your only stop....we didn't stay long enough for the dementors.

Love the cozy little spot! The food was delicious! Had the mix enchiladas and a strawberry margarita. The margarita seems to have been missing the tequila, as it tasted like I had just a strawberry margarita mix that already has tequila in it maybe.. I tasted no alcohol. Also most restaurants offer chips and salsa free and they do not, yet. Figuring once they up and thriving they'll be able to do that! Go and check them out!

The food was really good! We had the habanero chilaquiles. We went through the drive through and got our food pretty quick! Would really recommend this place. I've heard they have giant concha's (Mexican sweet bread) which look delicious!!

We've been here several times now and have yet to be disappointed. Even for pick-up its still good. Our top favorites so far are the birria wet tacos (my favorite), enchiladas, quesadillas and flautas. Their rice is awesome as well. If you have room after filling up on their authentic chips and salsa, the churros are to die for! Highly highly recommend!

I imagine it would be really nice in the spring/summer as there is a horse track right outside of the restaurant which would provide a great view to a race. It definitely got a little loud just sitting inside They had a large variety of options to choose from on the menu. They also offered a great and surprisingly extensive Happy Hour Menu which we got there in time to take advantage of.  We got the burger and thought it was very tasty, we love a good caramelized onion. I thought it definitely needed some ketchup to balance out the heaviness of the onions and cheese with a little bright acidity. I also thought the patties themselves were very good, thin with a slight crisp to them with a soft bun and melty sauces and cheese. Since it was a happy hour option the burger did not come with any sides like it would have as an entrée. We also got fish tacos and we were a big fan of the slaw and pineapple mayo which brought a balance of sweet and savory to the dish. Only came with two tacos (at least for happy hour) which might not be enough food if you're hungry. The hot smoked salmon was one of the more unique items we tried. The salmon itself was super tasty - salty and smoky just what you want. They use the smaller scraps of salmon that wouldn't work in their Wood-Fired King Salmon entrée and incorporate it into this appetizer which is great sustainability-wise! The salmon came with a creamy ricotta, salty capers, crunchy crostini, and sweet and acidic pickled red onions. We liked this combination a lot but felt it could have used even more sweetness/acidity, maybe just adding a couple more onions to the dish. We really enjoyed the 'Garganelli' pasta dish. It was creamy and indulgent with pieces of lobster and freshly shaved parmesan on top. The chili added a really nice layer of heat but wasn't overpowering. The server was nice enough to split up everything we had over the evening to share (which explains the two small portions in the photo). MN Mule - 8/10 Pretty average but solid mule. However, it was served in a plastic spam cup which elevated the whole experience. Margarita - 9/10 Very good margarita - we were told it was a house made margarita not from a mix. Very bright and fresh flavors that definitely let the tequila shine. Overall would definitely recommend!

The inside is beautiful and made for a really nice dining experience. We started with the Eichten's cheese curds, and they were excellent. They were soft on the inside, some had a great cheese pull, and the spicy dipping sauce paired really well with them. I ordered the Flat Iron Frites. The steak was seasoned well, cooked nicely, and didn't have much fat, which I appreciated. The fries were crispy and came with house-made ketchup. I usually don't even like ketchup, but this one was actually really good. My partner ordered the deviled eggs as his appetizer, and he enjoyed them so much he finished them in no time. For dessert, we had the Strawberry Shortcake Crème Brûlée, and it was fantastic. I've never had crème brûlée like that before. It was a unique twist on a classic dessert and ended the meal perfectly. The only small downside was that the complimentary water tasted clean and fresh. But it was warm instead of cold. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service made for a great experience, and I'd happily return. Glad i was able to cross this one off of my list.

My quintessential breakfast item is eggs Benedict and cappuccino- this is how I begin my evaluation of good food. So it was a toss up between The Better Half and the Lakeville Brewing Co which share the same parking lot. AI told me to go to Lakeville Brewing for the Benedict if I expect it to be done right. However it said The Better half will have way better cappuccino. Entryway into The Better Half was nice . The ambiance reminded me of High Hat on Selby on Cathedral Hill in St Paul. However the warmth wasn't there at The Better Half. The big bar had a few people sitting there, bartender looked at us but didn't say anything. No welcome - no smile nothing. No host at the front door- there was only a sign saying "please wait to be seated". We stood there for about two minutes until someone came from the back to seat us. Our server was a different person, she seemed warm and personable. They should put her in charge as hostess. First impressions are everything. Also train the bartender to be talkative, that's usually why people go to bars- they know at least the bartender will be friendly. Cappuccino was decent and good sized, no complaints there. The Benedicts were executed poorly. The eggs were hard boiled on both dishes. Hollandaise was thick, tasteless and slopped all over the plate. It didn't look appetizing - we had to send it back. With that said the ham was a good thick slice and the potatoes were fried up well. But there was nothing special about the potatoes. Due to poor execution of the eggs Benedict and hollandaise, coupled with the stoic bartender who was unwelcoming- I'd have to give this place a 1.5 star. It's unfortunate since I want to cheer for the small town restaurants. There's so much they could offer in personal touch and experience. Unfortunately this experience left us feeling like "if this is the better half, then I don't want meet the other half." Management needs to step up their game, it's not fair to the workers to let guests start off with a poor experience and then have the food quality continue to degrade the experience. The server never gets a chance to earn a great tip because the bartender, lack of host greeting and poor execution of food overshadows the server who was trying her best. We tipped her well anyway but this is why the lengthy review.. For a breakfast place you gotta get your eggs right. That's 101 cooking.
